This brought me back to High School. I’m pretty sure I heard it on the radio or at parties or something. It’s crazy how we can remember something but completely forget until we hear, see, or touch something. This shocked me. Song is really good.

MCR was the face of the Early 2000s emo scene. The album Welcome to the Black Parade was released in 2006 and the whole album is great. It's one of the few mainstream modern day concept albums. Singles included the title track, Famous Last Words, I Don't Love You, and Teenagers.

My inner emo teenager is screaming with joy right now. This is one of the bands that really formed my love of music in my early teens and still to this day. I'm pretty sure this album/song came out my freshman year of highschool 2006.

"Welcome to the Black Parade" is MCR's "Bohemian Rhapsody". Even when I had no idea who MCR guys were (I didn't speak english at all when it came out), I still knew this song. Now, knowing a bit more of their discography, this one is still the one song I always recommend to people who'se never heard of MCR. Just like I recomment BR when showcasing Queen to anybody or "Vincent" in case of Don McLean.

I had family over for Christmas one year back in the 2010's and my son asked me to play some MCR (his favorite band) and one of my nephews looked at me questionably when I was singing along with every song, "you like MCR??" I was like, "Dude, they are the exact same age as me lmao. I was listening to them when you were still in my sisters womb"

*I think I heard it in high school* Yes you did it came out in 2006. I'm only 23 but I also first heard them in high school. My memory can be amazing sometimes so I know this was the song that got me into the band. Freshman year of high school maybe first semester. In Theater arts which was my last class of the day. I'd play music out loud from my laptop and this girl in my class (Anikah) asked if she could play the song. I liked it so much it launched my love for the band. Hell if it wasn't for her I may never have made all my way into deathcore today

This came out in 2006, youtube was only a year old at the time and it was very much not standard practice for youtube to be the primary way of releasing music videos yet, this was still in the time when you basically only saw music videos on TV. Any music video before like 2008 is going to have a deceptive upload date where the video/song came out well before what it says on youtube.

For those of you who have only just now clicked on this video. Wendigoon did a full breakdown of the album explaining both the kid and death and how the songs are not only played out of order but how each song corresponds to one or the other. That being either death or the kid with cancer. Back when the album first dropped, nobody really caught on to the theme of the album until years later and then it really grew to fame more so than when it released. At least, that's how I saw it even though I myself am not a fan of MCR. This album in particular had a very hard grip on the planet and there's no way nobody didn't hear a single second of the album in some way shape or form. Anyways, during your next live. You outta check out that wendigoon video I mentioned above. If you don't end up deciding to breakdown the album yourself. It might give you a new perspective on this song in particular. You more than likely heard the album in it's entirety when it dropped. There was no escaping that album. You were for sure in high school or at the end of middle school you aren't much older than me. Class of 2010. Album dropped in 2006.
