Back when i was in college i took a chainsaw operation class. I cut this huge rotten tree that was hallow in the middle. I sectioned it up and seen something wiggling between my feet. It had a 6 1/2 ft black rat snake on the inside that got cut into sections. I felt bad but goes to show you that you never know and check hollow trees lol

For your garden, you should add soil, obviously, but also add a bunch of sand. It'll help to keep the clay easier to break up and drain. But what do you do with all the stumps on a trail like that? Don't they just become ankle breakers?

I got my 041 Super for my 12th birthday. My brother borrowed it when he was 16 and managed to cut his jeans from seam to seam without a scratch. That was the last time he tried anything motorized until his driving lessons ended after threading the needle down a one way street. His instructor ranted about the benefits of public transportation while he got his heart rate under control. He did buy a house recently but unfortunately 56 is too old to apply for a lawn mower learner's licence. Peace.

Stihl chainsaws have electronics which can be damaged by an EMP. For a survivalist a Husqvarna chainsaw is a better choice because it doesn't have any electronics and should be safe from EMP.

You're bringing back memories of when I first learned. Make sure you learn how to sharpen that chain, properly Proper angle, adjusting the rakers. Done right, a chain can last you a couple of seasons. Seriously, after all the years you've spend doing bushcraft, how have you never used a chainsaw?

Once we pulled some wood out of the shed into the kitchen and we were eating supper later that night and I was told to sit still. A flying squirrel was inside one of the tree chunks and it woke up It rain upstairs and my dad chased it down and thats when it started gliding down two stories and we found out it was a flying squirrel. Ended up trapping it in the middle bathroom in a bucket and let it outside. After that we wacked any hollow logs before we brought them in the house. My parents new house they've had since about 1994 or so they have the wood outside in the front porch not inside the house
