Camryn, first of all you are so pleasant to watch. I absolutely love all of your videos. I am 62 and just started learning to crochet. You have my brain humming for what I could do when I retire. I can’t just sit and exist. Must keep moving and meeting new people. I showed one of your videos to my husband and you put a smile on his face. He is originally from Spokane and I was from Coos Bay Oregon, feels like we are hanging out with our people. We I’ve in the Midwest now but definitely missing the people from the west. Just love seeing you and your husband settling up and tearing down together, it’s the small acts of kindness that means the most. We did one show this year and although it mostly rained out, we did great in the like 90 minutes that we had customers lol! But that showed me how great markets can be! I am hoping to get into some spring/summer markets and then really dig into for fall and winter! I would love to try out a weekly farmer's market this summer if I can find one in the area.

I have a lot going on in 2024, my first show starts at march 11 and than almost all 2 Weeks after that, until End of April than i have a quick brake. Need to find out more places to go. In between this first shows; there is one of my largest one with 3 days in a row on a Mass. Im kind of crazy and nervous about this. So my first show this year is called Country Women´s Day so there are al lot of farmers Ladys arround and its short before Easter, so i will defently do some chickens and my Amigurumi Plushys and a smaller amount of Beanies and Headbands. And im thinking about some Pumpkins too, because ist´s all Farmers Ladys, you know. I know its not even Spring yet but, why not to try them too on a market special for those Ladys. I’m not signed up for anything yet because the organization ive been working with hasn’t released the 2024 schedule yet but I definitely will be signing up. I will also be doing as you suggested and going as a customer to vendor events and seeing what the traffic is like, WHERE it is (because I hate downtown Dallas traffic 😭😭) and talking with other vendors to see what their experiences are. I do hope to find some other vendor spots that aren’t as expensive as that one ($150-350) but those markets have always been profitable too!❤❤ I hope you guys had an AMAZING Christmas and have a happy new year! 🎆🎊

Happy end of market season! Enjoy the break, I know my hands definitely need the rest as well! I am not signed up for anything officially yet in 2024, but do have one application in. This year was my first year, and I was blown away at how I did, so I plan to do SO MANY shows next year! And if I can get over my jitters, I may start making videos of my shows as well! Eek!

My first 2024 event is a massive car show that over 3 days expects 35k+ avg foot traffic. Event if only 1% buy from me and my avg ticket is $10, that's still $3500 in sales! After that nothing until April, then busy until Christmas

Camryn, thank you so much for your videos! I've always wanted to do craft fairs or markets, but never knew how. You have given me concrete steps to take in order to get the ball rolling! I'm working on inventory right now, and currently while watching, succulent coaster sets! By following your instruction on choosing a few colors to look cohesive, I can see my brand and vision forming right before my very eyes! I received almost every item off your market faves list for Christmas, and I can't wait to see how well all your advice serves me in the coming year! Next steps are the technical business-y things like reserving a name (already checked that it is available thanks to your guidance!!!), getting a license, and business insurance. Hi Camryn! I've been following you for little while I just don't comment often. I love your stuff! I have never done a show. I am thinking about it but still not sure. I did buy your pricing calculator the other day. I plan to use that for things I try to sell personally plus if I decide to try a show. The thing is I am not interested in just one Niche. I love crafting anything and everything but my primary crafts are crochet and I am working on designing some of my own macrame pieces. I am retired so I don't have tons of money to throw into a full blown business but as a side hustle it would be ok. I guess my hesitation with craft shows is that I don't want to waste money to make a bunch of stuff and it not sell. I don't want to have my house cluttered with things that don't sell. I would almost rather just do custom orders that way I know I am making things people want. A lot of the craft show Vlogs I watch here on KZbin that is crochet related is all about selling plushies. I don't want plushies to be my focus, though it is important to have some in my opinion, since a lot of people that go to craft shows have children so it just makes sense to have a few. I dabble in all things crafts: I've made wreaths, dioramas, embroidery, sewing (pillow covers, bags, etc), crochet (hats, ornaments, flowers, coasters, placemats, hot pads, animals, etc) and I have been doing macrame, loving me some macrame. I just like too many different things and though that does open up my customer base I guess it can hurt as well. I did recently post to my Facebook friends and family to please reach out to me if they are ever looking for something handmade. Crafting is keeping me busy in retirement but there is only so much I can make for myself. I actually came up with my business name too and I love it. Actually set up a Facebook page to start and might do Instagram and a website too. You have videos on setting up a website right? I haven't looked into that yet. Anyway, I'll stop babbling on and on. Hi there! I'm glad you're here :) I love that you've thought so much about this! While I totally understand your hesitation and worries, I think there is a system that could work for you! For example, if you don't want to commit to a huge inventory cluttering up your house, you could decide to make a limited inventory that you specifically set aside for a show. Then, you bring that inventory to shows until it sells down. Based around that time frame, you could decide whether or not to make another inventory! For any items that don't sell that you'd like off your hands, you could mark them down. That obviously isn't ideal, but it may allow you to at least make something for what you made, and then you can pivot toward focusing on custom orders! All of this is not to say that you won't sell! I think you'll absolutely find a customer base, especially if you're intending to have a wider product selection! The only tip I have on that topic is to either A) have a cohesive theme that ties all these various products together, or B) properly section your display so the different types of items are together! If you ever have questions, I'd love to talk more! :)

Hi there! I always recommend you talk to other vendors and ask them about shows they do or know about! If that's not an option, a great place to look is actually Facebook, as many vendors and shows create groups! And then you can begin to ask them!

Usually the events will have a website of some sort that will either allow you to email the director directly, or put you on a list for when they release applications!

My husband is very much so a part of the business! At the moment, he works at a school as he has his Teaching Certificate, but he does so much of the background work and logistical things for the business! It's very much a team effort :) But he also has his own job he does too!

Everyone loves that hat. I even had a friend of mine's little girl who is 4 want one. So I just adjusted the ears and did, 2 half double crochets, then 4 double crochets, then 2 half double crochets. It made the ears perfect for the size of the hat. She loves it.❤
