XG is a japanese girl group based on korea but they call their music X-pop or international pop(that's a thing for XG and us the fandom ALPHAZ). Welcome to the world of XG! Thank you for such a great reaction, as a fellow hip hop and R&B fan it was fun to watch. Yes, 'Woke Up' is actually their first song that has every member rapping in it, and the vocal line did not disappoint (they never do)!! Their songs are always in all English given their X-Pop/global girl group path, but until recently their rap videos have showcased their multi-lingual skills (reflecting a mix of English, Japanese and Korean). The XG TAPE #2 Galz Xypher was the original rap video that went viral and jump started the explosion of their international fan base (check it out!). Although technically there is a 4 member rap line (Jurin, Cocona, Maya, Harvey), and a 3 member vocal line (Juria, Chisa, Hinata), XG is one of those rare groups wherein all the members are all-rounders. In addition to their incredible rap skills you've seen showcased in 'Woke Up' (check out their TAPE video series), they all have dance crew level skills -- you should check out all of their 'fixed' dance practices for all of their songs (Tippy Toes, Mascara, Shooting Star, Left Right, Grl Gang, TGIF, New Dance, Puppet Show) as well as their MOVE video series -- and all have incredible singing voices (check out their 'It's Live' and 'The First Take' episodes of 'Shooting Star' and 'Winter Without You' as well as the VOX series for the vocal line). XG just thinks different. In addition to this great collaboration with Valorant, the rap line also created an incredible song for the dance crew Tsubakill called 'Show You Can' -- recently featured on season 2 of Street Woman Fighter series. Have fun going down the incredible XG rabbit hole. They can, and do, sing and perform in a couple different styles -- many times fusing them together --, but do tend to lean more into Hip Hop and R&B. What you will end up also loving even more about XG is their incredible friendships with each other, mindset and dedication to authentically being their best selves.

I'm so happy that you found XG. IMHO they are the best gg, period. Not all songs are rap. They do many genres, and their singing and dancing (and obviously rapping) is bar none. Look out for the dance practice for this song, choreo was written by Sienna Lalau from The Lab, who has already worked with them many times. Omg, I've been waiting for this!! Now that you've just reacted to their most recent comeback, i suggest that you should start reacting from their debut TIPPY TOES then MASCARA, SHOOTING STAR AND LEFT RIGHT then you could check out their first mini-album NEW DNA which every song in the album have their music videos except XGENE and HESONOO so I suggest that you can just check out their performance video in that. If you want to know them individually they have their XG VOX for their vocal line (HINATA, CHISA AND JURIA), XG TAPE for the rapline (JURIN, HARVEY, MAYA, AND COCONA) and they also have a XG MOVE tape for all of their dance cover. Take note that these 7 girls are all rounder. They can all sing not just sing but that SING, they have 4 elite rappers but all of them can rap (WOKE UP proved it), and they all can DANCE when i said that what i meant is DANCE like a DANCE CREW. Although all members are Japanese, all of their songs are fully in English! This is actually what got me to check them out initially about a year ago and XG ended up being kind of like my gateway drug for getting into k-pop (i know they're not k-pop lol) so they have a special place in my heart ahaha. In their unofficial content like tapes and covers, they rap and sing in Japanese, Korean and English! You have to check out Shooting Star, Left Right, Puppet Show and GRL GVNG!!
