Fun trivia: 2018 was not the first time they performed Black on Black. They first did it (with fewer members) in 2016 (their debut year) as part of a dance showcase at the MAMA award show. And Jisung still led them from the centre at 14 years old. That's part of why it is a more dance focused piece, it was originally intended to be for that purpose.

No need to worry about the names, you are doing really good! I think it is easier to memorize the names once you know their personality. For that, I recommend a fan channel called neo chaotic. The videos there are the perfect introduction. Or the series on their on channel, like 7llin in the dream. Also, dance practices are a must when it comes to NCT. NCT 2020's "Resonance" MV is a mashup of 4 songs from their Resonance album -- “Make A Wish (Birthday Song),” “Raise The Roof,” “90’s Love,” and “Work It.” "Raise the Roof" features all 23 members at the time and the other 3 songs -- which, as you have seen, each also have an MV -- feature the members who participate in that track on the album. NCT 2020 "Resonance" was a special project that NCT did in 2020 to introduce their two newest members at the time.This is sort of similar to their 2018 "Black on Black" special project with NCT-2018 when they had 18 members. Then in 2019 they introduced 3 new members to the group when they debuted WayV, which made the group 21 members strong. And then in 2020 they debuted 2 new members Shotaro and Sungchan. So at this point NCT had 23 members. (Yep everyone you see in this MV is a member of NCT.) When Sungchan and Shotoro were introduced, SM said that they would become members of a new NCT sub-unit. However, after more than 2 years, Sunchan and Shotoro still had not become a member of any permanent NCT unit. Then in 2023 it was announced that they would be leaving NCT and instead become the co-leaders of SM's new boy group, RIIZE. You should really watch the behind the scenes of their "Resonance" project, it's super cool to see all the members of NCT interacting with each other, and for a lot of the members this was the first time that they really got to work with some of the members of NCT. So it was a lot like a giant class or family reunion and we got to see fun interactions between members that we don't often get to see, kzbin.info/www/bejne/imHWhnuia995mKc. If you like NCT's dancing you have to check out their dance practice videos. NCT are known for their dancing and they have a dance practice video for almost all of their MVs, so you should pair your reactions to future NCT songs with their dance practices as well. ;D And yes, if you want to see them perform "Resonance" in concert, just check out their recent NCT-Nation concert, which was a concert tour that started last year and includes all 20/26 members of NCT. At one time each member of NCT had a Jersey with a number on it for their sports days and I think the keys' numbers correspond to that. Because we see them burning the keys, my interpretation is that they're shedding their old selves and turning a "new page". The key Mark is holding feels like the key to the new page because it has no number on it, but looks like it has some neo symbols. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! lol

Those are their designated numbers. They have a designated numbers from their SM Rookies era but later on they changed it. Dream members started using their numbers from their we go up era while 127 just used their numbers during their neozone era and wayv from their awaken the world era. "Beautiful" was a special song that NCT did in 2021 as a collaboration between all the members of NCT as a final song to wrap up their new album, NCT 2021 - Universe. (There are 21 members in this MV -- Lucas and WinWin, two members of WayV, were unable to participate in this project.) This album has songs from each of the different sub-units designed to represent them: NCT-U "Universe (Let's Play ball)," NCT-Dream "Dreaming", WayV "Miracle" and NCT-127 "Earthquake." In the "Beautiful" MV, it actually shows the journey some of the members took in order to become members of NCT. Overall, the story depicts the struggles that the members, and young people in general, face as they go about their lives. From the pressure students face to the hardships athletes need to overcome, or the workload that never stops piling up, you see them all never giving up as they continue to chase their dreams. This song is supposed to be a commentary on self-love, reminding listeners the world shines brighter when individuality is celebrated. As Johnny says in the beginning, “You’re the most important person in your life/ So be yourself/ Be beautiful.” It encourages listeners to follows their dreams, no matter how rocky their journey gets. As they say in the rap section, “This time you can face the rain/ Next time you can beat the pain/ No more tears will come again/ Smiling laughing to the end”. This is another MV where you should check out the behind the scenes footage of them filming the MV to see how everything was created. I'm telling you, if you really want to get to know the members better a good way to do that is to watch their behind the scenes and uncut vocal recording and uncut dance practice videos.

