Great song... I remember being impressed with them as a kid, especially the women in the group, the one who wore a blonde wig and had such a strong voice, and the other one who played the trumpet, WOW 😲🤩

Sweet! Sly & The Family Stone were sixties musical influencers with an impact that lasted decades. You might have heard samples from the song before. The backing vocals were supplied by Rose Stone, sister to Sly and Freddie. The family in their name was literal. Also check out "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)", "Sing a Simple Song", and "I Want to Take You Higher" for some hard funk; "Stand!" and "Dance to the Music" for the pop flavored greats beyond "Everyday People".

Sly and the Family Stone were HUGE in the late 60s. Unfortunately Sly had serious drug issues, missed shows left and right, and destroyed his career.

Probably an "improved" remastered version. Not as good as the original - like most remasters. So many remasters are simply turning up the saturation until they clip the high end and low end and it gets muddied. In the old days we had a simple solution to wanting to hear more of the subtleties of the song - we turned up the volume. That's all it took. Then the "loudness wars" came and everything is a muddy mess "remaster."

This is a bad audio version, do a deep dive on Sly, greatest funk band, live versions are great, see them at Woodstock.
