Well, I guess those trees aren't gonna get in the way of mowing anymore. Impressive for that little tractor to run that.

Just bought one and have not been able to get it work properly. Question for you, "Y' blades or hammer blades?
@onthegowithmitch
@onthegowithmitch 4 жыл бұрын
Antonio Abitabile hammer blades all the way. Cuts good in grass and brush.

@@onthegowithmitch Thank you. Now to figure out where to get them from. My flail mower is from Betsco but I believe they are standard size

@@AWADesigns I ordered the 135 from Betstco and live that mower. It came with the Hammer blades but for a cleaner cut the “Y” blades will work better for regular mowing. The hammer blades r good for what the guy in the video is cutting but be used to mower as normal but it’s just not as good as “Y” blades on regular grass. You can order “Y” blades from Betstco. I just asked and they are about $200 for a set with spacers etc

I see you have the front of the mower angled down. The rear roller is what sets the height. And flails are far superior to rotaries as they'll eat anything. I used to operate 12 feet of flails. 1 on the 3 ph and 1 hydraulically on the right side. 🤔🤔🤔

Tom Scott , thanks for the comment! I’ve learned so much since that day with this mower. I love it! I would never go back to rotary unless i had lots of trees to do under. Cheers!

So I guess I could use one of these to till with to replant my yard.

I wouldn’t till with it but it does go right down to ground level. I’ve had it 2 years now and put a couple hundred hours on it and have not changed the teeth. This spring it’s going to get a Fresh set put on. I just keep sharpening them up with a grinder and keep on tractoring. Check out my other videos of where I mowed down 2-3 inch popular trees. This mower is the best attachment I have purchased for my tractor. Thanks for watching!

Is beco and bestco the same? My tractor is 19.5 pto wondering what size is the best?
@onthegowithmitch
@onthegowithmitch 4 жыл бұрын
J K I’ve never seen a Bestco before, I would imagine that they would be similar. I would recommend a 48 inch wide one and not the 64. In thick brush or grass this mower really taxes the B2601. Low and slow is the name of the 64inch game. Hope that helps.

Lucky there wasn't an old fence post or something in there.😉 How wide is the mower? When it dragged down was that the engine lugging down or the slip clutch?
@onthegowithmitch
@onthegowithmitch 5 жыл бұрын
B Laquisha , the mower is 64 inches wide. That was the engine dragging down. This mower is “ over sized “ for this tractor. When I ordered it I wanted it to fit multiple tractors that I own and 64 inches was the one I needed. That mower will eat fence posts, stumps etc. if you can put it in it will try to chunk it up. Thanks for watching.

is that a 64 inch mower on the 20 hp Kubota? I'm wondering, does it feel underpowered to you or does it still work? I kinda need a 64 inch mower but am wary cause it's supposedly for 25 hp tractors.
@onthegowithmitch
@onthegowithmitch 4 жыл бұрын
Francis Bonenfant Hey, you are correct, it is a 64 inch mower. The tractor is underpowered if your trying to mow 2 foot tall grass but it excels at everything else. I would recommend a 48 inch to most people but for my application this size works well for me. Thanks for watching! Mitch

@@onthegowithmitch Hey Mitch I'm thinking about getting the 64". Wondering what you mean by "your application" - Mine is that I'd use it not very frequently and only in small ish spaces (cleaning up some existing trails, clearing some small wooded areas). A big factor favouring the 64" is that I could get some overhang for rivers and pond banks (I'd add the manual offset so that I could reach even further out than yours). Wondering if "my application" sounds like a 64" would be better - or if I should just go with the 48" for it being a little more nimble, and not bogging the engine down. Thanks!
@onthegowithmitch
@onthegowithmitch 2 жыл бұрын
@@smartinonline if you use it for grass less then 8 inches and on level ground 64 inch works ok, if you have tall grass the tractor is under powered. I will just take a 1/2 a cut and it will keep going in low range. Trails are ok with brush as it’s not a lot of material going though the mower. If your doing side slopes you will have to be very careful. My mower is 600 ish Lbs and it can cause the tractor to “slide” down the hill if your mowing sideways and not up and down the hill. Hope this helps!
@smartinonline
@smartinonline 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mitch that’s super helpful! I was worried about the slide thing especially around water. Going to play it safe and go with the 48”! I’m sure I’ll love it.
