As everyone has commented it is a message to Mori's dad,but lyrically it can be interpretted in many ways(ex partner,friend or family member). Dave is the songwriter of the 2,but he is helping Mori to enhance her skills in lyricism. Hope down the line you can react to the sunset version which is emotionally packed and the original Music video which has a lot of symbolism.

The original music video has great cinematography filmed by her husband Dave. The guitar player was the music director for this song. All the background voices was Morissette’s voice including the male sounding one, which is her voice slowed down.

If you prefer a version where you can just focus on her vocals then I suggest you should watch the sunset version of this song. In my opinion it’s the best version of LYS. There are two instruments in this performance- a Cello and a keyboard playing along side her phenomenal voice. It’s a must!

Sad, but what makes this song special, is that it is UNIVERSAL! I agree to that. Cindy and Mori could be good buddies. They seem to jibe. I've said it before in previous RVs, but they seem to have a "connection". Not only is Cindy very appreciative of Mori, they were wearing the same colors every time, by coincidence, at least in the last three RVs that I have watched. It was lavender in "A Whole New World", yellow in the "Signature EP Interview with Nina", and now black, in the live band and RX monster radio videos. If Cindy and Ryan featured the official MV, they would see Mori dressed beautifully in black. 😊

Love when both of you do back-to-back reactions to Mori’s songs, esp with different versions of the same song! Maybe, after your reaction to the first version, you could just quickly read thru the comments to find out the context of the song. Case in point, Love You Still becomes a deeper and different song when you realize it’s actually about her relationship with her father vs your initial thoughts about the song being about her husband or another person. Her father didn't approved Dave, because Dave left Mori when they were still 17 or 19 years old. Dave and Mori had a mutual decision to take a break from their relationship. Dave left for US. Though it was a mutual decision between them. Mori was heartbroken, and her Father saw it all. They managed to take care and supported Mori despite everything. They were still young though...until Dave came back, and pursue to restore the relationship with Mori again. Mori loves Dave so much...and so Dave with Mori, that's why he came back for her. But sad to say, her parents especially Mori's overprotective father is now skeptical with Dave. I don't take sides, we all have our own struggles in life, but I hope soon they will all be fine.

As always a great reaction, now part 2 is not the offiziell Video this is from the live Band where she sang all 5 songs from her EP, there is a new arrangement from last month in the tone Studio with Dave and with only chello and keyboard, it's very emotional, now Dave came with the idea for this song to Mori and had writen some of the song, then Mori wrote for the first time everything from the heart, the pain she is in being separated from her father who she loves so much, on there Wedding Video you don't see Mori's family, this is why Dave say's Mori gave up everything for him, Mori is still the bread winner for the family, she had a house built for whole family before this with her father really got bad, one time her father said something so bad just before Mori should have gone on stage to sing, she burst out crying and could not sing, it was the only time Mori could not perform, I think her father did not want to let go the control over her, but her love to Dave was stronger, happy valentines day to you both and to Dave and Mori.

Thank you, Cindy and Ryan, for this reaction. Glad to know Cindy can relate to this one too as she did for "Phoenix" and "Mirror". There are two more songs from her "Signature" EP -- "Will You Stay" and "Trophy", hope you can also feature them in future reaction videos. Mori and Dave wrote this song as a personal message to her family, particularly her father, who has not talked to her since 2019, because he disapproved her relationship with Dave. Through the lyrics, we can feel the longing of someone to reach out to a loved one, separated by distance or by circumstances. I think Mori and Dave did not specifically mentioned the word "father" or "dad" in the lyrics, so that it will have a universal appeal and not just limited to her own ordeal, that's why you too were able to relate to it in your own experience. The second video is not the official music video though. I think you should have featured that MV instead. It has a nice cinematography, like that of a movie trailer. And, yes, the sunset version, which has a different vibe and feeling, more intimate, was released after you have done this RV. I suggest you can watch them on your own private time, just to appreciate the beauty, artistry, and hard work Mori and her team put to them.
