How can anyone not like Suga? I am not a fan of rap, but BTS - and especially Suga - are different. Suga performs solo songs under the name Agust D, and you may want to check him out. A word of warning though, if you check out Suga/Agust D, you'll naturally want to explore the rest of the Rap Line, which will lead you to BTS themselves (and you'll be blown away by the variety of styles), and then you'll find yourself exploring the Vocal Line. And before you know it, you're so far down the BTS rabbit hole, you'll never find your way back. And you'll never want to.💜 Also, thy have a LOT of fans in their 40s, 50s,60s, and 70s. I remember when mtv music award had stages like this long time ago. Real performance and not only sing and grooving. Singers like Britney Spears, NSync, they add dramatic flair to their performance which is now a bit missing. Unplugged or acoustic music is still good, but it is on different taste than dance or pop music (imo). So I appreciate this performance so much.

If I'm going to talk about their connections, I have to talk about how the kpop industry works. If you strive to be a kpop artist, you first have to sign with a company and be a trainee. Many people train for years before they ever debut. All of the BTS members came from different backgrounds. (From oldest to youngest): Jin wanted to become an actor and originally signed with the Big Hit (Now also known as Hybe) to do just that. Suga grew up poor but had a passion for producing music as an underground rapper. J-Hope was a dancer who tried signing with a more popular company but was rejected. RM was an underground rapper as well and was the first to sign, becoming the leader of the group. Jimin was a dance student at an Arts school and studied contemporary dance. V is the son of farmers and he went with his friend to an audition for the company to support him. One of the staff ended up convincing him to audition and he passed. Jungkook auditioned for a singing show but was rejected. He caught the attention of other companies and ended up signing with Hybe at a young age (around 15). All of them lived together and grew as close as brothers as time went on. They're a found family in a way. Each of them are super talented and have such a love for each other and their fans. Incredibly humble and kind individuals.

Their audience is a wide range of ages! I'm 24 this year, and for reference the members are ages 24-29. I have friends that are in their 30s (one of them has a mom who's also an army!) And another friend of mine just turned 41 😊 but of course, there's the kid and teen fans as well~ Good music is good music, and they truly bring so many different kinds of people together with their art 💜

Kpop groups are usually put together and train together, they spend so much time together that they usually become something like a family. BTS have a very close dynamic to the point where they now feel incomplete without one another.

Yea, BTS!! This is a great intro to their pop side. They do SO many genres though, and are rooted in hiphop. Maybe check out their song Black Swan for another side of them (you'll need the CC on). Or for more dance-heavy stuff, check out ON Kinetic Manifesto. For a good live vocal from the vocal line, maybe check out House of Cards live. If you're more interested in their come-up, maybe check out: - A Most Beautiful Life Goes On (updated version) by the Asian Theory. - This is BTS by XCeleste I'm 43 and have never been into boy bands -- but these guys are really something else. :)

69 year old silver ARMY. I've been a follower for 7 years. Singing, rapping, dancing, composing, producing & even directing. These young men are inspirational. Their artistry is fantastic. Their message & charitable contrubutions? Nobody in the business comes close. Suga was the first rapper that you liked. RM (their leader) was the second. They did not know each other before being put together as trainees and they have very distinct personalities, but they now form a tight brotherhood and genuinely love each other. Tip of the iceberg, but hope this helps.

