IMHO, Singularity does not belong in the "sexy songs" list that you think Lauren would like. The only way it fits there is if you completely ignore the lyrics. The character is deeply troubled and trapped in intense loneliness, part of the MOTS exploration of the inner vs outer being.

RM wrote the lyrics because he came to terms with liking his own very visible dimples. It is said that the vocal line came up with the choreo ans was supposed to be taking the mickey out of RM and his dimples but they created a whole new narrative with their hip thrusts. Singularity, My Time, Filter the solos of the dancing vocal line are all very, very sensual.

Laura: You have some really pretty dimples yourself. 💜 "Dimple" was written by RM about his own dimples. Legend has it he wanted the song for himself and had to be talked into giving the song to the vocal line. There is actually a video where we see the hip thrust big time by all four of them. This was rather tame in comparison. And a lot of Solo stuff actually his a thing about themselves (on "Wings" or "Map of the Soul:7") or part of a storyline ("Singularity" (Taehyung) is part of the "Love Yourself"-Area and between "Outro: Her" and "Fake Love": The Intro to "LY: Tear, the second Album; "Serendibity" (Jimin) is the Intro to the whole storyline on "LY: Her" and "Epiphany" (Jin) is the conclusion on "LY: Answer"). And than there are the mixtapes... Loved this reaction! 💜

There are solo songs that are part of the BTS albums and fit into the overall theme and part of the narrative. V's "Singularity" is one of them, as it's the intro to "Love Yourself: Tear". Some of the others are Jimin's "Filter" and "Serendipity", to name some that were already mentioned in the comments. RM's "Persona", Suga's "Shadow", and J-hope's "Ego" are in fact the core of their Map of the Soul album series. So these songs should be included in your exploration of BTS, otherwise it would be incomplete. But there are also solo songs *outside* BTS, which are personal projects. The rap line's mixtapes, for example. Or V's "Winter Bear", "Snow Flower", and others. Jin's "Super Tuna". Some OST songs from V and Jin (their recent "Christmas Tree" and "Yours", respectively, are really good.) You can explore these if you're interested in the members or like their particular music styles. For solo work outside BTS, they usually write their own songs and have complete creative freedom and usually reflect their personalities and music tastes more clearly. For solo work for BTS albums, the songs might be their own work or they might not. Both "Singularity" and "Serendipity" were written by RM, for example. "Truth Untold" by the vocal line was also written by RM.

The MV for Singularity is beautiful and seductive, playing V’s sultry vocals off against a slightly unexpected dance style and tempo. The song itself has a lot of depth. I love it.
