I think this is one of the best Alien movies, because it wasn't a bunch of expert scientists and astronauts who suddenly act the most stupidest for the purpose of the plot. This was a bunch of inexperienced, scared kids that hijacked a ship. And with the robots actually explaining some of the Alien and facehugger things it just provided them with what they needed to survive.

That was mostly just a Prometheus problem. While I did enjoy this one, I find I'm starting to really tire of over doing (or even just doing) callbacks to prior films. The amount of moments from other films just done again here really brought the movie down for me. The get away from her line was the absolute worst example, and after all the reused scenarios, it was just too much.

@@FullMetalB Personally I'm getting over the entire Alien franchise. It's the same thing every time, the only really creative thing they got going for them is their freedom to make a facehugger grab a new alien and bam, a new xenomorph variant, and it's dead by the end of the movie again

Re 3:00-ish comment: Jonesy the cat escaped from the Nostromo with Ripley and, last we saw, is still waiting back on Earth for her. And I've been waiting forty years for an Alien sequel that picks up HIS story.

Great reaction! Really liked this film and appreciated all the callbacks to the other films in the franchise, even down to some of the sound effects from _Alien_ and _Aliens_ and the opening credits using the same style of font that _Alien_ used for its opening credits. I'd say give both _Alien 3_ and _Alien: Covenant_ a chance as they're enjoyable in their own ways. 😁💜

I really liked this one. I think it helped that a bunch of haters gave it mediocre reviews. So many cool moments. If it’s not too late, I suggest “Oddity”. It’s a horror movie that came out this year and it’s excellent. I saw it on Shudder. I don’t know if you guys have that. I highly suggest it.
