The power of these lyrics is matched by the power of Home Free's vocal instrumentation -- like a pipe organ with all the stops open. It's impossible not to be moved. We've all lost friends, brothers, fathers, and/or sisters.. We all mourn you sister is our own way. Thank you for sharing your sensitive reaction with us.

Im so sorry. When I was 12, my adult sister was murdered by her "best friend" over nothing. For acts of violence (barring self defense), there is no reason. People who do that for any sort of gain, end up losing what makes them human.

This is such a deep, powerful version of the Dire Straits original. The chorusing between the 2nd & 3rd verses reminds me of keening at a funeral. The harmonies & singing are so evocative. I always liked the Dire Straits version, but I only got really interested in this song through Home Free. (Although I have to be honest I think Dire Straits guitar playing is phenomenal) Yes, this version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body! This is so emotional. Beautifully sung by Tim and Chance, but the background and harmony of Adam, Rob and Austin is also so beautiful. It looks like a choir or actually a kind of church organ sounds. And the whole setting of the video is just amazing. Simple but with so many details that makes it so profound

How can someone NOT like Mark Knopfler's guitar. But I think The Home Free version (attanged by Club for 5) brings out the meaning even better, with their magnificent harmonies and crystal clear enunciation (often undervalued for meaningful lyrics).

You need never apologize for having an emotional reaction; it's raw honesty, and I thank you for it. Your reaction was how the song made you feel, not just the words at the end. I thank you for sharing your story about Nigeria and your sister. That was a gift from your heart. My brother told me to listen to this song (the original by Dire Straits) back in the 80s. So I did. He chose a hard life, and he died young. When Home Free released this, I reacted much like you. I knew that you were in for an emotional ride, and I felt every note along with you. And I cried, too. Always be real and in touch with your emotions, peace.

My condolences on the loss of your beloved sister. You do not need to apologize. We're fools to make war against our brothers (and sisters) in arms. This song was written by Mark Knopler of the British rock band Dire Straits in response to The Falkland War in the early 1980s. The Finnish capella group Club For Five arranged it for a capella. Club For Five graciously allowed Home Free to use their arrangement, with Tim only adding the echoes.

The song JUST started, and you said, "I like what I'm hearing." I have to say, and I'm sure others will agree.... you absolutely MUST get headphones. A cappella cannot be appreciated fully with mono (just one ear) or even 'regular' speakers, unless they are outstanding. There is too much nuance for a single ear bud to capture. I'm reading the comments as I write this. I'm sure you will enjoy this, even without headphones. After you break down and buy some GOOD headphones, listen to this again. You will thank me and all the others who will "insist" that you get better audio equipment. 🙂