BTS's classic sound is the old-school hiphop sound, they have a lot of songs that are reminiscent of 80s/90s/2000s hiphop, RnB, pop songs. So actually a lot of people in their 30s and 40s like BTS, I think cause it reminds them of the songs they grew up with, from their younger days. BTS started out as a hiphop group, because the group was formed around their rappers, 2 of whom were well-known underground rappers prior to BTS. Their rappers are very skilled and well-versed in hiphop, especially the golden age of hiphop. If you check out the BTS song Hip Hop Lover, they pay homage to hiphop and reference many legendary MC rappers, DJs and producers who shaped hiphop in the 80s and 90s, like Gang Starr, Rakim, Pete Rock, etc. They also reference a lot of legendary rap albums. Only true hiphop heads would be able to catch all the references in that song. Their rappers' skills aren't showcased in their title tracks and viral songs, those songs of theirs are gonna lean more towards pop. The mainstream doesn't promote their hiphop heavy work, so you'll have to venture away from their viral songs to see what they are capable of in rap. Hip Hop Lover that I just mentioned above is one of their rap-heavier tracks. As is Born Singer, which is their own rendition of Born Sinner by J. Cole, they sample the beat. No music vid, here's a live performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpS4gmaie5iShZo Each of their 3 rappers also wrote/produced their own solo rap mixtapes. They spent millions to make their rap solo work and released all their songs for free, it's a true passion. Here's some suggestions for their mixtapes: - Joke by RM - Monster by RM - Agust D by Agust D - Daechwita by Agust D - Daydream by J-Hope - Baseline by J-Hope (John Cena's favorite J-Hope song) Their rapper J-Hope even paid $2.7 million to the original artist to re-make the popular 2000s hiphop song Chicken Noodle Soup by Webstar and Young B, and released his version for free. He did it just to pay homage to his own hiphop dancing roots, as he was a trained hiphop dancer prior to BTS. He shelled out more money to film a music video. BTS even has neo-soul songs, one of them is called Singularity. It's a solo by their vocalist V, and their rapper RM is the primary songwriter for it, he wrote it specifically with V in mind. Here's the music vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmnRoXd9Z9qfgbM I'll link you a very good "Intro To the 7 Members of BTS" video by Taylor Nakamoto, hope to see you react to it! Don't worry about the length of the video, viewers will watch a reaction no matter how long it is. Taylor's vid has the most up-to-date info about each member. Her vid also provides better and more complete info than other Intro vids, when it comes to introducing each member. Her vid is titled "draft" cause she's still taking suggestions on how to make improvements, but the vast majority of comments all agree hers is already the best made Intro vid so far. Here's the link, there's text you have to read, so feel free to pause and/or rewind whenever you need to: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2HQkIGlYsSZfdk If you hit the left arrow key on your keyboard once, it takes you back 5 seconds on a youtube video. Hit it twice and it'll take you back 10 seconds. I noticed you using your mouse to rewind the video, so it seems maybe you don't know you can use the arrow buttons? I do think it's easier to use the arrow keys. Or maybe you know, but you just prefer using the mouse? If that's the case, just do whatever you prefer! Also, this Grammy performance is nothing compared to the insanely amazing performances they have done before. Still a great performance, but I consider it an averagely good one for them. I know some comments might suggest for you to watch their MMA performances cause those are the most legendary, but those are better to watch after you have heard all the songs from the set list individually first. The set list for their 2019 MMA is very long, I don't suggest that for now. Their 2018 MMA set list only has 3 songs - Fake Love, Airplane Pt. 2, and Idol. You can watch the music videos for those songs individually first, and then watch the 2018 MMA performance.

BTS debuted in 2013 as a hip hop idol group, but they are very versatile as they have songs from various genres of rap, EDM, R&B, pop, rock vibes, jazzy, new soul, etc. In their discography you will find that most of the songs are in Korean, they have 3 songs in English and some in Japanese. They are 4 vocalists and 3 rappers; although it may be that the rappers sing or that the vocalists have to rap. They all dance although 4 make up the dance line. They held auditions at different times and joined Big Hit as trainees (2010 rap line, 2011 3 vocal line and 2012 the last), after various evaluations where trainees were eliminated, they are the ones that the company selected for join the group. Since they became trainees, they lived in the company's dormitories and as a group they have shared an apartment (currently they all have their own apartments, but by personal decision they spend most of their time living in the one they bought together); In addition, they have overcome many obstacles together, which has made them a true family, they are brothers. Army (the fandom) is made up of people who are of various nationalities (spanning all continents), beliefs, race, ideology, language, gender and age; from little ones of 1 or 2 years to people of 90, even the majority of the fandom exceeds 30 (that is, we are older than them). They are loved by all of us, among other things, thanks to their beautiful, simple and bright personalities; for not being afraid to raise their voices through their songs dealing with issues of mental health, social problems, personal growth, self-love, etc; for its excellent vocalists and extraordinary rappers; for their great choreography. Their professionalism is something that distinguishes them, would you think that a couple of days before it was still not known if they could make that presentation? They were able to rehearse all 7 for a few hours the day before. Jin, who is sitting down, is recovering from an operation on his hand so he couldn't perform the dance break moves. Jungkook, the main vocalist who was the one who went down, was in quarantine in Las Vegas and got out of it the day before. J-Hope one of the rappers (he already participates when they are in the center circle at the end and is one of the main dancers) he left quarantine 5 days before but had to wait to travel and arrived the day before in Las Vegas.

