First Time watching a Formula 1 US Grand Prix - Worth It ?! | Circuit of Americas

We finally made the trip to Austin, Texas to watch our first Formula 1 race. The race was at the "Circuit of Americas" race track and was built just for the Formula 1 circuit. I've been a Formula 1 fan for years now and this trip was a bucket list item for me. My brother and cousin went too and we had an amazing time watching the race, seeing the cars, exploring Austin, and eating BBQ. Good times!

Austin is a BLAST for F1 weekend. Downtown has great concerts and people from all over the world are walking down the streets. Full day of racing and nights of partying. I'd say this was a solid CHECK off the bucket list!

We are thinking about going this year. Based on your experience, what’s the parking situation like? Also, should we get GA admission or a better ticket?

We Uber’d in but when we were at a stand still we got out of the car and walked to the venue. I heard reports that parking capacity will be maxed out. I would definitely go early if you’re driving. There are a lot of areas to setup with GA. I think you’ll find a good spot, just go early.

I’ve been to many Indy races, my dream is to go to an F1… thx for all the feedback and tips. Seems like F1 is more lenient when it comes to bringing your own chairs & drinks (at Indy they made me buy a camping chair to use for my pregnant wife instead of bringing my own camping chair)

This is the exact opposite of the truth. F1 tracks are ridiculously strict about bringing in food or drinks whereas Indycar races almost always let you bring in coolers full of food and beer. What track didn’t let you bring in your own chair?

Hi Did you guys took pictures with the drivers or autographs? They usually go by the parking lot when leaving the circuit after the race and you can actual ask them for an autograph ✍️.

So can you just pay for the race or do you have to go for the three day general admission tickets because I want to go for 2022 F1 I’m in Michigan I want to fly to Texas Austin and the tickets are releasing on the 16th of this month. Can I please get some advice I would really appreciate it.

You can just go for the race. Your ticket is good for the whole weekend if you like.

I like our spot which is the long hill on turn 2 right before the snake turns. Also turn 11, the cars slow down for the tight left hand turn. Both have good views and there is a video screen so you can watch the action when they are away from you. Get there early though, space will fill up. Scope it out the day before

@@maxzlotnik8242 yeah turn 1 is awesome because you see the start and because its elevated, you see the whooole straight. Just go early and grab a seat because they fill up fast. We were just after turn 2. Have fun and enjoy the race!!