Yes, NCT-2018's "Black on Black" is a special performance MV so it is designed to highlight the group's dance skills, it's not really about the song. ("Black on Black" is a b-side track from NCT's Empathy album that actually only features Taeyong, Mark and Lucas in the song.) This performance just highlights another aspect of what makes NCT so talented. If I remember correctly, they actually debuted this performance as a special live stage showcase, before the MV was released, or maybe in tandem with the MV. So they can do all this live, too. NCT-2018 was a special project created by SM Entertainment in 2018 because, at the time, there were 18 members in NCT and SM thought it was a cool contrast that the number of members reflects the year. (Kun -- the leader of WayV -- debuted as a member of NCT-2018 and he was the one that was added to the group to make them equal 18 members.) So they created this performance for "Black on Black" to highlight NCT. All of NCT's members are part of this performance, except YangYang, Hendery and Xiaojun because they had not debuted until 2019 when WayV was created; and SungChan and Shotaro didn't debut until "Resonance" in 2020. As you can see, the level of talent in NCT is insane. But when you really think about it, think of the level of telent SM Entertainment has as a whole. That is why SM commands the top spot and why it's one of the big 3 entertainment companies in Korea and around the world. We wouldn't expect anything less than top talent. And just think, there are dozens of more trainees, just waiting to debut. SM cultivates talent. And that is why the company has become known as a powerhouse for vocals and dancing skills. All of its artist are super multi-talented. You know someone must be extra special if they are part of SM. You can't even debut as an SM artist without having superior vocals and/or dance skills, that's just the criteria for being an SM artist. :D SM Entertaiment is the founder of everything we know of as Kpop today and they have some of the most legendary and talented groups. SM's talent is really never ending. Which is even more mind blowing when you think of everyone who is under SM, such as Super Junior who had 15 members, Girls Generation had 9 members, EXO had 12 members, plus all the company's smaller groups -- TVXQ, SHINee, F(x), Red Velvet, aespa, BoA, Kangta, SuperM, etc. and all of these groups and artists are known for having some of the best singers, dancers and performers. Taeyong is the official leader of NCT, so no matter what sub-unit you are talking about, he is the leader of everyone (Although, Kun is the leader of WayV and Mark is the captain of NCT-Dream. They all defer to Taeyong as the leader when they are all together.) Taeyong has a prominent role in almost everything they do. Plus, as you may know, he is one of NCT's best dancers, he is a main rapper and he is a songwriter and producer. Because Taeyong is so multi-talented SM features him a lot in its projects, either within NCT or even outside of the group. Some even say that Taeyong and Mark are SM's favorite NCT members because they get the most parts in every project. But Taeyong stands out because he has that leader quality that makes the leader of Kpop groups different then the other members. Leaders are just born to be leaders, and Taeyong is a good example of that. Fun fact: If you notice, when Mark first appears in the beginning, when he jumps over Taeyong, etc., he says, " ... NCT, we the dream team ..." NCT's whole group concept is all centered around dreams and dreaming, so they as a whole are the team that is all about dreams. And the blond guy in the center in the middle of the dance break section -- the one with the skills at popping -- was Jisung. Jisung was the maknae (youngest) of the whole NCT group at the time, (He was the youngest member for 7 years, but now that NCT-WISH is about to debut, Sakuya, who is currently 16, is the youngest member now.) Jisung is also one of NCT's best dancers. He debuted with NCT-Dream when he was only 14 and he is known for potentially becoming SHINee's Taemin's carbon copy. (Taemin is one of the top two BEST dancers in all of Kpop. Kai being the other top dancer.) Jisung and Taemin are a lot alike. They both took similar paths as trainees with SM (both became trainees when they were around 11 years old), they both gave up their childhood to chase their dream as a dancer and performer, they both debuted when they were 14 and they have similar dance styles and personalities, etc. Jisung idolizes Taemin and Taemin says he sees his younger self in Jisung. (Taemin is about 9 years older than Jisung.) As you saw, former WayV and SuperM member Lucas was the rapper in the middle of the performance who told us to "freeze!!!", who was kneeling in front during the part where they were standing on each other. (Lucas debted as a member of NCT-U in their "Boss" MV, which came out a few months before "Black on Black" in 2018.) And as you have now seen, Ten is THE Soloist in NCT. He has the most solo projects of any of the members because he is their best/most skilled main dancer and he has beautiful vocals. Therefore, SM has given Ten a lot of solo songs and projects over the years. And that is why he was highlighted in this performance. Notice how the majority of the members who were the centers of this performance are also members of SuperM -- Taeyong, Mark, Ten and Lucas. And that is why SM chose them to be a part of that group, because they are the members of NCT who are some of the most talented, most popular and the ones that have that undefinable "it" factor.

"Golden Age" was NCT's group song for 2023. At this time they had 20 members because Sungchan and Shotaro had left the group to become members of RIIZE and Lucas -- after being on hiatus for more than 2 years due to a scandal -- had left the group to reportedly become an SM solo artist (rumored to redebut sometime this year). I am hoping this year we will get an NCT-2024 group project now that NCT has officially added 6 new members with the addition of their Japanese sub-unit NCT-WISH. NCT is now a 26 member group.

In nct 2018 we got 18 members Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung, and 3 new members join this year are Kun, Jungwoo and Lucas. In nct 2020 we got 23 members with 3 members from wayv that officially join in 2019 are Xiaojun, Hendery and Yangyang. And the newest adding member Shotaro and Sungchan. In nct 2021 we got 21 members that joint this project. Its because Lucas on hiatus periode because his rumours and winwin had a lot project in China so he cant participated in this album. In nct 2023 we got 20 members. Lucas officially left out the group, Shotaro and Sungchan transfered into Riize. And right now we got fix member of NCT without new member additional anymore. The newest japan unit is the last fix unit of NCT. So now there are 26 members of NCT. But for additional unit like NCT djj still can make it. Just no more new people. And you just be passionate if wanna see NCT concert because last year NCT Nation had been held. And it will took a long time for NCT whole team concert again because this year the Korean Members will starting enlistment into military. NCT 2020 is my fav, the members are complete. 23 member before NCT Wish (Japan unit), including Lucas, Sungchan and Shotaro. And they make NCT World 2.0 (variety show) wich is hilarious

Can’t remember if you ever checked out Seventeen or not but they do have videos where they switch parts. Not really singing. It’s more like they recreate the music video but switching parts. Adore U and Don’t Wanna Cry are my favorites! It’s called Part Switch Ver. You should check out the actual MV’s first and it would make more sense
