I'm probably just too dumb to enjoy T.O.P's music or at least this specific song. I was honest with you all about not liking it and that's the best I can do for a reaction. I'm not an art major nor am I familiar with the different movements, so I don't understand the deeper meaning of the song. I appreciate the comments none the less.

Understandable, the M/V is very confusing without knowing the context, TOP comes from a family of artists, his great uncle Kim Whanki is a very famous artist in Korea which is referenced in the copyright Whanki Foundation. The M/V is very heavy in references for both art and movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Blair Witch Project, etc. "Doom Dada" refers to Dadaism which is an art movement that happened during WWI. Also the random words at 6:30 is the Korean alphabet! The song is really hard to understand without the meaning of all the references TOP makes but basically he connects Dadaism (which is basically artistic rebellion) to reject the traditional norms and to challenge expectations by society. He basically just says he's the original rapper and all the new upcoming rappers take inspiration from him, he compares to Basquiat (another artist) just with a mic instead. There's a lot going on tbh, and totally understandable and I can agree with what you've said! Although the song is catchy so I just let it stay in my playlist 😆 If you still want to give Doom Dada a chance, I suggest a live performance, he performs it amazingly! or you can check out Turn It Up which is another one of TOP's solos. Thanks for the reaction!!

The first time I watched and listened I was so confused and the visuals distracted me from making sense of the song’s structure. I was just like “get doom dada chanting out of my head”. But it grew on me. Also really impressed at the rapping in some parts.

His favorite art movement is dadaism, he is a great art collector and knows about that too well he always put art in his songs, he is representing koreans and using art metaphores with this song he likes the weirdness of dadaism and he likes uniques things and styles, he is representing a lot on this songs but maybe using a language thats too advanced for some people to understand, he talks about rebellion and not accepting norms, he is saying witht he lyrics and the song that "thats how humanity evolutioned" thats why he is showing you where we came from and how some changes as acts of rebellion changed humanity forever, like the homo erectus being the first specie to start hunting, cooking its meals with fire, then he shows a representation of someone or some kind of homo discovering a mic and being the first and original one doing something with that and ending the evolution with the home genus with him, being the perfect korean/human/rapper...then he shows how we impresoned ourselves with traditions, norms and media when we are supposed to be original, rebellious and free and he is also saying that since he is the original rapper (a thing that he can say because he is literally such a legend) other will copy him and follow his steps but he will always be the og one

TOP is an art expert and respected art colector . You need to read about Dadaism to understand why things are this way in this song . He is dressed like Salvador Dali . TOPs Doom Dada is like GDragon's Coup D'Etat. They are the first real rappers in kpop , the standard , the manual . Is not just about rap fast but writing lyrics , make music . He is also a wine expert . There are a lot of wine references too . 😅 This song is modern art in music form so is hard to undersrand .

To understand what this video is about, you need to know about the Dada-ism movement in art! This MV is chockful of art and movie references. Just google Doom Dada Analysis. There are many people who have actually written articles giving their interpretation 🤣!

This reaction is very accurate to this song 😅 at first you love it or hate it, it's a song made from an art movement dadaism, where the weirdness of the song comes from. For me it grows on me with time, I love it, no a fan in the beginning. 😅 Understandable.

i can see where you come from although its personally one of my favrioutes he has a lot of refrences in it witch makes it harder for forigners to understans what he is talking about but throughout the song he is basically saying that his music is never before seen and how it influences other music paths but despite it never beating the orignal i wouldnt call it a bad song but yes it may be a bit more confusing to undertsand the messge behind it compared to other songs espially in big bang the ood vibes the music video gives off probally dosnt help with that but thats kind of what top was going for to represant his lyrics through the visual lol

Can you react to GD and Taeyang performance in GALA too? They perform earlier than other artist but in france tv broadcast they put them as the last act.. they never anticipated how amazing GD and Taeyang performance would be in live so now they make it as the final act.

I think this lyrics video was poor...😒 It. ruined your experience with TOPs lyricism.🥺 Especially there's no additional information about not obvious thinks, ex. alfabet or Pinot Noir. There're videos with better quality translation and explanation about many art references in lyrics. There's hard too understand it in Korean... More to translate it.🫣 And still, the MV is pure art if you look closer and known what is Dadaism. 😁 Please try again! Especially the live concert version.🤩

I think the MV was very weird and as a result, also very interesting. I just didn't grasp this deep artistic concept I have seen people mention in their comments. I might just be too stupid to enjoy TOP which is perfectly fine with me. We all have our personal preferences.

@FreshestKReacts The MV is weird and that's why many try to explain it, because many of us have to go deeper in it. It's ok that you don't like it and don't makes you stupid. We just that artsy, weird part of TOP.😄 BUT you didn't like the song also because of the lyrics. And I think it's mainly because the poor translation. I saw many reaction of this song. And if I've seen only translation like that I wouldn't defend this song so much. There's more depth in this that only bragging... But maybe I'm biased. 😅

The lyrics are very complicated. You gotta look it up if you don't know what lots of that things mean. This song in particular is a nod to art-if you don't know art history it'll be hard on you.

You need to educate yourself. For a highly-cultivated artist like T.O.P, whose provenance includes one of the pioneers of abstract art in Korea, as well as curators, art educators, and visual artists on his mother's side, creating music won't be one-dimensional. Your "honesty" about not liking the song because of ignorance makes your opinion moot. A serious art collector, T.O.P possesses more than a hundred chairs created by bluechip visual artists (that we, mere mortals could only hope to collect). Just like #GDragon, he owns multi-million dollar paintings, sculptures, furniture, and pop art. As of 2021, his art collection has been reported to include more than 200 paintings and 40 sculptures of world-renowned artists like Richter, Warhol, Fontana, Grotjahn, Mesler, Murakami, Kohei Nawa (his artwork is featured in BIGBANG's "Bae Bae" mv ), Henri Rousseau, Piet Mondrian, etc. *Feel free to look those up, have an idea of their stature in the art world. A few years ago, he admitted to eyeing a painting of Jean-Michel Basquiat's, and that he has been aspiring to own a Picasso. In 2019, both GD and T.O.P were on the list of '50 Art Collectors to Watch' by New York-based magazine, ARTnews. The guy owns a vineyard in Argentina. His wine brand, T'SPOT, manufactured in France, is well-regarded. The likes of T.O.P in Kpop? Certainly most rare. Pray tell, how in the Dada could an artist (as opposed to their entertainment industry's concept of an idol) of his calibre come up with an inherently nonsensical song?

TOP has way better songs than this but I agree. Most of his iconic verses are in the BB group or unit songs. Please check out Daechwita (대취타) by Agust D next. He's also known as Suga from BTS. It's one of the best k-rap songs and I think you will LOVE the music video as an anime fan. And then you have to follow it up with Haegeum and Amygdala shortly after as they are all connected in a trilogy. Some people call him as the Korean Eminem.
