They called King of Summer because they produce really good summer songs, but you're so wrong if you say they only can do one type of genre or the same beats, since WINNER is the most different group in YG or even in kpop. There definitely reasons they called WINNER POP rather than KPOP in SK. That's probably why people who loves the "SO kpop" not into them. But they will listen to WINNER songs anyway. That's why they called King of Festivals, their songs will sounds better live with the crowd singing and dancing together! That what makes them different and special. Also their solo songs have different genres, since they produce their own songs. You can go to Mino to hear more hiphop and react to MINO KILLING VERSE. They called the AVENGERS of kpop indeed. They're pro in what they do. Mino is one of the best idol hiphop rapper in kpop and once a producer in rapp show. Yoon is one of the best singer in kpop and a judge in a singing show. Hoony is one of the best freestyle dancer in kpop a judge in a dance show. Jinu is no 1 visual in YG for now. WINNER choose to do what all the members can do, so everyone stand out. That's WINNER. Public knows every members individually not only one member.

Winner to me, has a lot more varied songs than iKon. Almost all of their beginning songs fit into r&b. However, this is Killing Voice, they are only singing snippets of their most popular songs... & they're known for their summer hits.

WINNER is the WINNER coz KOREA voted for them back then in WIN and almost 10 yrs later, WINNER is still winning! It's a bit unfair how you keep comparing both groups but that's yg fault for competing them from the start and even debuting them back to back. So people can't even focus on WINNER and give them their chance to shine. In 2014, they just debuted the best kpop debut album btw and YG just threw them in japan and never heard from not until 2016. First of all, during the iKON Winner competition, Winner got ahead of iKON in terms of song production. The song, which they produced in a limited time at that time, ranked first on the charts all over Korea, even though they were rookies. Honestly I understand you feel to compare winner and ikon a lot if you come from WIN, bc that’s the purpose of survival shows like that. Sadly in WIN winner was basically forced to use a style that wasn’t theirs, opposite on the other team who was created to be the “next bigbang”. Towards the end of the show when they could start producing their own songs they improved a lot and the public loved it and decided for the winner. Winner is winner, they have their own colours and aren’t the copy of anyone. Korea loves winner and more times they said that they are unique, that’s why if we want to compare they chart and sell better than ikon. For me I don’t like ikon and/or bobby music while I love winner and all their solos. It’s about taste and it’s hard to compare the two since they’re obviously different groups with different styles. Doesn’t mean you can’t also like both and their differences

Because this is "killing voice" (more focused on singing), as opposed to ikon, which is "killing verse" (more focused on rap), you may not be able to appreciate the rappers' full ability. Check out some of Mino's solo tracks, such as Run Away, Fiance, I'm Him, Body,..... Or, if you already like Bobby, you should begin with their duet songs: full house, hit me, holup.

First of all YG had always a good hand in creating unique groups like Big Bang, iKON, Winner and Blackpink ( not to forget Treasure and AKMU). Winner are very famous in Korea because of their unique „Winner sound “. They are very popular on festivals in the summertime. Comparing Winner and iKON is the same as if you do this with apples and oranges. Winner for me is more pop RnB and iKON is more HipHop and some secret ingredients 😊. Bobby but also Mino (the guy on the right) are well respected Rapper(for an idol) in Korea. Both have their own unique style and are very good lyricist. Like for Bobby Mino has also a Killing verse to offer.

Edit: Only today I found out about description. Dude, you're suck as a person do same a lame move. I was trying being polite even though I found comparison out of place. But at the end there was no need in it. Winner is a pure vibe group. If you do not vibe with them, they are not for you. Winner is not known for their crazy beats or crazy instrumentals. The main force in Winner songs are them. Their vocals, their witty and interesting lyrics(they write songs) and their attitude in stage that what makes Winner's song Winner. They do not focus at dancing at all. One of my favourite Winner's song are Zoo, Movie Star and Have a Good Day. I also enjoy OMG, Boom, Hello and Mola Mola. For latest album, I love U is my second least favourite song. Sorry, not for me. I liked much more Holiday, Family, Sweet Home and Little Finger. Little Finger is hilarious. There is explanation of song by koreans, it's super fun. Ahahahaha... They lean more on self-written song vibes. As well, Winner is like 4 different singers in 1 group. As a group they do compromise with each other. Meanwhile, in their solo songs outside Winner they can go harder and different. In 2023 Yoon's - Face to Face is wastly different from Mino's featuring in Jumper. But not only vibes of songs different is that how Mino is rapping and how Yoon is singing and how it different from group. But I think Winner can be not for you. mino is one of the most respected idol rappers and is much more versatile. he can do both the hard and slow raps. bobby is a great and energetic performer but there's not as much variety in the music he makes while mino's lyricism is deeper and his musicality is more creative. for the longest time, ikon only had one main producer + bobby writing his own verses (until recently) but winner members participate more in their songwriting and the other members get their turns to be the main producer since the beginning. ikon is for you if you want hype but winner is for relaxed, easy listening that endures through the years.