If you dive into their work they are perfectionists in a few genres not only pop.. many of their vids are a lot like drama performances and they individually have talent specialties from rap to dance to vocal... they are not a one trick pony and have been together 10 years. Korean entertainers come up through the ranks in a really different way. They are called Idols and they are hand picked by companies and trained sometimes for years before "debuting" their group. BTS is obviously the most famous with tons of awards and broken records under their belt. They have been making inroads to the American industry over the past few years and are now becoming household names. Besides their enormous talent, they are simply good people who have spent a great deal of time focusing much of their music on helping the youth of the world cope. They have spoken at the UN General Assembly at least twice and performed there at the last Assembly. They are well known for their dance and they have a ton of content on youtube all the way back to when they began. Their rise has been incredibly difficult. They are humble, they don't trash talk, they respect people.... you won't hear them trashing women or minorities or anyone.... very literally good people who can bring much to music around the world. Watch "ON" (kinetic manifesto) and "Mic Drop" (Steve Aoki) and "Black Swan" if you want to see some of the differences in their genres.

You might like the rap line of BTS (Suga, JHope andRM)live performance of Outro “Tear” (wearing Dior) , it’s breathtaking . Another great intro to them is the MV for “On” Kinetic Manifesto. They are so unique you can’t pigeon hole them after one song. They’ve been doing this for 10 years now when the youngest (Jungkook, who came down from the ceiling) was only 15, so they have an extensive back catalogue. Also, Each member could have a successful solo career in their own right. It may be a cultural thing, them being from South Korea but so far they haven’t found it necessary to cover their performances with half dressed women. That’s an achievement in itself in this business.Their talent and hard work is enough.

Great to see a reaction from someone genuinely new to BTS. Jungkook was the one coming down from the ceiling. While he was waiting up there another award was given out and he clapped them from up there. Such a cool dude. This was a heist of the art on the walls. The card V was showing Olivia Rodriguez was the key card to get them into the art museum. Jin was controlling the operation. Sooo all us oldies are putting you straight about their fans' demographic. I'm 69 and they sing such a wide range of genres that there is something for everyone. I am even a fan of their rap. Rappers, RM, SUGA and J-Hope have drawn me in. You have to do a bit of work if you want to get the most out of BTS. Their best songs, IMO, are the ones they sing mostly in their native Korean. You have to find out what the lyrics mean or you are missing a lot. Find Doolset Lyrics for the best translations. Don't be fooled by what seem to be light hearted, fun songs because they often cover problems being experienced in South Korea today. 'Go Go', 'Baepsae' and 'Dope' being just some of those. Then, of course, you have to learn their names and be able to recognise them. A little bit of work will pay great dividends and you will find out about seven wonderful young men who are insanely talented. Join us down the BTS rabbit hole. It's comfy, cozy and lots of fun down here.

So, 46-year-old fairly new fan here - and yes, a lot of their music, especially their early work, has been aimed at a younger audience - because THEY were young, and it's the main fanbase/market share for your typical K-pop idol group. But the themes they adress are universal, and they've attracted a large adult/elderly following as well - they tackle depression, loneliness, self-worth, inequality and so on, in a great number of genres; yes, they do pop, but also neo-soul, pure rap, R&B, etc., etc. Listen to Ddaeng or Daechwita, then do V's Singularity or House of Cards for contrast. And their music videos are out of this world - ON: Kinetic Manifesto, Black Swan, Mic Drop - they're all great.

Their repertoire includes anything from neosoul to battle style rap and they often adress heavier subjects like socio-economic issues, mental health problems, self-scrutiny, etc. They even incorporate concepts like greek mythology, classic litterature, art works, psychology and famous quotes and have even spoken at the UN three times so far regarding youth, environment and Unicef. Their generousity have inspired countless philanthropic projects all around the world. The reason Butter sounds light and poppy is because their english songs were released during the pandemic and were meant to cheer up ARMY.
