If you watch the first video I was indeed wearing a face shield. For the second attempt I think I subconsciously assessed the danger level and didn't bother with it. It wasn't a commercial situation so no rules broken. I would probably advise anyone else to be fully kitted out with gloves, face shield, ear protectors etc. As for wearing a mask, there's no real need (unless you are concerned about covid). The water feed prevents any dust from being created. The only possible reason for wearing a visor on the job I was doing would be in-case the chain broke but that doesn't usually result in the chain hitting you in the face anyway as it looses its momentum very quickly and gets wrapped around the chain guard. Hey, thanks for your concern for my safety though.
