A few fun facts about Queen: * Guitarist Brian May has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and built his electric guitar (Red Special) when he was 17 (with his dad). * Bassist John Deacon has a degree in electronics. He designed and built the amp that Brian sometimes uses to create unique sounds on Red Special. John was also involved in the band’s financial management. * Drummer Roger Taylor has a degree in biology (pre-med). His vocal range is better than most lead singers of other groups. * Lead singer Freddie Mercury has a degree in graphic design. It goes without saying that his vocal range was amazing and he was the best front man of any band. * All four have written #1 hits, and all are members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

You should do Queen's Live Aid performance. It was an effort to raise money for the famine in Ethiopia and had a concert in London and Philadelphia, and was broadcast worldwide to an audience of between 1-2 billion. Almost all of the major bands of the day performed, each getting 20 minutes, and Queen absolutely stole the show. Still considered the greatest live performance of all time.

I think we need to take a minute to get our head around the fact that this is one guitar accompanied by one of the greatest singers that ever existed who had the ability to have 100,000 people simultaneously eating out of his hand. No screaming or disrespect from the audience, just the pure love and adulation of Freddie's amazing gift. We'll miss him forever.

In “modern-day” context, this song has a whole different meaning: When guitarist Brian May tours nowadays with Queen + Adam Lambert, Brian always performs THIS song himself as a tribute to Freddie. Brian plays/sings the first part of the song himself (w the help of the audience of course)… THEN, a larger-than-life Freddie “walks out onstage” (on a GIANT video screen) and sings the last chorus, leading the audience to sing w him. There’s NEVER a dry eye in the audience, and Brian keeps a kerchief in-hand to wipe his eyes. The most touching rendition I’ve seen on YT is one where Freddie’s mum, Jer Bulsara, was in the audience… and Brian says “Mum, this is for you!”🙏 (The other BEST version to see on YT is from New York City, performed c. 2014-15.) It’s the most BEAUTIFUL tribute to friendship.💕

The guitarist is Sir Doctor Brian Harold May, the Rockstar-Astrophysicist . Besides being a legendary guitarist, he is also a renowned expert in Stereoscopic 3-D Photography and owner of the London Stereoscopic Company, a published author, and combines his 3-D expertise with his abiding interest in astrophysics to collaborate with NASA and The European Space Agency (and other space scientists) to compile 3-D images from data obtained from various space missions. On top of all this, he is a much sought-after public speaker on these subjects, with a special talent for translating highly technical information in a way that we non-scientists find fascinating and engaging. AND he also uses his respected stature across all these “fanbases” to promote animal rights and environmental causes. His charitable trust called Save Me doesn’t just pay lip service to these causes either - Save Me Trust leads the way in programs and initiatives to save England’s hedgehog, badger and fox populations. Brian’s countryside estate also houses the Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue, which takes in injured or otherwise distressed wild animals to be nursed back to health and released back to the wild when possible. Oh, and let’s not forget he sells his own line of guitars (BMG - Brian May Guitars), which are based on the design of his own original Red Special that he built as a teenager with his father’s loving help. Don’t ask me when or if this man ever actually sleeps…lol

The guitar player is Brian May and he's excellent and still plays with Queen to this day. Freddie's vocals, Brian's guitar work, and the crowd just make this performance epic! This song was to Freddie Mercury's girlfriend, Mary Austin, when Freddie told her he was bisexual. She left and this was his ballad to her on not leaving him and they remained very close till Freddie's death in 1991. She's the only one who knows where his ashes are and has never told anyone out of respect to Freddie's wishes. He referred to her as his common law wife even though they never married and he said she could never be replaced. She inherited the majority of Freddie's estate once he died including his music royalties and most of his money too. I love your reactions here! You should react to this same song live from Rock In Rio from 1985 because the crowd sings even more which is impressive since English is not the native language there. This is probably Queen's best live performance song because there's three main versions; this one from Wembley, Rock In Rio 85, and Motreal in 81. All three are great and different from one another. Can't wait to see more Queen reactions from you!

