Hi from Sydney, thanks for the reaction, I really appreciate any good word regarding RQ. I’m an old rocker, follow them for more than 4 years and truly enjoy their ‘sort of 80s’ vibe. I just attended their Sydney concert, they are fire on stage. Joining in to previous comments: Azalea is a flower, during spring turning the Korean country side to beautiful purple-pink. The song is a cover of a Maya song, based on a poem. You can check out the proper translation on the official MV. RQ is an Indy band, they don’t have a rich record label or zillionaire investors behind them. Rock is half-dead in Sth Korea, pushing the rock genre there is not a rewarding goal. If they want to make a living by playing their music and push rock n’ roll, they can only do it one step at a time, which I appreciate. They have heaps of really good stuff on their KZbin website, I suggest some official (for decent sound) live recording. Thanks for reading my spill, cheers

This indeed has a old-timey hard-rockey vein, which makes it right up my alley. Singer's voice is truly beautiful. Fantastic song, I would like to hear more of this band. I hope there will be more reaction videos to their songs.

Greetings from Hungary.... Rolling Quartz was on a concert tour in Australia some weeks ago...(in Melbourne and Sydney as well). They are super awesome band. For me RQ and Lovebites are my favourites. Both bands are super talented with strong positive radiation.❤

I saw them this year in June in Budapest. They were amazing. ❤

Hi guys, thanks for picking up my request. btw, my moniker is Hoges412, that 512 guy must be an imposter, lol. 😅 I saw Rolling Quartz in Sydney on 8th September, and they rocked the roof off the small venue! Their live show is fantastic, they are all top notch musicians, and Jayoung's vocals are very powerful. I met the ladies at the fan signing afterwards, and they are all charming and engaging. They were aware that Lovebites played in Korea recently (I was wearing a Lovebites T shirt!), and I think one of them attended their concert. One highlight was their cover of ACDC's Highway to Hell, especially for the Australian audience. In return they were taught the dreaded "Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi" chant, which has featured on their social media tour posting. I guess that's a fair cultural exchange. 🙄 Live recordings of RQ with good sound quality are a bit scarce, but I'll try to find one for you as a follow up. Cheers, Hoges.

Saw them live in London earlier this year and it was an incredible concert, they played a great mix of their own songs(MVs) and covers of songs by Metallica, Lady GaGa and even ‘Metal Heart’ by Accept! For a great live performance check out ‘Rock & Roll Paradise with Drum Solo’. RQ are my second favourite band after Lovebites.

Rolling Quartz 💎 and Lovebites 🐺 are my equal favourite current bands. I got to see RQ 💎 perform recently at their Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 show. RQ 💎 were excellent Live! They included a great cover of AC/DC's 'Highway to Hell'🔥- just for us Aussies too. 😊

If I remember correctly you are in Australia. They just toured in Australia, after Europe and the US. They were a big hit , everywhere.

Their newer singles Fearless and Victory are less restrained, and they beefed up their guitar sound a bit; but they're never going to be heavy-heavy because that's not something they intend; they're trying to walk the line between heavy rock and marketability, I mean their esthetics are pure K-pop, just a bit on the edgy side. That is because Korea as a country is not really used to domestic rock or metal; there is a small scene, but it's largely unknown in the wider culture. RQ have apparently decided that if they want a domestic audience, they cannot crank it up to 11. I mean, I respect that. They're really good, also variable in their musical style, not everything has to be metal, and out comes a fresh and very entertaining kind of rock'n'roll.

I am glad ya'll have discovered Rolling Quartz. They very likely would have been one of my next requests. I discovered them quite by chance. I watch many of the vlogs of both Crypta's tour manager and the guitarist Jessica. Because of that, I am guessing, a vlog from a channel called RUMI was listed in my recommendations and I decided to watch it. Turns out RUMI is the channel for Arem, the Rolling Quartz bassist. I think that Arem is more of a stage name and RUMI is closer to her actual name. She is adding vlogs to her KZbin channel all of the time. She seems to be the most outwardly "rock girl" of all of them because her many tattoos and her persona. Rolling Quartz started as a merger of two bands. Arem and the guitarist Iree had been in one band while the other three were in another. Apparently Arem intimated those three quite a bit when they first met. Arem is the oldest, followed by Iree, but they are all very close in age (late 20s). Arem is a Lovebites fan, because, in one of her vlogs, she went to a Lovebites concert. She is also, along with the drummer, a big horror movie fan. The rock/metal scene is small in most countries but I think it is really small in South Korea. For Rolling Quartz to grow in popularity, overseas touring will be a must. They have already been to the US and I think they were in Australia earlier this month. Like Nemophila, they formed right before the pandemic so they relied on online content to gain an audience. Now they are going to have to be road warriors like Band-Maid. They have the talent to eventually achieve Band-Maid type success. In fact, if Band-Maid and The Warning ever decide to do a big tour together, they should bring Rolling Quartz along for the ride.

