The round brown thing in a plastic bag is called panotsa, it is made from sugarcane, it's like a solid version of muscovado sugar, and the long brown thing beside the sweet potato is a cassava.

Sometimes I find wet markets a bit hassle to shop on because of how tight those places are, and mostly muddy and wet. But, most of the products are guaranteed fresh than those at the supermarkets, and cheaper too!

You could have visited Balintawak wet and dry market, soooo near to Muñoz market. If its not the biggest, one of the biggest market in metro Manila.its where bulk products are delivered from different provinces , and where smaller markets like Muñoz gets their products for sale.

Atis is custard apple in English… if you bought them unripe, you need 2-3 days more before you open them… must be soft but not too mushy ..

We have the other corn, not the yellow ones but the very light yellow, sorry don't know if i characterized the color correctly😊, it's the corn that I'm used to and they can be glutinous and delicious...the yellow ones that I've tasted so far is the ones here in NY and they ain't delicious😊, the korean glutinous multicolored corn are available here and they're yummy too, thank God...i would say lansones is one of the best fruit in the Phil esp if you get the fresh/new ones.

the corn i grew up with. they're not as juicy as the big yellow ones, but starchier, stickier. we would scrape them with a knife and cook them with garlic and malunggay.