I was 13 years old. Queen was my absolute favourite band and my dad took me to see this concert. I was on his shoulders from most of the concert. I have seen a great many concerts in my life as I am a music lover, and still to this day this is the best concert I ever attended.

Like some others, I was also lucky enough to be at the show. I LOVE your reminder about different people's experiences btw. It's very easy, particularly for British people, to wonder how can anyone not have heard of Queen, but your response hits the nail on the head beautifully!

In case you’re wondering, when Freddie shows his bum to the audience it’s a reference to a fallout Queen had in the early ‘70’s with their management company. They were selling records and headlining in Europe & Japan but were broke whist their manager was living quite extravagantly. Freddie wrote a scathing tribute to him (“Death on Two Legs”) which includes the lyric “you can kiss my ass goodbye”. RIP, Freddie.

Impromptu is another favorite of mine from this concert. Another awesome thing to see is the Green Day concert before they came on, Bohemian Rhapsody was playing on the intercom and the whole stadium sang along.

The guitarist is Brian May and not only is extremely talented he is a really kind and generous man. I suggest you react to Bohemian rhapsody which in my opinion is the best song ever written and was written by Freddie. It is long but the intensity and emotion is second to none. Not a Queen fan but when I first heard this on the 10th November 1975 I was transfixed and astonished. The DJ Kenny Everett was told not to play it on Capital Radio as it was too long, he ignored this and thanks to him we have a classic that everyone knows about.

I'm sure others told you that the guitarist you asked about is Sir Brian May. He is not only an absolutely amazing guitarist, but an accomplished astrophysicist. He still rocks the hair, albeit gray now.

Queen famous for their phenomenal live performances, Freddie Mercury considered one of if not the best frontman of a band and his flamboyant performances, he always played to the crowds and had them in the palm of his hand, I actually attended this 1886 concert and the year before in 1985 the famous Wembley live aid concert which was a charity concert for the Famine in Africa, Live Aid twinned with a concert in Philadelphia USA 🇺🇸, 92,000 at Philadelphia and 72,000 at Wembley, both concerts were televised and watched by 1.9 billion people worldwide, out of all the bands and artists that performed on the day Queen with their Legendary flamboyant performance stole the show and the performance is considered to be one of the best performance ever by a band,Queen all the guys in the band have written no1 hits and they have sold over 300 million records worldwide, also Queen as a band were all talented musicians, and Queens greatest hits is still the best selling album of all time in the Uk 🇬🇧, Welcome to Queen, great reaction thanks 🙏

When I heard you said "I love that it wasn't full of..." I had a giggle to myself thinking of your future reaction to Bohemian Rhapsody (possibly the best song ever, where in Britain it's almost a necessity to know word for word by the age of 7) and Don't stop me.

You can also react to Seaside Rendezvous sung by Queen, there is no live version, no official video, only videos they have made to reflect this song, it is totally different from what they usually sang. Thank you for turning on the subtitles. Greetings from Guatemala City in Central America.

The thing about Freddie, he loved his fans. Each and every single one of us. There's an earlier concert, in Brazil, I believe, when the crowd starts singing this song with him, and he just watches them in awe. One of the greatest entertainers in history.

I was born in the 80's to the rhythms of Freddie, literally, because his song "I was born to love you" was playing when my mom had to leave to the maternity ward. Water broke exactly at the part when the bass drops.

Freddy was already an artist who was on a very different stage than most in the business. Creative, unique and clear in the song, a person with a heart. What distinguished him, in addition to his voice, was how he performed on stage, how he acted or how he simply involved the audience in the video (and thanked him like a gentleman). The guitar, always an interesting instrument, and at the concert this acoustic guitar was undoubtedly the right one and played brilliantly by Brian May.

Queen: Freddie Mercury (lead vocals) Brian May (lead guitar), Roger Taylor (drums), John Deacon (bass guitar). Since Freddie’s death John Deacon quit after taking part in Freddie’s memorial concert, Queen are now Brian & Roger and still tour with ADAM LAMBERT on leads vocals, you may know Adam as a contestant on American Idol 😊
