Archer is a legendary series. Please keep going and honestly this is probably the weirdest episode with the mom stuff. They do have a messed up relationship, but it’s not sexual at all . The show gets really good !👌🏾

Archer is one of the best written, animated and voice acted shows out there. Each season is setup to be a compliment different situation with characters that have a backstory and history that you learn and then see unfold into the next season. The payoff is better every season and it really hits its stride on season 3 and keeps getting better every season after that (I'm on season 8 now and the show has been on three wildly different themes and settings since season 5. I won't spoil the surprise here, but I'll just say you won't know what you're missing if you don't give it two seasons to hook you).

If you've seen any Arrested Development, their are at least 5 people who are in both shows. Mallory Archer is identical to Luciel Bluth on Arrested Development. Personallity AND looks. Man you have to keep watching the show. It’s one of the wittiest and most hilarious animated shows out there. Chris Parnell is the voice actor for Cyril. He also does Jerry on R&M, and was on SNL for years, plus so much more, he’s OG. H. Jon Benjamin is the voice actor for archer and Bob. The show is absolutely crass, super dirty, ironic, and just a great spoof of spy movies. The writing is incredible and the jokes just don’t stop, weather it’s visual or verbal. Definitely try some more before you ditch it, because it’s so worth it.

Regarding the agency’s name: yes, it’s an unfortunate coincidence. ISIS stands for the International Secret Intelligence Service, and I’m pretty sure the acronym was meant to reference the Egyptian goddess. Later in the season, we learn about a rival agency with a similar naming scheme. I haven’t seen other reactors facing issues regarding their videos being affected by the name being mentioned personally, but if you feel the need to er on the side of caution, you do you. If the name makes you uncomfortable, then you can take comfort in the fact that the name gets changed in later seasons following the activities of the ISIS we know of.

Great to see that you have finally discovered Archer! Just so you know, only Season 1 to 8 plus Season 10 are good, since they were all written by the same genius writer, Adam Reed. The rest of the seasons (i.e S9, S11, S12, S13) should be avoided at all cost, because they were written by terrible writers who did a God-awful job, which is really sad since Archer used to have the best writing of any animated series.
