This song absolutely WAS a huge hit worldwide for ELO ....in " 1976". What you are watching here is the more modern version of Jeff Lynn's ELO band. I am willing to bet that nearly every one of the middle aged crowd in that audience , probably attended the Original ELO concerts in the 7o's. Maybe with the partner who is with them in the film, maybe with a long lost love. But I assure you the joy , and the love that was displayed on their faces was bringing back the magic of holding hands, dancing , and being close with the one they loved at that original concert . Possibly even realizing back then for the first time with the help of Jeff's hauntingly beautiful voice that the person they were spending their youth with then , was the soul mate they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with . I wonder how many of those were dancing in this video ..thinking yeah...man ...this is what it is all about !!Life, Love and Music. There is no telling how many peoples lives were influenced or changed by the power of the Pristine , and magical voice of Jeff Lynn , and his musical vision ELO which was unmistakably far ahead of their time, and trailblazing . Thanks for the memories Jeff!!

I enjoy your reactions and happy that you’ve checked out this outstanding band! 7:35 To answer your question, it’s E. L. O. Just the 3 separate letters. This video is from their Wembly Or Bust concert . Every song they did was outstanding and almost perfectly identical to the original studio recordings. You would love every song in this show! ELO started in the early 70s and their leader, Jeff Lynne, was lead singer, guitarist, songwriter, and producer. He’s the genius who created all the amazing songs they recorded. They were/are extremely popular and had a large number of big hits, and their albums are outstanding. They basically mixed pop rock with classical music and instruments (which were electrified). Their name is actually a description of what they are-a small (or light) orchestra with electric violin, electric cellos, etc. along with typical rock instruments-thus an Electric Light Orchestra. This version of the group has Jeff as the only original member, with his touring band, but you will see the original band in videos when you react to many of their other songs. I’m sure you will get a large number of their other songs suggested in the comments, and they will all be great songs, so you can’t go wrong with any of them. Mr Blue Sky will be typically mentioned as the next song to check out, but don’t go to the “official video”-it cuts the beautiful end of the song off. So go to their album “Out of the Blue” to get that song. You are in for a treat! I’ll throw a few out: Livin Thing, Tightrope, Evil Woman, Don’t Bring Me Down, Wild West Hero, Can’t Get It Out of My Head.

Jeff Lynn's ELO is the name of the ensemble, they're more than a band or a group. I recommend checking out their live performances at Glastonbury, Wembley, Hall of Fame or any of their recent US tour but look under their current name or you'll get studio recordings with their old line up. For more Jeff Lynn look up The Travelling Wilburys 🇬🇧

ELO is amazing. I see a lot of people recommending songs--and they're all fine choices--but as someone who was addicted to ELO as a teenager, let me tell you that Kuiama is the song to hear, to react to. It's from their 2nd album and was a favorite of the band. Cheers.
@Cosmo-Kramer14 сағат бұрын
Sorry, but Kuiama is not a good song for a reactor in the beginning of their ELO journey. At 11 minutes in length, the prog-rock song (the band's only prog-rock song) is not representative of the band's classic era sound. It's best to hook a reactor (or anyone unfamiliar with the band) on the mainstream hits from Face The Music, A New World Record, Out of The Blue, and Discovery. After they're hooked, then their auditory palate will be ready for tracks like, Kuiama, from the early LPs, as well as later tunes from the '80s when synths had replaced strings creating a different sound for the band. Kuiama is an acquired taste, and as a second ELO song for a person to hear, well, it could really turn them off on the band.

But while live is nice, I'd opt instead next time for album audio so you get the full effect of Jeff Lynne's genius as an arranger and production guru. Also, try something earlier.
