Aliens is easily one of the greatest sequels ever made. As far as Im concerned, Aliens is the Citizen Kane of the action / sci-fi / horror genre. Its just a shame that you didn't watch the Special Edition. The Special Edition is the only way to watch Aliens now, especially after Alien Isolation. Sigourney Weaver shouldve won Best Actress. Thanks to James Cameron's writing and Sigourney Weavers acting, Ellen Ripley is one of the greatest, strongest, most iconic female characters ever put on film.

7:25 Looks like you're watching the wrong version. The special edition restores scenes that explain a lot of things. For example, Ripley lost her daughter in those 57 years floating in space, and felt guilty about leaving her to work for a company that considered her and her crew expendable. So, between that loss, losing everthing and everyone else, the constant trauma, barely having a low-end job to get by, it adds up to her going back to kill all the aliens and maybe having some kind of closure.

54:00 Maybe you'll ignore this, but watching 3 would be a mistake. It will ruin the first two movies for you, if you care about them at all. Even its own director walked out of the editing room before finishing it, and refuses to even talk about it, 30 years late. I'm not saying it's just a bad movie. You could get over a bad movie. But 3 is a huge middle finger to Cameron and the fans. It does a couple of unforgivable things. Not the kind you can ignore. There are some freaks who like it, but they have to real arguments to defend it. Because it's indefensible.