19:15 I think the reason was: Team A-winner: Members with a lot of skills but as a group they didn't seem to be in sync VS Team B-ikon: Everyone is in perfect sync but individually half of the members had less experience. Was all about which team improved their weaknesses first but it was good because the tall dark-haired mystery guy from ikon joined to them on the 2nd survival show. Winner musics/concept definitely not for u but it’s ok though I respect ur opinion. But the thing is i don’t think u need to compare ikon and winner or even bigbang. Winner is different from the start even at their debut people often called winner as a boring ballad group cuz they debut with slow songs, and their first debut album go with the model concept the songs on the album also more on pop sound. and years later after they go hiatus they comeback for more brighter vibes. but it doesn’t mean that their musics is very kpoppie. actually u need to hear all of their albums, cuz on dingo only showing their popular songs. anyway all I can say is winner is so different from ikon/bigbang, from their vibes to musics to concepts etc, so u don’t need to compare

They are the group which did not choose to go and have that usual YG sound in them. They are not a hiphop group after all. If you listen to more WINNER songs especially in their early years, you'll see a more different genre since back then they still haven't found their sound. Ever since they found their true color, they stick to it. But I will not describe their songs as repetitive. It's just that their songs give off that WINNER sound which make it so familiar, but again it's different. I don't know if I make sense to you hahaha. Honestly when I watched their survival show with iKON, at first I thought that iKON would win because they are just enjoying what they do. But when WINNER started writing their own song at the latter part of the competition, I was sure that they will win. No hate for iKON, I also love them. But at that time, they are talented but there's a part of me that says they are not ready yet. Unlike WINNER who I think is ready to debut. Bobby even said that he wanted to be the best rapper out of all the YG trainees at that time but when MINO (the blonde rapper) came along, Bobby just shook his head. But little did he know, they will become an amazing rapper duo 😁 MINO and BOBBY formed a unit called MOBB and released a mini album. Feel free to check it out. Anyways, if you want a unique song from WINNER, check out "Baby Baby". They still have 5 members back then. They also have other B-side tracks that explores other genre but of course being known as Summer Kings, most of their songs are fun, poppy, and upbeat. If you also think that MINO is just your typical kpop rapper, better listen to his Killing Verse. You'll see why he and Bobby are matched made in heaven 😁 Thanks for your reaction and honest opinion. it took me a long while to warm up to them. after Bigbang I naturally gravitate more towards iKON. but now I love them all as a group and as soloists. being Daesung biased (my type is the strong vocalists), my bias in Winner is Yoon the Captain, and indeed he is the captain, the leader of the group.

YG was faced with a difficult situation. They had attracted a lot of seriously good talent in their trainees. Too much for one group, but all nearing readiness to debut. They also needed variety in the sound of their artists. They split the nearly ready trainees into 2 groups with a diiferent make up. They couldn't debut them together cos then they would be competing as new groups against each other. Who knows their thought process, but maybe when deciding who debuts first they thoughf of. - Winner got a better response over all from the competition - maybe they were more ready to take on the demands placed on a debuted group. - Their average age was higher than iKON's - Thinking of a biscuit, Winner are to me, like the consistent, smooth, rich, creamy, delicious tasting, cool flavor in the middle of the buscuit; whereas BIGBANG and iKON are like the crackers on the outside that you are not sure what shape tbeir pieces will beeak up into when you bite in. So debuting in the order they did brought added variety and interest into their artist base.
