I realize we don't "warn" reactors, in order to avoid spoiling Mitch slaps and such. But reactors do need to be warned that "Wizard of Ahhhs" doesn't make sense if they've never seen _The Wizard of Oz_ with Judy Garland. I've heard too many bewildered reactors say "Wait! Where did the Oompa Loompas come from?!" during the Lollipop Guild scene.

The chances of this group coming together was so infinitesimally small that only the powers that be in the universe could have made it happen. I’m glad they decided to do that to allow us mere mortals to have something to brighten our days. Three kids (Scott, Mitch, Kirstie) meet as children who love to sing and decide to keep singing together in school and local theater. As a side note, can you imagine trying to keep those three reigned in in high school choir? Scott, Mitch and Kirstie say that she did help them learn to blend better. They become life-long friends. Scott befriends Ben Bram who helps Scott get on The Sing Off. Ben introduces Scott to Avi. Scott talks Kevin into giving up med school at Yale and joining four strangers to compete on The Sing Off. They actually win the show. Sony drops them so they decide to start building their Pentaholic following on You Tube. Viral videos, and great music follows, and they get resigned to Sony. Avi decides to leave the group and they find another great bass in Matt. While Matt is not Avi, he is still excellent and I think he blends even better with the other members of PTX. If anything happens differently along that path Pentatonix does not exist, and the world is a lesser place.

This song was written by Elton John for The Lion King. The arrangement is a great example of how they work together with each other and Ben Bram to create something new. Kirstin is the one responsible for the three power-up key changes near the end. There's clip showing them walking through the rough version, and Kirstie was like "Can't we just move it up again?" The thing about Mitch's voice is, you know how most people have a break in their range, where they really can't sing? It's called the passaggio - and Mitch doesn't have one. Or maybe he's just figured out how to power through it, but professional vocal coaches who have reacted to the group have mentioned it, amazed. How about some great mashups? La La Latch is one from the earlier group, with Avi, of two pop songs that were popular at the time. Then there's New Rules/Are You That Somebody? wth Matt. You will love the intro, with Matt and Kevin interacting musically like two guys having a friendly sparring match. It's made up of Dua Lipa’s 2017 “New Rules” and Aaliyah’s 1998 classic “Are You That Somebody?”

Since you asked, and you're a fan of all types of music, let's switch it up a bit from what you've been doing. First of all, you haven't done their recent release of their Seal cover "Kiss From of Rose" (live Vevo Studio video), and that is a must. Now I'm going to suggest some of the songs that aren't reacted to quite as much as the ones you've done, but are fantastic, (and trust me, it's hard to pick!). "Gold" a Kiiara cover, "Can't Hold Us" the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis cover done back in the early Babytonix days, and their "New Rules/Are You That Somebody" mashup. Also, they did the national anthem at the 2023 CFB National Championship game, and that is well worth a listen, and I ALWAYS recommend the "Popspring 2016" concert video that includes 3 original PTX songs plus their "Evolution of Michael Jackson." I'm going to throw in a little taste of Superfruit, too (Superfruit is just Mitch and Scott). Maybe try their, "Happy Little Pill" cover and their "Empire Medley," to start with. It's a VERY deep rabbit hole, lol. I could go all day.

BEST songs? That's tough, since whatever song I happen to be listening to right now is my favorite. But, off the top of my head, without checking which you've already reacted to, here goes: • "Kiss From A Rose" (look for the live Vevo recording; it's on KZbin) • "O Holy Night" (from "Greatest Christmas Hits," 2023, NOT the version from 2012) • "Pure Imagination / Christmas Time Is Here" (A mashup, as requested. Look for the live Vevo recording.) • "Run To You" • "Happy Now" • "Bohemian Rhapsody" • "O Come All Ye Faithful" • "The Prayer" • "Imagine" (the official video) • IF you're familiar with _"The Wizard Of Oz"_ (the 1939 movie starring Judy Garland), I recommend "Todrick Hall - The Wizard of Ahhhs (ft. Pentatonix)": kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5y5ln6YZ86aqMk If you've never seen the movie it won't make sense, so take care of that first.
