Hi! My name is Angela and in this vlog, I travel to Switzerland with my family (filmed in August). We explored Geneva, Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Lucerne, and Zurich over 5 days. Hi Jinny! Thanks for watching :) No, we didn't get the swiss travel pass, I think that might be better for longer trips in Switzerland and for specific activities, but I didn't look too much into that due to the length of our trip and activities we wanted to do. Hope this helps!

We purchased them individually (I used the Trainline and Omio app), but depending how many trains you are planning to take, it might be worth it to buy a train pass. The shorter trains within Switzerland like from Interlaken to Grindelwald, I just purchased some the day of but the longer train rides for example from Interlaken to Zurich, I pre-purchased a few weeks before. Hi! I use the Airalo app for my eSIMs usually. You can download it from any app store and access eSIMs to many locations. Hope this helps!

Great video. In your opinion is navigating the train stations easy for someone who only speaks English? Do they have sings in English or make announcements in English? I'll be traveling alone just wondering what difficulties I might encounter.

Yes, I do feel like 5 days was a good amount of time, but I probably would have spent less time in Geneva and Zurich and more time in Interlaken :)

So most of the big cities in Switerland (e.g. Geneva, Interlaken) have tourist guest cards that you can get from staying at most hotels that give you free access to local public transportation for uour entire stay. We used these to get around the cities mostly by bus or tram. Hope this helps!!

A tourist trap I recently experienced was about Swiss railway (SBB) who tend to indiscriminately fine passengers who activated the Swiss pass just a little bit late with excessive fine. I was handed a 158 CHF fine ticket by the ticket controller without even asking me any question (e.g. if it was my first time). According to SSB website such a high fine should be for repeated offenders. Later, I found out the abusive habit of SBB ticket controllers from many internet groups and decided to make an in-person trip to the SBB office to complain (as the SBB tel line is always engaged). The funny thing was the staff in SBB office after hearing my case immediately and apologetically reduced my fine to 30 CHF. Instead of having time to sight-seeing, I spend a lot of my time in Switzerland complaining to SBB. This not only wasted a lot of my time but leave a really bad taste in my mouth. So watch out for this abusive action from SBB. Take care.
