This song would be one of the most sang children’s songs of people born in the 70’s😆(me) I remember this song more than anything ❤️ It’s a life story of the Taiyaki (the traditional Japanese sea bream shaped baked sweet)😊
Masato Shimon is a legendary singer who continues to sing theme songs and insert songs for Japanese anime and special effects films, on a par with the late Ichiro Mizuki.

Hello, this is a song sung on a Japanese children's program. Taiyaki is a type of hot cake with sweet azuki beans in between the hot cakes, and in Japan it is called red bean paste. The taiyaki on the iron plate is grilled every day and finally eaten by humans. Now that I think about it, I think it was a serious lyrics for children. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Although this song was originally released as a children's song on the children's program "Hirake! Ponkikki," it struck a chord with parents and became a national hit. I think the reason for this is that while the lyrics convey the joy of seeing an anthropomorphized fish-shaped pancake swimming in the ocean for the first time, they also stimulate the desire of adults to "break free from the daily routine of going back and forth between work and home" 😌 This program continued from the 1970s to the mid-1980s, and in addition to this song, Nokoinoko sang "Patapata Mama," "Computer Grandma," and "Working Cars," and Shimon Masato sang "Bone Bone Rock" and "One Carrot, Even One Stick," among others. Together with the "Ministry of Education Songs" established by the Ministry of Education at the time and songs that came from the public broadcasting NHK program "Minna no Uta," this became a trend of songs that Japanese parents could feel comfortable singing to their children.🤗
Sorry I don’t watch you much but I got the notification saw no one commented yet and thought ‘Wow, finally first at something!’ Achievement unlocked First place in comments!

Swim! Taiyaki(fish-shaped pancake) Every day, every day, we're grilled on the hot plate, and it's getting to be a drag. One morning, I had a fight with the old man who runs the shop, and I ran away to the sea. The first time I swam in the sea,it felt really good. My stomach's full of bean paste, but the sea is so big, my heart is jumping. The pink coral was waving and watching me swim. Every day, every day, all I do is have fun. The shipwreck is my home, and sometimes I get bullied by sharks, but when that happens, well, I just run away. After swimming all day, I get hungry, and my eyeballs start spinning. If I don't eat some prawns once in a while, I'll just get soggy from all the salt water. I took a bite from the other side of the rocks,But that was a little fish hook! No matter how much I struggled, I couldn't get the hook out of my throat. An old man I didn't know was surprised when he caught me on the beach. I'm a Taiyaki after all. A slightly burnt Taiyaki, the old man swallowed his saliva and ate me up. ********************************************** This song was performed by Masato Shimon on a children's television program in 1975. It became a huge hit in Japan at the time. However, Masato Shimon was working as a part-time singer, and he recorded this song as a side job for 50,000 yen. While the song became a big hit, he did not receive any royalties from it. The record sales of the single in Japan still hold the number one spot to this day, and no one has surpassed that record. Around 1993, he retired from the entertainment industry, and his whereabouts are now unknown. He was a prominent vocalist in Japan’s anime and tokusatsu scenes. As for the reason behind the song's success, some believe it was due to the emotionally appealing melody and the coloring book that came with the single. Although there isn't concrete evidence to back this up, an episode that has been passed down since that time is as follows:The lyrics resonated with the feelings of salarymen (wage workers) who wanted to quit their office jobs and venture into the wider world. With the National Railways labor unions (Kokuro and Doro) striking, many company employees were unable to commute and were forced to stay home. As a result, these employees, along with their children, began to watch Ponkikki (a children's program) more frequently. This increased exposure led to the song spreading, particularly among young children and their fathers. Many of the fathers who bought the record said they did so because "the children wanted it" or "it seemed like something the children would enjoy." The song was supported as a piece of music that could be enjoyed by both parents and children.

Masato Shimon has performed many iconic songs, but within the same program where Oyoge! Taiyaki-kun was sung, another classic is the song Hone Hone Rock. Masato Shimon is the singer of the opening for the 70s tokusatsu show Kamen Rider Amazon.
Shimon Masato, who was poor, accepted the offer to write this song for 1 million yen. It became a big hit, but he didn't receive any more money than the 1 million yen that was in the contract. Life is difficult.

Oh hearing that there's more JP bros watching, I'd really suggest for you to react to Tamaki Koji. He's farely unknown in the west but a major Rock Musician and someone known to have such a powerful yet gentle singing voice. To the point that he can perform with an orchestra in the back and his voice still holds their ground. There are two songs from him I would suggest and its Denen or Melody. Preferably the orchestral concert versions.

I have transcribed the opening narration. *Sorry for the machine translation. Sales record 4.54 million copies 1975 (Showa 50) A song sung on a children's TV program quickly became popular among adults. The song was said to be about the sadness of a salaryman. It set a record for the highest record sales in Japan's record sales history. The number one million-seller was Masato Shimon's “Oyoge, Taiyaki-kun”
Eh! Masato Komon's Oyoge Taiyaki-kun😂 Is this the 1980s? It's an old song, but it's a very popular song. It's an interesting lyric, isn't it? When I saw the video, I was surprised again that it was TAKA's father who was next to Masato Komon! 😆 I think it was when TAKA was not born yet. Surprise❣️

Hi!!! Wow!!! I am happy because Mr Luke is reacting to the song TAIYAKI-KUN!!🐟️ This song was the best-selling toddler song in Japan. I was a kindergartener at the time (around Mr Luke's child's age) and my parents bought me a record of this song. In the UK, it's like... a hit song that was played during the Teletubbies programme. I found a video with animation from the time and I'll add the link here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIqpkGyiopKcrLMsi=W2GYZaBQ9rYFeNbu
