Hope you enjoyed the movie. A extended cut of Batman Forever does exist and has yet to be shown to the masses. It has more scenes and even more moments of a darker tone. Shout-out to you for picking up D.C. 1000, this one was a must have. Bats' hits his 85th anniversary in 2024. Always glad to see another Batfan showing love for the legacy.

Definitely an underrated Batman movie. Val Kilmer is a worthy successor of Michael Keaton.

I still have the original VHS for this movie. That year before, back in 1994, I went on the roof of the South Tower as a child, here in NYC. Which is crazy in the movie, the Statue of Liberty gets hit by a helicopter. Kiss from a Rose, by Seal, is my favorite song of all time. I just discovered your channel today on a side note. I am saying good morning to you from my home of NYC. I'm getting ready for an art/theater meeting with a new friend later today. We'll be combining art/theatrical exercises I do with my best friends and the public. Sincerely, Terrell

Val Kilmer was always my favorite Batman of the 80s/90s films Keaton was a great Batman, but he lacked the playboy charm of Bruce Wayne Clooney was a great Bruce Wayne, but he lacked the gravitas need for Batman Kilmer wasn't the best at either, but where he succeeded was understanding the duality of the role and having to be both at the same time Granted, no movie Batman of any era has been able to hold a candle to Kevin Conroy's performance in Batman The Animated Series, but still...

Now, Batman & Robin (George Clooney), then The Dark Knight trilogy (Christian Bale) after that The Batman (Robert Pattinson).

There are only a few Batman movie I care to watch. This is one of them. The others are Batman and Robin, Batman vs Superman Dawn of the Justice League. I been going through a nostalgic phase recently and been watch old movies I love and though to add a few to your recommendations if you are open to them. Dances with Wolves and Waterworld. Both have Kevin Costner as the lead actor. Both are fantastic movies which are classics at this point.

Alot of people ask the question why did Bruce lie to Robin? Batman didn't want Robin to kill Two-Face. Yet, Batman in the end kills him. Let's think about it. Robin's parents died at Bruce's feet, right in front of Bruce. This is a man who already went through a traumatic experience seeing his parents get killed as a child. Now as an adult, he sees Robin's parents, and brothers, get killed right infront of him, and landing at his feet. That was enough right there for Batman to kill Two-Face. Yes, Robin was mad about not getting the revenge. Looking back on it, it made sense why Batman lied. Batman waited for the moment.

What lie do you mean? Batman killed Two-Face in defense, not in revenge.

Michael Keaton & Tim Burton chose not to come back for a 3rd film. However, this next one would be credited as 'A Tim Burton production' for what he was putting together in terms of scope and character development (pretty solid). The late Joel Schumacher (The Wiz, Sparkle, D.C. Cab) was brought in to direct, re-energize the franchise and ultimately, his 2 Batfilms are set in an alternate universe different from Burton's films. Great casting all around particularly Kilmer as Wayne/Batman, Carrey as Nygma/Riddler (brilliant) and O'Donnell as Grayson/Robin (long time coming). It's great that late actors, Pat Hingle (Commissioner Gordon) & Michael Gough (Alfred) were still involved. This was the most 'comic book' Batman movie at the time with the mix of gothic and colorful, action and suspense, drama and humor, shock and awe, all great stuff. The central theme of Duality with these characters and situations, thanks to Burton, do make these films more intriguing. A few moments and surprises added a little more to the palate. The score and soundtrack are among the greatest of the 1990s. Good songs from great artists including 'Kiss from a Rose' (originally from 1993) by Seal, award-winning/top tier movie ballad. As much of a monster as in the time of the 1989 original, the franchise grew larger, practically invincible. Batman Forever became the highest grossing film of the year, first of two Batfilms with that milestone. Weather it's comic book movies; sequels or summer blockbusters, this one goes up there with the best of them. One of the best Batfilms ever and the last successful (critically/commercially) Batfilm before Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy.

The reason why Tim Burton didn’t direct this movie was because everybody was so outraged with Batman Returns. McDonald’s couldn’t sell happy meal toys because there were too many disturbing images. So WB told Burton to step down as director and he was replaced with Joel Schumacher. Michael Keaton left because he didn’t see eye to eye with Schumacher on how Batman should be

That is a sweet comic, a lot of talented people in the industry that worked on that issue. The big t-rex mechanical dinosaur is an old keepsake in the batcave, he also has a giant penny in there from another incident. I'm not sure if you're a teacher, but I could totally see you as a good teacher with your enthusiasm.

This COULD have been good if they had given Riddler & Two-Face actual characters. Instead both actors do THEIR own version of The Joker, laughing constantly. Even without character-writing, the director should have told both actors to tone it down with the laughing.

I didn't particularly like this one and the next one. They changed the 'feel' of the series, tried to make everything quirky and put neon and black-lights everywhere. Just with the whole safe scene with the security guard at the beginning made me dislike it from the start. It's like they just threw a few villain characters in there, and took a week to write a story, then shot everything in 30 days. It looked and felt 'cheap'. Rushed. Unrevised. They tried to "make it funny", and this just doesn't work for BATMAN. The next one is worse.
