These numbers that they do where they break down the band into smaller units are terrific to me, because not only do they sound so unique but it gives an opportunity to appreciate more of the individual talents than you can get to see when they are all together, also a little taste of some Japanese culture with Yuko's dancing etc. Just more reasons why Wagakki Band have become one of my all time favourites.

Machiya's guitar is a 7 string Saga which has 29 frets instead of the normal 24. This gives him a greater variety of sound. He is also the most sought after session musician in Japan. Besides being the sound engineer for the band, he also has his own band, M.a.ture. Even before the band was formed, each member was and still is considered masters of their instruments and won numerous awards. Asa, the bass player is/was a Vocaloid producer and song writer with his own band before joining.

The flute is called a shakuhachi. The 3 stringed instrument is a shamisen and the drums are wadaiko as a collection.
