Hi, guys, I am from Brazil and the "cashew nectar" observation on the package that you talked about it's because in Brazil we label our fruit beverages according to how much of the actual fruit goes in the mixture. For example, for you to label something as "juice" (like "cashew juice") it has to contain at least 50% of cashew. The one you drank is called "cashew nectar" because it contains from 20% to 30% of cashew, the rest is basicaly a mixture of water and sugar. There could also be a "cashew refresco", as it's called the fruit beverages with less than 20% of the actual fruit. And the less concentrated in fruit, the cheaper it is. 😉

I fairly recently found your channel and I’ve been loving watching your videos with my sister. We were thrilled to see you guys trying some Brazilian treats. Pretty much everything you got are things (and brands) easily available and that we grew up eating for sure. I loved how you pronounced São Paulo, Katie! It was spot on! 😊 The pão de queijo is made with tapioca, hence the different texture. It is usually eaten plain or you can cut it in half and have a slice of cheese and ham and eat warm, pressed like a panini. If you can find requeijão in that Brazilian store, you can also eat it with it (it’s a sort of spread made with milk. There are similar products from brands like President and Puck you might find easier to buy). The cashew (fruit) is delicious and I remember when we’re little, we’d eat the fruit and play with the discarded nut. I think some people actually roast it to crack it open to eat the nut. Next time you can get the guava or passionfruit juices from Maguary to try. The diet Guaraná soda tastes pretty much the same as the regular one. I always go for the diet one because it’s less sugar. :) The biscoito de polvilho is addictive! I like the onion or garlic flavors too. In my family we always have them as snacks and just eat them as is. I guess any of this biscuits you got (the coconut one too) usually go with coffee. Btw, you should try Brazilian coffee too if you can grab some there. The traditional Fandangos snack is in an yellow package and it’s corn flavor. It’s so good! The coconut water in the box is definitely nothing like the fresh one. I don’t like it either! If you can get the fresh one, tho, go for it! The Bis chocolate wafer does come in a bigger size. There’s also the white and dark chocolate versions. That one is the og, though. 😋 You definitely got some of the most popular Brazilian treats we usually gift to people who never tried them before, like dadinhos (it’s pure sugar but it reminds me of my childhood for sure!), 7 belo, bis, etc. Some other things you guys can try next time you go in the Brazilian store: brigadeiro, sonho de valsa, doce de leite, pé-de-moleque, paçoquinha, pão de mel, chá mate… I loved watching this video so much! Thanks for doing this. It made us feel closer to home! Obrigada! 😊 Oh, and I’d love if you could do a video trying anything Biscoff/cookie butter flavor! I love Biscoff cookies and I saw in the UK, you have chocolate filled with Biscoff spread and some other different treats we can’t find in the US. 😋

An interesting fact about cashews is that from the cashew friuts you don't only use the cashewnuts but you can also eat the cashew friut as is or make an alcoholic drink out of the cashew. I have never seen cashew juice but it was nice seeing it in the juice form in your video. And Alex was saying he doesn't know what a young coconut is called, it is called a tender coconut.

Some information about the products (I am Brazilian) - "Pão de queijo" is really popular. Nowadays you can buy them frozen to put in the oven. In addition to being possible to find in almost all bakeries. It is usually eaten with a sweet drink (coffee being one of the most traditional combinations). - "Guaraná" is a traditional fruit from the Amazon region, native to Brazil. The Guarana soda is one of the oldest that appeared to compete with Coca-Cola. Here in Brazil there is even a Guarana soft drink produced by Coca-Cola called Kuat. Brazilians drink guarana since childhood as well as coffee. - Nectar is a denomination to tell the consumer that the content is not really a juice, there is a lot of water and sugar added in it that it mischaracterizes it as a juice. The "Cajú" is a very common fruit in the Brazilian Northeast (where I live). The fruit is actually the nut, but the part that has the pulp is a pseudo-fruit. It comes from a tree that measures about 3m in height and grows in mangrove regions and along the coast. There are two versions, one more reddish and one more yellowish of the same fruit. Cashew nut is really very expensive, mainly because of the way the nut is extracted. It is necessary to roast the raw nut to eliminate a powerful corrosive oil that remains in its shell. The process is time consuming and requires a heat source. The extracted chestnuts are offered for sale according to the quality with which they come out of the nut. If they are whole, they have a better price. Next time you come here, try the juice extracted directly from the fruit, it has a much more striking flavor. - "Fandangos" and "Cebolitos" are both corn chips, but differ in shape and Cebolitos has an onion-like aroma and flavor. The term Fandangos comes from a typical dance from the Iberian region. - The "Pipoca-doce" (sweet popcorn) is a popcorn made with a different process from the more traditional popcorn (the one from the cinema) hence the shape of the corn doesn't change so much. While it is still hot, icing sugar is sprinkled over it, forming a thin, sweet, crunchy layer. - "Água de coco" (Coconut water) in boxes is a very welcome modern convenience. Much appreciated by athletes especially when they live far from the coast. - Personally, I never really liked the "rosquinha de coco" (coconut-flavored donut cookie). I prefer milk or chocolate ones. They all go great with coffee! - "Bis" chocolate is to Brazil what KitKat is to Japan (not to mention the countless flavors of KitKat) around here we have only two types of Bis, chocolate and white chocolate. Bis means "an encore" like when a band play another song in a concert. - The "Passa-tempo" (pastime) cookie was originally without filling. Then it got a chocolate filling. But I remember this cookie in the past being much tastier than it is today. They changed his recipe at some point. I don't buy this brand anymore. In fact, almost all the stuffed cookies in Brazil are very bad. - 7 Belo is a very old candy. It's the kind of candy that you shouldn't chew because it sticks to your teeth and takes a long time to come out. - "Dadinho" (something like 'small dice') is not popular here where I live. - "Gibi" is the name given to children's comics. This brand is not very well known here where I live, but the original peanut candy, called "pé-de-moleque" around here, is. Another much better known candy made from peanuts is "Paçoca". Although I don't like both of them that much. - "Prestige" is really popular here in Brazil. In general we are very good with sweet things, Brazil is still one of the biggest sugar producers in the world. One last curiosity, Nestlé managed to implant its condensed milk so deeply in the culture of the Brazilian confectionery that we have hundreds of recipes that use condensed milk.

