I need much more of basics. Where can I learn how to make a reel? how to do a voice over? How do I create a space to make content? How do I edit a video? There must be some way to learn how to do all of this. I'm 63 years old so, yeah, I'm old and don't know how to do use this technology. HELP!

I'm 30 and it's grown pretty fast so I get that. You're a couple years younger than my mom and I'm still teaching her some things. You can do it! I think Camryn has said that she started out clearing a small space in her bedroom to film. My friend who makes content films on her phone and uses YouCut to edit. I haven't looked but there are probably tutorials on here to help you out with that.

I wrote you out a reply and it’s deleted? I think maybe it got censored because I mentioned app names in it so I’ll try again. I think it’s awesome you’re wanting to learn, I just started my channel but I use the app cap cut (one word no space) to edit my videos. It’s very user friendly and you can find KZbin tutorials for it, you can do voice overs, cut, add music all that. And then I use can va (one word no space) to make my thumbnails and edit my photos on IG. I use my phone to record, keep it horizontal for videos and vertical for reels 😊

That's very exciting that you want to post more reels! :) Many platforms like Instagram and KZbin have built-in abilities to edit reels (mainly cutting up clips to fit within the 60-second window), so that covers the minimum! There are a ton of tutorials here on KZbin, too, that are specifically about how to best edit reels and shorts!

Hello! Thank you for your video and for all the advice! I am just starting out and I am confused about something. I already have a personal Instagram Page, but not related to crochet. I am going through the process of starting my crochet business and.....should I create a whole new Instagram account? Should I just use my personal account and change everything to turn it into a Business Account and not have a Personal Account at all? Thank you for sharing all of your tips and talking about your own process through growing on social media! !'m currently an online college student so I want to commit to two posts a week. I don't want to stress myself out too much lol. The biggest struggle I face with wanting to grow social media is not knowing how to create a reel or a good caption. I have tried to make a couple so far but I feel like they just aren't that great. I would love if you could make a video on how you create a reel, coming up with unique ideas for them, how to make engaging captions to go along with them. I was also wanting to know if following the trends is a good idea?

I admire you for balancing work with school like that! I know it's hard! And that is a really great idea, creating a video talking about the actual content and what works best! In terms of your trends question, it really does depend! Overall, I'd say it's a smart idea to look at trends in a variety of communities and see what could be adapted to yours! Of course, it's never a good idea to outright copy someone, but using an audio that's trending isn't a bad idea at all!

I found your video very helpful. Thanks for sharing. I am currently trying to get back into my crafting business. I used to sell on Etsy and eBay years ago. I stopped because sells came to a dead stop and I didn't sell anything for 2 years and then life happened, and I moved 5 times in one year. Anyways I am trying to get back into things and I believe if I gain followers through IG then I could start selling again and possibly make my own website one day. So my questions are: Do I need to have my IG have a theme like I see so many businesses? and Do I need to have a store to start off with?

Can I even handle that? 😅😂 But my goal is to post SOMETHING once a week on Thursdays (haha highly specific Ik). As a grad student and busy elsewhere, once a week is good for me😂. But that’s my goal for this year. Once a week. Thank you for the tip on hashtags. As a viewer on instagram, I can’t stand seeing hashtags in posts😂 but I get why it’s helpful. So I’ll definitely do some digging and see how I want to narrow it down more. I also realized I have an idea of my ideal customer but also… if people outside of that wants to buy from me, whom am I to say no! 😂😂

That's a realization we all have multiple times! It's only natural to need to niche down, as we tend to expand outward over time!

It all starts with what you love to do and what you're good at doing! If you can identify those two things, you can look and see what about you and your work makes you unique, and then you can use that to define your niche!

That totally sounds like it would be a lot to handle! I do think you could post daily, though! If you're able to have one filming session a week, you could film all 7 (or 5, if you don't post on the weekends) at once, and then schedule them to post on specific days! That's what I do!

I've certainly had rather unsavory individuals leave comments and such, but I haven't noticed it to be a major problem! Usually, I will see most of that type of person in my livestreams, but they are easy to remove or block!
