The lyrics play with the letter M. the prononciation of M( eng-Fr the same) gives "aime" which means Love. And they play with it the whole song M, Tandem,Idem, diadème, thème, math-elem, blême, sème, etc... impossible to translate and making any kind of sense... long story short, love can be deep, powerful, passionate at first but spoiled with time...

The guy who directed this video is JB Mondino, he also directed Axel Bauer's "Cargo". And the spoken words at the end "Paradis, c'est l'enfer" (Paradise is hell, but in a positive way in French) were also written by Gainsbourg, who loved aphorisms in the same way than Oscar Wilde.