The soda is actually guarana flavored :) The cheese bread (pão de queijo in portuguese) is often eaten while drinking coffee on breakfast. Some people fill it with slices of sausage, or with bacon, or with any kind of cheese or even with some milk jam (I recommend all these options). I hope you've enjoyed as much as we love Brazilian food :)

I loved seeing someone trying snacks that are so trivial for us here in Brazil that we don't even stop to think how they literally feel/taste. We usually taste them so young that it is really cool to watch someone trying and describing the experience for the 1st time. You are so interested, thorough and open to all the different flavors! Cashew juice is my favorite, coconut water (freezing cold and preferably the fresh) as a second. Nice pronunciation on São Paulo, you got it.

Another must trye from Brazil: - Doce de leite (if you find from the brand Viçosa, they are the best!) - cheetos requeijão - stickadinho - paçoca (i think you will love, is another peanut treat) - requeijão (is a cheese spread that you can also eat with pão de queijo) - sequilhos (It’s a type of cookie - or, as we say, biscoito) - goiaba juice - definitely buy a cachaça (alcoholic beverage made of sugar cane). If you find, try to buy cachaça de jambu, will be a whole new experience for you, as jambu makes the mouth/ tongue a little numb and tingling

Cheese bread is from Minas Gerais, a state in Brazil. It’s so good that you can eat with everything and anytime of the day. In the morning normally you eat with coffee and you can put “requeijão” which is kind of cream cheese. I love eat it with Nutella! You can put also meat, ram! It’s delicious!!!

Cheese bread 1 cup of milk ½ cup of oil ½ teaspoon of salt 500g of sweet sprinkle 2 eggs 1 ½ cups grated semi-cured cheese Place the milk, oil and salt in a milk jug. Take it to the high fire and, when it boils, pour the mixture over the sprinkle previously placed in a pot. Stir well with a wooden spoon, so that the sprinkle is impregnated with liquid. Then add the eggs, one by one, always stirring with a wooden spoon. Add the grated cheese and mix with your hands until the dough does not stick to your hands. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it is smooth and smooth. Then roll small balls in the palm of your hand, placing them on a greased and floured rectangular baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 20 minutes.

The popcorn you tried is called "cannon popcorn" because they are popped inside these cannon like metal structures. The kernel is out inside the thing and there's an explosion, the pop in seconds. It's so hot and aggressive, that the hard peal is burn all the way. I used to live next to a cannon popcorn factory.

Hi! I’m Brazilian, the first snack is a Pão de queijo, very famous and very loved here in Brazil. You can eat with coffee, like she said in the breakfast or any coffee time hahahaha. And yes you can put some Doce de Leite (don’t know how to translate hahaha) or Requeijão (that is a version of cream cheese, both are good for ir) in it, its delicious!! Try it!

All of these are very popular in Brazil. The guaraná is a fruit. The Caju drink is from the fruit part and yes there is a single nut per caju fruit. It’s very refreshing and meant to be had over ice, very cold on a summer day. Nice video!!!

Hi i'm brazilian and wanted to say that whoever this lady who helped you was, she knew what she was talking about. The peanut bar is called "pé de moleque" and is very popular around Brazil, especially on the months of june and july. The Mabel biscuits are very popular here too and we usually binge eat them, like you guys said, they are very dangerous. The Antartica Soda is from a fruit that only exists in the Amazon Forest and is a pride in brazil. Also Passatempo (the cookie with chocolate) is popular among the kids, whe usually have them in the morning, with breakfast. Here in brazil is very common to have biscuits, cookies, cheese bread, biscoito de polvilho as a snack but also in the breakfast. The video was amazing thank you!
