When you order these awesomely wonderful glasses, do you include their normal prescription so they can wear them for all things they do? Do you have to include all the information on which type of colorblindness they have,and does that make a difference in them?
@JanPBtest6 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are available in prescription. Check the Enchroma web site for details. If you're not sure which type to order, try the outdoor first, in non-prescription, and you'll have 60 days to return them for a full refund if you don't like them or want to replace them with a prescription version.

Drawn to the pinks; so interesting! Is this the exact opposite of what he’s been seeing?
@dianamoyer2 жыл бұрын
This was a long time ago, but he says that it just made him see the different shades. He decided after using them for a while that they didn't work as well as he thought they would. He even wrote a paper about it in high school.
@bpark100012 жыл бұрын
@@dianamoyer So in the long run they are not working? The reason I am interested is that a few other tritans have reported good results, despite Enchroma not recommending them for tritans. If they do work, Enchroma needs to hear about this! (Although not specifically designed for tritans, they do have the notch in the turquoise). Tritan-anomaly is easier to "correct" as the cone overlap is not so large as for protan or deutan. The other thing is that Enchroma has changed the lenses that MAY be more effective (CX3 & CX1-DT). I (& maybe Enchroma) would like to see that paper he wrote!
@dianamoyer2 жыл бұрын
@@bpark10001 they did not work the way he thought they would work. They did enhance the differences in shades of color and the differences in color if I remember correctly. I'm not sure if he still has the paper he wrote, but I'll ask him. I think it was about how cones, even if they could be "repaired", wouldn't change the way we see color because the brain is what actually interprets color and the brain prunes parts that aren't being used. I think that's what it was about, but I could be way off. Now that I'm thinking about it, the paper may have been about retraining your brain. I'll ask him.

@@dianamoyer Just had an experience you may find interesting, thinking about Tristan's experience. I was at hospital looking at surgery status display while wearing Enchroma CX3 lenses. I noted that the turquoise background was almost totally indistinguishable from lime-green background. (These are 2 colors I assume Tristan has trouble distinguishing as a tritan). Without the glasses, I could distinguish them much better. Then I tried the CX1-DT "indoor" glasses. The 2 colors were easy to distinguish. Perhaps he would get more benefit from the CX1-DT glass? Both Tristan & I are treading on uncharted territory!

Good video, but they should have given them to put on in the daytime. No point of going out with them at night.
@dianamoyer6 жыл бұрын
He wasn't going outside with them the first time he used them. They were given to him as a gift from my eldest son so he, understandably, wanted to try them right away
@histubeness6 жыл бұрын
I understand, but I think everyone should have shown some patience and waited until the next day(light), for much better effect. Or, at least had an additional video from the next day, with him outside. --Just my opinion.

Don't you just love how people need to throw their 2 cents into what you should do with your family instead of just shutting the hell up and enjoying the video?
@histubeness6 жыл бұрын
Don't YOU just hate the fact that someone can make a legitimate point, while enjoying the video, which I did. Shutting the hell up applies to you, not me.
@pleasuretokill6 жыл бұрын
Yeah. No. Your point was only legitimate in YOUR head. These families put up these videos to please themselves, not you. Just because you want something a certain way, doesn't make it "legitimate". She even explained why they did what they did and it STILL wasn't good enough for your stupid fucking ass. So... again, on behalf of the op of the video. Shut the fuck up and go away, lol. No one owes you anything. Any further replies will be you just arguing with yourself.

I thought enchroma don't work for Tritan. The way he is describing things it sounds like he is a deutan
@dianamoyer7 жыл бұрын
Will T., it was obvious to us that they work for him. Before this video he saw pink as grey and he couldn't tell the difference between the different shades. This means a lot to him and we are happy they work.
@willt.55217 жыл бұрын
diana hafely I'm not denying they don't work for him. I am a deutan (red green colorblindness) and I have heard other deutans describe the experience of enchroma in similar ways. I also get pinks and greys mixed up. He also said that blues didn't look purple which is another thing that deutans mix up. I have never discussed colorblindness with a person with strong tritanomoly but I'm saying that I think he is a deutan because of the way he is describing the experience and which colors he refers to that look different. Regardless of which type of colorblindness he is, I am glad they work for him and wish you guys the best!!
@dianamoyer7 жыл бұрын
Will T., thank you so much. Yea, the only thing I know about it is that the optometrist said he was yellow blue deficient and that he could only see the grossest color plate (the one with the most contrast) and he said he's only seen a handful of people with it in his entire career. With all that...you are right...I don't know or care what he has, just super happy the glasses worked because I half expected that they wouldn't. I'm glad they worked for you too.
@dianamoyer2 жыл бұрын
@HeyDoneiI'm aware. Nothing can "fix" color deficiency. They just helped him see different shades better. It's been a long time since that video and he no longer even wears the glasses. He said they don't work as well as he was hoping. There has been a lot of research into color deficiency and color blindness and so far there is no "fix". Have an awesome day! Thank you for the comment 😊
