Casey, you the man!!! Brailee, you the girl. Glad to see the younger generation getting into hunting. I love it and have hunted deer and elk in Idaho for 57 years and enjoyed every minute of it.

To me there is no better family sport than archery. Load up the family, the bows, a picnic lunch and the smiles and head to a 3D shoot and just have fun as a family. I’ve shared this love for this sport with my daughter her entire life. She was two months old in a backpack her first shoot and started shooting her first mini bow at 2 and she still loves the sport at 12. You don’t have to be a hunter to enjoy 3D at all, you just have to love being outdoors. Great video showing the transformation of her from being scared to shoot to where she is wanting to do it more often.

She did really well for her first time shooting. Good job! I find it easier to shoot at a vertical and horizontal line when sighting a bow. Get the elevation dialed in with the horizontal line and then work on the windage using the vertical line.

If she is a beginner there is something our archery shop does in Minnesota. Its called a Kisser. It is applied below the peep sight and you hold it to the corner of your lip at full draw. It is meant to keep a consistent anchor point!

Hi I’ve been shooting traditional bows for years and thinking of getting into compound bows. I found all the tech involved a bit daunting but you’ve explained it clearly. I remember those first few shots when your just starting and I think ur daughters gonna make a brilliant archer. Help her build up her left arm deltoids to get a stable bow arm (sure u know this). PS climbing is one of the best exercises for all those random archery muscles. Great vid dude keep being a good tutor🙂

A little tip: your daughter takes a long time to release, once you draw back you should release in about 3 seconds after. Since it takes her a while to release she starts to shake her bow. No hate! I’m just saying although, you probably know what your doing better than I do.

Good archery tip, you don't want it to be a suprise because that means that your shot process isn't the same
@geebee3d5 жыл бұрын
Aiden Jones ....actually, you do want a surprise release. If you are anticipating the shot, you are more likely to flinch before shooting the arrow. With the surprise release you hold to your anchor and only focus on the target. Your conscious mind aims the bow, and muscle memory/subconscious triggers the release. Now, there are some very accomplished archers who shoot with a command style, where the release is anticipated. Tim Gillingham is one of the best archers in the US and he is known as “the hammer” because of the way he punches his trigger release. It works for him. But most coaches would recommend a surprise release.

Very jealous you have a dedicated shop. Archery is barely even a thing over here now which is nuts because the English were famous for archery for centuries. Not to mention I have never met a single person who tried archery and didn’t love it. Might have to do something about it 🤔 I bought a 40lb takedown last week, just waiting for some carbon arrows to arrive and I’m going to get some hours in.

LOL, I actually just got a 1965 Hoyt Pro Medalist with 3 sets of Limbs. They have UV saturated into a Banana Cream Yellow color with age. a set of 30, 40 and 42 pound sets. I am looking to see if I can find some 50 and or 60 pound limbs for it. It was listed as ILF but it was more like a primitive DAS system. I had to drill some threads out of the bottom of the riser and buy some 1/4 X 20 thread bolts to get it to work as it was missing the original thumb screws, and shim plates. It does fire very nice though and I plan to make a YT vid of it in the near future.
