I am a passionate music fan as well as an actively performing mobile DJ. I grew up on the progressive rock movement of the 70s and decided it's finally time to check out some modern prog!! Please join me on this journey and enjoy/discover along with me.

Glad you picked this for a first Riverside song. I think this encapsulates so much (but not ALL) of thier sound. One of my all time favorites. I highly recommend the band Wobbler, specifically anything from the Rites of Dawn record. The vintage sound is so warm and the performances will make you smile.

Glad you liked Riverside....very consistently good band. One of their biggest achievements is that even when they wear their influences on their sleeves ,they always sound just like.... Riverside. They are a stand alone band. There's a Porcupine Tree sound , a Dream Theater sound ,an Opeth sound , AND a Riverside sound....

Can't go wrong with Riverside. Great band. Mariusz Duda is the vocalist and he also is the bass player.

Top top band. So many songs you could check out but the one I'd suggest is deprived. Masterpiece.

As one old prog guy to another, I got into modern prog about three years ago. Many, many excellent bands to hear. In my opinion, Steven Wilson, with and without Porcupine Tree, is the king. Would also suggest Transatlantic, IQ, Anglegard, Opeth, Big Big Train, Spock's Beard Maybe start where I did, with Luminol from Steven Wilson's masterpiece album, The Raven Who Refused to Sing.

Luminol by Steven Wilson live in Mexico City 2012 is an amazing version of that song 😉 It's from a live dvd Get All You Deserve 😉

Try out The Tea Club, something off Grappling. I'd recommend Dr. Abraham to a mature ear.

Riverside is excellent, although this song and album aren't amongst my favorites. It had been a long time since I listened to this and it was fun. Thanks!
