Thank you for your reaction and I would like to recommend to you these songs from Michel Berger : "La Groupie du pianiste", "Celui qui chante", "Mademoiselle Chang", "Les Princes des villes", "Y'a pas de honte", "Chanter pour ceux qui sont loin de chez eux" and " Ça ne tient pas debout". Yes, to me the vocal style of Michel Berger always was to just sing like if he was talking to you, without trying to do vocal performances. It's always direct to the point and there's never too much or too less. It's always exactly only what the songs need. It's pretty much the opposite of 90% of the singers today who try too hard to impress and the songs sometime suffer from it. Michel Berger impressed by the music and the songs, and it's pretty much all that matters in the end.

Especially these followings tracks "Superficiel et léger", "Laisse passer les rêves", "Les élans du cœur", the sad "La petite fille de Calmette", "La négresse blonde", the so emotional song dedicated to Daniel Balavoine", "La lettre" (= the letter).

Non seulement Michel Berger est unique, mais encore il a écrit et composé de nombreuses chansons pour des artistes français (Véronique Sansom, Françoise Hardy, France Gall, etc.) et évidemment il a composé en partie Starmania.

All of his songs have been and still are great hits in France - he will never be forgotten ! Such a shame that at forty he had a heart attack while playing tennis. A great loss.

michel Berger was known as a great composer, a calm singer and a true humanist; If you don't know he was France Gall's husband and one of the greatest French songwriter. Yes the song is about dying surrounded by nature and ice, letting go and accepting, being one with whatever looms when we die and let go peacefully

Hi Dereck, Bass is definitely not synthetic :). Jannick Top is a classic trained cello player who later on switched to bass. He was a member of the avant garde jazz rock band "Magma", and outside France, he has been collaborating with loads of world fame artists such as Ray Charles, Nina Hagen, Herbie Hancock, Barbara Hendricks, Eurythmics, Ennio Morricone... (credit Wikipedia). And at 4:15, I would say this is oboe rather than clarinette.

I really like your reactions, Le Paradis Blanc is a beautiful song ! I'm French and I love listening to our classic songs, you should react to Comme Toi - Jean-Jacques Goldman, La Bohème - Charles Aznavour, Les Mots Bleus - Christophe, La Foule - Edith Piaf, (yes I have so many lol)

Michel Berger was a song writer at his begginings, he didn't want to be a singer. he made a song that no one wanted and decide to sing it, and that was a success. he wrote for Daniel Ballavoine and Johnny Halliday and many others like his Wife: France Gall

Thank's Dereck for this reaction .Michel Berger "les princes des villes " . And for an others different reaction If you can try In the same style than "le paradis blanc " ,=> "twist in my sobriety" by Tanita Tikaram.👍😁👍 Merci Déreck pour cette réaction .Michel Berger "Les Princes des Villes". Et pour une autre réaction différente si vous pouvez essayer dans le même style que "Le Paradis Blanc", "twist in my sobriety" de Tanita Tikaram.

Don't know if it's been written in the comments before but "fun" fact , this song has been the most often chosen song for french funerals.
