First time reaction to, "Magic Shop", by BTS (Ep.7 BTS Journey)

This is the first time I've ever listened to, "Magic Shop", by BTS. This is my reaction and review. Thanks for listening with me and thanks for the song suggestions!

The amount of hardship and hate BTS had to endure and rise above when they were trying to make it from an underfinanced small corporation was enormous. This song tells how it wasn't all that clear that they would make it despite a lot of hard work and talent. What got them over the hump was ARMY's support and dedication. BTS is both saying how much that means to them and how much they want to be able to give back to any ARMY suffering through hardships in their life.

This is one of ARMY’s comfort songs. Thank you for your sincere reaction! 💜 Could I request your reaction to “Answer: Love Myself”? It’s my favorite song by them because of the lyrics. It’s very uplifting and inspiring, especially to anyone who has dealt with negative self-image and self-acceptance, which I definitely have in my life (I’m 38).

Being part of that purple ocean at a BTS concert is indescribable! The sheer positive synergy between BTS & ARMY is like a spiritual experience! I found them later (Butter), & am forever grateful I got to see them in LA/LV!! And I'm a 48yo non-KPop or Hip Hop fan! Their sincerity, proacitve-ness, perseverance, & genuine love for ARMY is what makes such loyal fans. Plus they are all top-tier talent with hearts of gold, & are adorable, goofy, humble dorks who give so much of their lives to us in content! Truly legends.

@@chestnutmountainboys Yes, sometimes holographic whales are "swimming" around, too. The lightsticks are bluetoothed to form patterns based on seating; between that, fanchants, & BTS own engagement w/ fans the concerts are very interactive & full of shared positive energy! Whales have significance w/ BTS/ARMY from their song 'Whalien 52' (inspired by the real story of a whale who can't sing/hear in the same frequency as other, he's been dubbed 'The World's Loneliest Whale'); AND from at least one of their songs dedicated to ARMY 'We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal' (WAB:TE)-the MV incorporated the whale as BTS support to help us/them reach greater heights. Purple whales are a full on icon in the fandom, appearing in official games, art, tattoos, merch! 💜 They really are the real deal, so unique & sincere; besides obv talent/looks/charm.

Not the fans, per se, just the experience of being in that sea of lightsticks is so evocative; look at a few stadium pics/clips to see how "purple ocean" came to common terminology! 💜

I found my twin 😂 I discovered BTS during their Butter era too, and saw them live in Los Angeles (my hometown) and drove all the way to Las Vegas for them haha. You described it perfectly, it's so easy to fall in love with them and their personalities. Easily fell into the rabbit hole. Gotta thank youtube's algorithm for somehow recommending me a BTS video, thank the lord I clicked on it out of curiosity. It's a privilege to be able to be in the purple ocean, one I'm never taking for granted. I can't wait til BTS reunite with ARMY again in the future, I'm sure we'll all eagerly be waiting for their return 💜

BTS got their wisdom from their journey. But they also started out with a lot of wisdom, especially RM, their group leader. Jungkook wrote this song for ARMY, and the rap line added their verses.

Thank you for reacting to “Magic Shop.” Its such a special song. BTS really loves their fans and they love the participation of the audience when they sing. I have so many favorite songs, but I’ll suggest “Paradise” and “Airplane, part 2,” just for variety. By the way, there are also dance practice videos, the making-of videos for their videos, lyric videos. Sometimes the translations are off or the reference is a Korean cultural idea that doesn’t make sense in English or to Americans. I like some of their B-side songs that are less well known than songs like “Mic Drop” or “Black Swan.” Those songs are classics but some of the lesser known songs should not be “lesser known.” I hope your own concert goes well tonight. Thank you for continuing your journey! I'm glad I'm here for it! You might want to check out doolset BTS for lyrics, they're the best. It's not a video or anything, you just Google doolset BTS and the song name. Not only do they have the most accurate lyrics, they will include notes to explain cultural references, or if they give a nod to other songs or things that they've said, they rly do a good job. I tried to suggest this on your anpanman reaction but for some reason I didn't see a comment section. 💜 🙂 This song has been a huge comfort to me since my husband of 30 years died Jan 1. They help me through it all and make me want to be a better person in the process 💜

I’m so glad that you are falling down the BTS rabbit hole with us. This is a wonderful song. Their Fifth Muster was called Magic Shop and they performed a skit based on the song where a troubled Jungkook visits the Magic Shop to find the answer to said troubles. Jimin, the shopkeeper sends him into visit each member who tries to help him but nothing works until they find the shoes he wore at the beginning of his career and they bring him solace and joy. It’s available through the Weverse Shop. I’ve tried to find it on KZbin but have only ever found the song not the skit. The rest of the Muster is great so it’s worth buying.

What a great reaction. I think you are definitely starting to see where BTS are coming from. Understanding the hard work and honesty they put into all aspects of their work and knowing this all comes from a good place is what sets them apart. One of my favourite BTS tracks is PARADISE. Besides being an amazing R&B track with killer vocals and rap, the lyrics are so meaningful. No video, so you should do a lyric video and a live.💜
