I remember the original singer Serge Lama complimented this performance and he put the video on his social network even he introduced Forestella's Je suis malade in his interview. I am a fan of Forestella and I am so proud of them . Thank you for the something different reaction that I enjoyed a lot.

Forestella (2) is a four- member vocal group under Beat Interactive, formed through the music competition show Phantom Singer 2 and the winner of the show. They debuted on March 14, 2018 with their first album Evolution. Their name was created by combining "Forest", and "Stella" which means star in Latin/Italian.

HyungHo half jokingly said he never wanted to do another French song because it was so difficult for him to get the pronunciation. I heard this song and felt it all. Later discovered that yes, what I was feeling is what the song was about. They are masters of interpretation. Imho

“Je suis Malade” was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet. They became good friends. Lara has made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power and Serge Lama adopted these in his later interpretations. This 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3m2qp5qiKynq7s is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries. The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.

Forestella is the combined word of forest and stella. Forest is the word in English, as you know and stella means star in Italian. They have named themselves 'Forestlla' meaning 'Stars in the forest'.

You have to hear LARA FABIAN’s version of this song. She sings like a Cabaret singer and sings it with intensity that makes you cry. I love Forestella. They have a bee song called SAVE US….unbelievable. Not sure the title is correct.

I don't think it's a good idea to compare cover songs. All singers have different voices, different emotions and different personalities, so it's impossible to compare them on an absolute basis. No one does a cover to outperform the original singer or another singer's cover song. The cover song is meaningful in that it contains your own interpretation that is different from the original song. Therefore, you can enjoy them with their own charms. Lara Fabian and Forestella have different charms and they are both great.👍🏻

@@푸른사자-t5c I'm not comparing ,that is my personal preference ,I know the Forestela band I listened to them I know what they can do.They are amazing and there's no doubt about that .it's just that in this particular case I prefer Lara .That it's just my personal preference .By that I'm not saying that they are not good.They are great .Both of them Lara Fabian and Forestela are one of my favourite artists and I listen to them very often .

Unlike you my preference is forestella. As much as I respect Lara I just get so emotionally connected to forestellas version of the song while with Lara it's just wow she's a great singer.
