I am vegetarian and I think Sri Lankan veg food is the best in the world. I recommend you try Puttu,Kuttu Roti and Pol Sambal. The Pol Sambal( an amazing, coconut chutney) is to die for and I go to Sri Lanka just for that.

5:29 the round flat yellow one here, i dont know how to explain it 😂but it is crispy and tasty 😂 we never miss it, kids, teens, adults every one likes it. I think its made out of flour and combination of some other ingredients.

Hay Liza and Dany I have a suggestion with all the Russians and Ukraine tourist coming to Sri Lanka start a restaurant having bosh but with a Sri Lankan twist. Fusion bosh with fresh seafood meat and chicken. Good Ukraine bread is hard to find but could be produced locally. Dany you have been to Sri Lanka you let poor Liza experience the Spicy food. I was born in Sri Lanka and now live in Florida. I hope to be in Sri Lanka in May /June. happy Travels and stay safe

Guys first of all, Sri Lankan spices are not too spicy if you mix the curries with rice n eat..!!! We don't ever eat the curries by itself.. I know travelers from outside might wanna taste test it but that's what lead to unnecessary spice issues... So taste test it with a single bite & then U GONNA MIX YOUR CURRIES WITH RICE & ENJOY it correctly! Bonus hint : if something is spicy then drink water (if u can hot water) datz it enjoy safely guys.... don't forget to MIX everything with RICE !! RICE is there for a reason haha!

That's not a rule or a part of the culture. That's one of those infuriating things that need to go away.

@@nirmalsuki typically it should only be with one hand and not both hands at the same time . Either left hand or right. If you’re left-handed, eat with your left hand and use your right hand to clean yourself in the toilet and vice versa. You should never eat with both hands as it is considered dirty and bad mannered! And Lizza’s case, people will know she is a foreigner, and not aware. I guess you can compare it to eating with your mouth open. Sure it’s not a rule, but it’s just bad mannered.

Try not to be seen on the road walking because the tuk-tuk drivers see you as a tourist walking on the road and will stop and ask you if you need a ride. This is done to make money for themselves. I am Sri Lankan. You can get scammed by certain people as well.
