The child-like call of "Mutter" building to the final rage filled howl of "Mutter!" gets me every time. Find it so hard not to cry at that point. Such a sad, sad, song performed with so much passion and emotion. Great choice and great reaction.

For years I raved to the song without understanding it. Nowadays I cant help but cry esp after learning the song's backstory then mixing with full understanding of the music video. You may or may not have a mum but might still find yourself in situations crying for her like when he says - Oh gib mir kraft/ Oh give me strength. This cry could either be to get over his suffering through surviving or finding that little courage to end his life altogether. Heartbreakingly sad

Rammstein was my gateway into reaction videos. Just before the start of the pandemic, I was watching Rammstein videos on KZbin and noticed that some people on KZbin were reacting to the videos so a decided to have a look. One of my things throughout the pandemic and lockdowns has been engaging with others who show their appreciation for this music. It got me into Nightwish too, and various other acts that I have now had a deep dive into (streamed, bought CDs, bought gig tickets for when we come out of this. I booked Rammstein before the pandemic and I think it’s been postponed twice). And I enjoy the way some of the best reactors (you included) share their love, enthusiasm, knowledge etc., and it makes the experience - especially when you can’t experience the live thing - more vivid and engaging.
@scottevil45313 жыл бұрын
It was similar with me, although in my case the Eskimo Callboy reactions last spring were my gateway. The music reaction scene is just awsome in its apreciation for details and the craft and you find so many good bands with so many unique styles.

It‘s so so amazing to see how you love Rammstein and see the beauty in this song. In fact, it‘s one of their darkest and saddest songs lyrics wise, but performed in a weird beautiful way - a bit like „Deutschland“ is beautiful and at the same time highly saddening with its subtext. Finding those meanings and nuances and alternative interpretations is the most interesting apect when reading/listening to Tills lyrics. Try to stay away from their song Ramm4 (pronounced Ramm Fear - in German, RammVier) for the time being. You really need to experience (notice I didn't just say see or listen to) more of their works. Once you get a dozen or more videos/shows under your belt, then... THEN... Ramm4. It will make it all the more special when you do! Take Care and love ya! As an outsider, I'm not too sure how the German, French, and English people get along in general, but one of my favourite Rammstein performances is their cover of Depeche Mode's Stripped in Nimes 2005. So, you basically have a German band performing in front of a French audience while singing in English and everyone is having a great time. I would imagine some people involved in historic events some 60 years prior to that might be turning in their graves.

So many people have told me that I am stupid for listening to them. I have been told that it is pointless, because I don't know what they are saying. I actually prefer letting the music and vibe determine the mood, not the words. I read lyrics a long time ago, but I don't remember them, because they were irrelevant to my love of the songs. It is a pure connection that I wouldn't trade for English versions. In fact, their manager early on told them that they wouldn't make it speaking German. They did English versions of Du Hast and Engel, and nobody liked them. Love that you found this rabbit hole.
@nothingTVatYT3 жыл бұрын
I think it's amazing how popular they got despite the language barrier. Quite some people reacting to Rammstein songs claim that the German language and its sound fits the the music style. That may mean that in the early days critics were wrong and it's actually a distinguishing feature that helped. I'm German so I guess I'm biased but if I for example consider The Hu singing Mongolian I cannot imagine they would sound similar emotional if they would use a different language "just for the audiences' convenience". In the end it matters more what the artists feel good about, what they want to express and how they can bring that to us. Not that I want to bash the English language: There are some translated versions of e.g. country songs and most of them are just awful. It's really about what fits and of course a matter of what you're used to. What I want to express is that we can simply appreciate the variety and freedom of art instead of falling back into the tribe and that "we vs. the others" mind set.

This piece is also a good example that without Flake Rammstein would never have been what they are. Again and again he is only moved into the nerd corner and underestimated enormously. What most people remember is only the treadmill he is running on while playing. Most of the Rammstein pieces are backed by a mostly inconspicuous but sometimes bombastically symphonic sound body combined with techno elements and so much more. It´s done so cleverly that it is hardly noticeable in the foreground. But if you take it out of the equation and mix it away at the mixer console, the rest sounds nearly like any metal band. Together with the typical Rammstein monster guitar riffs the keyboards in the background fill up the entire sound, make things round, and not at least because of this Rammstein sound so unique ! Another good example - kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6KXYnmjrJp2fas

It does add a lot if you do understand the lyrics. They can be quite harsh though, but so good. One of my other slow Rammstein favourites is Sonne, not sure if you have listened to that one already and I am too lazy to look it up :-) I love seeing that people around the world can unite with music and metal in particular. The complexity of metal is often underrated by those that never experienced it.

I love Mutter but I think their two most beautiful songs are Ohne Dich and Klavier. I would suggest checking those two out., New subber just found you yesterday just because you were reacting to Rammstein. Keep up the good work, I like your voice and your approach to the music you listen to it's very refreshing compared to a lot of other reactors. Keep up the good work.

Funny you mentioned Metallica,as the guitar in this song is often compared to Metallica's "The Unforgiven"

First of all, Greetings from Germany. Iam a big Rammstein Fan myself and would like to see your reactions to Haifisch, Ich Will, Rosenrot, Feuer Frei, Keine Lust, Mein Land, Pussy or Puppe. The Songs often got a deeper meaning, that you will get only after you heard it mutliple times

You should watch it Rammstein - Weisses Fleisch [Live] @ Bizarre Festival 1996

Thank you for sharing this reaction video. I enjoyed watching it. A song I would recommand from Rammstein that is not so well known but beautiful nonetheless is "Donaukinder". Maybe you like it.

Please listen to "Nebel", "Zeit" and "Ohne Dich". I listen to Rammstein since my childhood because of my mother and they are my absolutely favorite band til today. I know every song they have by heart and hope to get the chance to see them live again. I went to their arena tour 2019 and it was epic, I had tears streaming down my face during "ohne dich". The whole Commerzbank Arena 🏟 was pitch black and everyone was holding their lighters & phones in the air. It was so beautiful and emotionally moving scenery to witness 💜

Always good to watch your reactions and this is a beautiful song from their in my opinion best album. I appreciate that u like both Rammstein and Nightwish, reliving these performances through these videos always gives me warm fuzzy feelings. If you like heavier music I'd like to suggest checking out the french band Gojira, arguably one of the best metal band of recent times. there are some awesome live performances on youtube such as Pray (Extended version) Live at Red Rocks, The Heaviest Matter of The Universe (Live at Vieilles Charrues Festival 2010) or The Gift of Guilt (Live at Brixton) just to name a few.

Another great reaction. Love you :) This song is about a man who never had a mother because he was born as a result of an experiment. The man in the song seeks revenge against his mother, who did not give birth to him. But at the same time, he expresses his love for the same mother. I like how Rammstein make songs on unusual themes. Next song to react: Links 2 3 4 Paris official video, or Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen? (Official Video)
