I just discovered VoicePlay about a year ago, and I think they are just incredibly talented. They do a lot of genres, lots of Disney songs/medleys, but also songs that you wouldn't expect an accapella group to be doing, like Aerosmith's Dream On and Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, and their latest 'Valhalla Calling' which has them dressed up like Vikings as they just crush the song. One thing that's always confusing to reactors when they start looking at VoicePlay is the fact that they've had a lot of changes in their lineup the past 3 years especially. The three members that you will always see are 1) Eli (pronounced to rhyme with jelly, not eee-lie), the guy on the far left in this song. His is bald (shaves his head) and has ditched the glasses in the past couple of years, and has differing amount of facial hair throughout the years, but I think you'll soon start to recognize him if you do more VP videos, 2) Geoff (the one you mistook for Tim Foust ), he actually only started growing his hair out around 2017, so in some really early videos you might not recognize him with really short hair, but you'll know the voice, LOL, and 3) Layne, the guy on the right, their beatboxer, who also occasionally sings baritone. The gentleman between Eli and Geoff is J None, the baritone member who left in 2021 to join the Navy, but has been back when on leave to join them for several songs, including Nothing Else Matters and Valhalla Calling. The guy between Geoff and Layne is Earl, sings really high tenor and left the group in 2020. After J None left, they eventually got Cesar in as a replacement, but still don't have a permanent fifth member, so most of the time you will see them singing with someone who's credited as a 'featured performer'. Geoff is such an incredible bass that he usually gets the majority of a reactors attention when they first start listening/watching to VoicePlay, but a lot of people realize pretty quickly that everyone in their group is massively talented, with incredible range and the ability to 'act the song' as needed and never gives anything less than 100%. VoicePlay is often called the 'theater kids' group of the accapella group and they certainly have a lot of videos where they are in costume and/or makeup and are really 'performing a role', but the other reason they deserve 'play' in their name is that, unlike some other accapella groups, they do like to inject a lot of humor into their songs and not take themselves too seriously (though they take the singing VERY seriously).

The Voiceplay rabbit hole is deep. They do so many different types of songs. Nothing Else Matters is phenomenal. Their latest is Valhalla Calling, so completely different than this song and super intense. They also can have a lot of fun as in their Disney songs like the Little Mermaid medley and We Don't Talk About Bruno. If I Were A Rich Man\Girl is one of my favorites. But there are so many more!

Thanks for your reaction! I am so glad that you have found 'Voice Play' and their bass singer, Geoff Castellucci. As a long time subscriber to your channel, I really like your appreciation for all genres of music and talent from different artists. I think you would love going down this Voice Play rabbit hole as they are an acapella group that is very different from Home Free and Pentatonix. Voice Play is a group from Orlando Florida with all their members and frequently featured guest having worked as performers for Universal and/or Disney theme parks. They are very theatrical and called the theater kids of acapella where as Pentatonix has more of a current Pop music approach and Home Free is a Country/Folk style. Big difference with Voice Play is they do all of their own production without a record label or contract-- beatboxer, Layne and former baritone singer, Tony Wakim own the studio where most of their production is done. Home town favorites for me as I live in central Florida and have always enjoyed musical theater and the different genres of music they cover so well. The black gentleman with the soulful voice here is J None, a former member of the group who left to join the Navy but comes back frequently while on military leave to sing with Voice Play. We are all hoping J None comes back to Voice Play permanently when his tour of duty is done. In the meantime, Voice Play has an extended family of frequently featured guests fill in for different covers of music (it may be confusing seeing different faces with them at first but you will get to know and love all of their guest singers quickly). Voice Play just recently released a cover of "Valhalla Calling" from the 'Assassin's Creed game (J None is featured in this one as well) that is blowing reactors and fans away! I would highly recommend that you check out "Valhalla Calling" to see how amazing Voice Play is at covering and combining different styles of vocal, different genres of music and the talent they have for theatrics and production as well as the singing-- you will love them!!

You should see the one they dropped on Friday! It's a viking song called Valhalla Calling. They did their usual thing and made it their own. It's really good! ❤

I never understand why people confuse Tim (Honefree) with Geoff (VoicePlay). They both sing low and sometimes have long hair, but really don't look alike at all. Very strange. Thank you for not comparing one version to another. They both have their own strengths. It's all good. Glad you liked it. It was the first song I first from them too, and it blew me away.

If you want to go down the rabbit hole, VoicePlay fans will be waiting for you there. They have over 800 videos and Geoff (Jeff) the bass has his own channel as well. They have been doing this since high school, so over 25 years. Layne is the beatboxer, Eli (rhymes with jelly) is a rock tenor, J None was a member but right now he is in the US Navy and comes out during leave to join back up and do some more videos: Friends on the Other Side, Nothing Else Matters, Valhalla Calling. Hoist the Colours, Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, I Can't Make You Love Me, and In the Hall of the Mountain King, oh, and Man in the Mirror are amazing as well.

I really enjoyed your reaction. Somehow I missed your reaction to Geoff, so I am going to go check out your backcatalog as soon as I finish subscribing. J, the second singer, has a beautiful soul sound. (And just got married)

Great reaction. Geoff is wonderful, Voiceplay is absolutely wonderful!! They did Metallica's Nothing Else Matters a couple of months ago, it is outstanding. They can do any genre, rock, pop, broadway, disney, classical, comedy. I'll recommend the one they did last month, Golden Hour. The video is kind of weird, but beautiful, sweet and romantic. Or, they did I Can't Make You Love Me last year. It will break your heart. Subscribed in anticipation of more Geoff and Voiceplay!

Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole, it's nice and warm and comfy here. Lots to explore and we'd love to watch your journey! They just dropped Valhalla Calling, but you should watch My Mother Told Me first. :) More suggestions: Nothing Else Matters, Warriors, Dream On (last two are also kinda part 1 and part 2), Halo, Running Up That Hill, Enemy, and any Disney song.