Her real name actually is Kim Arem (or Gim Areum if you use the official transcription), with Kim being the family name of course. Rumi is more like a diminutive form.
@danw60482 ай бұрын
@@oliphant2848 Yes, when I dived deeper, I have seen everything from Kim A Reum to Kim Areum to even Kim Ahm. The name Kim Areum seems to be the most prevalent. Like many diminutive forms of names, Rumi was probably her nickname growing up.

Such a cool band, They have a very unique style, and they are 100% rock, they have some songs that are a little but mild, but I think they have a very special sound that will resonate with a lot of people. The vocals from Ja young are amazing and work perfectly for the Band's structure. I am not a fan of K-pop, so I am happy that Korea has an awesome rock band with great vocals, this is 100% rock music. Great reaction! Check out their song called "Victory". Since It is likely that Ja young is reading this, Hello there 😉.

About bloody time guys ! 😉 You've been missing out BIG TIME . This song is actually a cover of a song by another Korean artist called Maya from 2003 which was based on an extremely evocative poem by Korea's most famous poet Kim Sowol ( who was only 32 when he died in 1934 and published only one book of poems - which included Azaleas in 1925 ) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJbEn3iKjqmLabM and it's worth a listen . There original songs like " Blaze " , " Fearless " and " Victory " are worth a listen and they do some brilliant covers notably Lady GaGa's " Bad Romance " and Dreamcatcher's " Good Night " ENJOY !

I really recommended rewatching with lyrics. On the surface it's a love song, a desperate love, even covering the path of their lover with flowers if they'd leave. But the poem it's referring to had a hidden meaning, being written during japanese occupation and avoiding censure. So the love angle turns to a cynical remark about Japan leaving! This same rebel vibe was also in the song by Maya from 2003, but then linked to SK's transition into and modern democratic nation. I don't remember exactly, but it was kind of an anthem I think. As SK was a dictatorship well into the 90s, it has all kinds of cultural and technological changes of 4-5 decades all squished into a very short time. So lots of nostalgia is very intense. In some kpop MV's I saw a bunch of reference to cassette tapes, rollerblades and a fellow fan explained this to me. SK also kinda skipped radio and went straight to TV, that explains a bit why MV's are so important and so good, and airtime isn't that much.

⭐ FYI - Asaf & Itai ⭐ Rolling Quartz are an Indie rock 🎸 band. RQ 💎 formed when 2 Korean rock bands - Rolling Girlz & Rose Quartz - decided to pool their talents and become one. Hence their name - Rolling Quartz. They debuted in 2020 under Rolling Star Entertainment with the single and MV 'Blaze'. RQ 💎 is comprised of 5 members: Jayoung 💛 🎤, Hyunjung 💙 🎸, Iree ❤️ 🎸, Arem 🖤 B🎸, and Yeongeun 💜 🥁 . RQ 💎 Name Pronunciations: 🖤 Ah - Rem 💙 Hyun - Jung ❤️ Eye - Ree 💜 Young - En 💛 Jah - Young . RQ 💎 toured the US 🇺🇲 in 2023, and UK & Europe early 2024. Both tours were very well received. They've already announced their 2nd Europe Tour which will commence in early 2025. Initially it was 10 concerts, in 8 different countries. But just recently RQ 💎 added 3 new concerts to the Tour - Oslo 🇳🇴 , Copenhagen 🇩🇰 , and Stockholm 🇸🇪 . This expands the Europe Tour to a total of 13 concerts, in 11 different countries 🇬🇧 🇳🇱 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 🇪🇸 🇮🇹 🇵🇱 🇫🇮 🇳🇴 🇩🇰 🇸🇪 . The Tour is set to commence in January 2025. RQ 💎 also toured Australia 🇦🇺 for the first time in early September 2024. I watched them at their Melbourne 🇦🇺 concert on 06SEP24. The RQ 💎 girls were rocking 🎸- they were excellent Live !! 😊

They are good fun to watch. They daly face the challenge of sound better than you look. The original song version is from the singer Maya, the group DIH (also Korean), has a very different take

Foreigners who know the lyrics of Azalea and the great Korean poet Kim So-wol who wrote these lyrics will know how well-made this song is. Reviews that simply say how the music is and how the vocals are are reviews that do not know the value of this song at all.
