22:40 During covid Sefa used a sailship as a Defqon stage. Together with Dr Peacock and a orchestra they did a show called the Symphony of Freedom. You guys have to put that one in your watch later list and dress up like pirates or something when you guys are ready for that one.

If you guys like Sefa, you've got to see Dr.Peacock!!! My personal highlight was Dr.Peacock vs Partyraiser at Masters of Hardcore 2022. A wild mix of Frenchcore, Hardcore and Uptempo. I saw it Live and it was unbelievable!

Here are some stuff about Defqon.1: There are several stages, but sets are only filmed at the Red, Blue, U.V. and Black Stages. - Red Stage: Outdoor Stage and the main stage of the festival. Opens up on friday and it's where The Opening Ceremony, The Spotlight, Power Hour, The Endshow, The Closing Ceremony and The Closing Ritual take place. It's for All Harder Styles. - Blue Stage: The biggest indoor stage at Defqon.1. Opens on Thursday and it's where The Gathering takes place. Raw Hardstyle is the main genre of the stage. - U.V. Stage: Outdoor Stage and it's where The Tribute takes place. Euphoric Hardstyle is the main genre of the stage. - Black Stage: Indoor Stage and it's where The Spotlight takes place. Hardcore is the main genre of the stage. On Sunday, Defqon.1 takes a different aproach with the Black and U.V. Stages. It's Sunday Funday and those stages switch places, which means the U.V. Stage goes indoors and the Black Stage goes outdoors. - The Gathering is basically the start of the festival journey, where the tribe reunites and the artists behind the anthem play for the first time on the festival grounds. Is it on the Blue Stage. - The Tribute is the final moment on Thursday, when an iconic hardstyle track is played on the U.V. Stage. - The Opening Ceremony is the opening of the Red Stage. Every year Q-Dance picks an artist to open the stage. The Red Stage is closed on Thursday and opens for the first time on Friday. Last year it was Phuture Noize and this year is gonna be Ran-D. - The Spotlight closes down the Red Stage on Friday, and Q-Dance picks an artist that has been making waves in the scene, and deserves to be recognized. Last year it was Rebelion and this year is gonna be Sefa. There's also a Spotlight at the Black Stage with a hardcore artist. Last year it was Angerfist and this year is gonna be Spitnoise. - The Warrior Workout is when the tribe unites in a cardio workout on Saturday morning while blasting hardstyle through the speakers. It's non stop fun. Last year it was at the U.V. Stage and this year is gonna be on the Red Stage. - Power Hour is an hour of complete chaos on the Red Stage. Easily the funniest sh*t Defqon.1 has to offer. - The Endshow is the final moment of Saturday and basically closes down the Red Stage until Sunday evening. - The Closing Ritual is on the Red Stage and it's the final moment of the festival where the weekend warriors unite one last time before they go home. I'm sorry for the long comment. 😅

Got to remember everything Q-Dance put on in 2022 was amped up with emotion as we weren’t able to party together for 3 years! The last defqon was 2019 so the emotion was amped up by 1000 for every single set! I don’t think I stopped crying the whole weekend being back with friends and meeting new friends 🧡🧡

Though I miss a bit of Dr. Peacock influence compared to stuff like Sefa & Peacock Symphony of Freedom, it's still a beautiful set and you can feel how much the audience is loving it. Glad y'all watched this set! Also, just imagine you're in a choir, what is likely your biggest live audience? Maybe 1200 in a large church? Maybe 3000 in a town square during some event? And now they get to perform for like 200K people, I admire that they can hold their nerve and do what they do best, even if the setting is very much not where you'd expect orchestrals much. And gosh, that violinist is such a cool lady!

Sefa already played the big festivals with only 17 years. If you want some more of that frenchcore-orchestra combination you can check out peacock in concert @ defqon 2018. Dr Peacock was the person pushing sefa to the top with some collabs back then. If you're searching for sets of some other stages at defqon, i recommend the spotlight @ blue/black or the gathering/thursday sets, because the first day hype there is unreal and the biggest tents are packed to the max. Dont expect drones flying everywhere and stuff like the mainstage shows, but the other stages have nice lightshows, sometimes luminous structures moving over the crowd and are more about the music itself

There were many factors that made this set extra special. On top of all the elements of choir, live musicians and the music, it was the opening ceremonies of the main stage of Defqon 1 after 3 years of not being able to gather in that kind of a scenario. That's why everyone was so excited, tears were shed, and such a special set was created. Sefa, Q dance, and all the musicians did everything right.

Sefa specializes in a Hardstyle subgenre called Frenchcore, so that's why it may sound different to Hardstyle, It's faster and as the name suggests it has French origins and not Dutch ones

Love this set also the interaction with the crowd, you guys normally see a lot of fireworks and evening video's now you see (a lot) of people and how they react the happiness is jumping at you trough the screen. Its fun to see you guys going trough this journey of the harder styles discovering it every week thanks for the fun videos. This sub-genre is called Frenchcore . Been going to hardcore and later hardstyle parties since 1993 and still to this date going several times a year at the age of 48 love this music its in my bones.
