Heya all. Just wanted to put up here that as this comment section blows up, with some great feedback, but also not so great stuff, I'm stepping back from that. There's a lot of division and hate, which is kind of sad considering that's exactly what the song is warning us about. I also realized I may have been contributing to it, I got baited, maybe even defensive, and that's not what I want to do. I also do not delete comments, I made mistakes, I own them. If I don't respond right away, or at all, that's why. I appreciate everyone who comes here, watches, shares, and comments. Even the negative ones help out small channels like mine so thank you. What I also do is admit when I don't know something. I'm sorry I didn't fill this review with all the things you want to hear. Some think it is bravery to just say whatever the popular stance is with whatever tribe or party you're affiliated with. That's fine. I'm the less brave soul willing to admit that when I do not have enough information about a topic, I tend to not speak like I'm fully informed. If you come to my reviews expecting me to say what you want to hear, or shout out slogans that you think are important, I'm afraid I'm not that guy. There are plenty of reactors out there who will parrot whatever is popular, or controversial for clicks. Have a blessed and happy New Year, and let's try to make our little part of the world a better place if we can.

Her name is Marguerite Clark, stage name "Iyah May", she is Australian raised by her mother and elders in a small town inside a rainforest and next to the sea in the northeast of Australia Doctor by profession, she graduated in the United States in 2016, between 2016-2019 she recorded a musical album with her own songs but also covers from other songs, because in addition to her profession she also likes to sing . During 2019 until 2024 she worked in a hospital and due to what she saw and experienced there she was inspired to write the lyrics of this song, but due to the same lyrics she was fired from the hospital, her manager abandoned her and the music record companies refused to record for her, which is why she uploaded this song to Spotify and Social Media exclusively.

Many more artists speak out about stuff but very often the lyrics is not this frank and upfront. As an example Muse’s song “The United States of Eurasia” is about the US’s history, involvements, profits and intentions regarding Israel and their plans for the region they’re a part of since the land was bought for them back in 1947. It’s pretty obvious to anyone who’s familiar with the things surrounding this but to many people it might sound like something put together just to fit a cool music video.

I'm a young Gen X'er who grew up in the 80-90's times so I agree I would love to hear Iyah with some rock behind her. I am from another, much older generation. Here is the work of an artist with human conscience and social values that honor this generation... She has the courage to say what many are afraid to say... And every word of this song is true👍 This song will mark this generation and joins all the PROTEST SONGS such as "get up, stand up" by Bob Marley and "People get Ready" & "The times they Are a'Changin" written by Bob Dylan and many others on slavery, civil rights; The assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. continues to resonate, and his legacy has been honored through the music of groups such as U2, Queen, Ben Harper, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Public Enemy and Will-I-am. protest against the Vietnam War; “Eve of Destruction” & “Ohio” by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young which denounced the massacre of student protesters at Kent State in 1970. Asimbonanga Johnny Clegg's song against apartheid to name just a few of the most famous. People often forget that music is much more than a means of obtaining pleasure. In all generations of protest, music has played a key role in defining injustice, the fight for equality and the desire for peace. Music defines social and historical values... This young artist an example to model! Don't give up the fight girl✌

I've always believed that many reggaeton, rap, and hip-hop and rock artists today have lost touch with their roots. Instead of talking about life on the streets or addressing social issues, they focus solely on flaunting the luxury they enjoy thanks to songs that lack real substance. However, Iyah May, with *Karmaggedon*, proves that there are still artists with integrity. Despite contracts, money, and fame, she chose to stay true to her message, her word, and her essence. This stands in stark contrast to the majority, who often let the industry sway them and betray their principles for convenience. Her example is inspiring and reminds us what truly matters in music.

There was a brilliant album released in 1989 by back then a non radiofriendly band. That band played Thrash Metal. The album name is...And Justice For All. The title song had a chorus that goes like that : Justice is lost, justice is raped, justice is gone Pulling your strings, justice is done Seeking no truth, winning is all Find it so grim, so true, so real. The issue is simple but the powers that be profit from gray zones and mass confusion. Justice is not universal while it should be. Justice goes by double standards. When you are a dominant country with a huge military industry and overcrushing fire power then you can go invade and make war with Korea, Vietnam, Gulf, Bosnia, Iraq...without giving a damn about international community or the United Nations. As a somehow aware and free human being, I can not stand by watching an invading power breaching international law on a regular basis, enforcing apartheid policies while mass killing children, elderly people, journalists, aid workers...hell even cats and pets were not spared. There is an HD genocide going on right now in Gaza. The kind of genocides that turn grim and vile lyrics of bands such as Slayer and Sodom into reality. Genocides are not a thing of the past. It's not a history book thing. Anyway, back to the song : Meaningful lyrics. Powerful production. Stubborn free artist. Nothing to dislike. Everything to love. Huge day and night difference from the sonic pollution that somehow became the gold standard for all the mega pop stars who sing about their tattooed silicon filled butts and LV branded Lambos. Cheers from Morocco
