Yes, Chandler’s dad was played by a cis woman, Kathleen Turner, who is known for her deep voice; she was the voice of Jessica Rabbit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit and was a major sex symbol and leading lady in 1980s Hollywood, before weight gain caused by rheumatoid arthritis in addition to turning 40 slowed her film career in the 90s. She’s still working though and just as fantastic an actor as she was at the start of her career. The spitting actor is Gary Oldman, whom you might know from the Harry Potter series as Sirius Black and Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy as Commissioner James Gordon; he and Matt LeBlanc (Joey) even did a movie together, Lost in Space, before he guest-starred on Friends.

Kathleen Turner plays Chandler’s dad. You should see Romancing the Stone. She is the female lead in that opposite Michael Douglas and Danny Devito. It’s so good. And then they did the sequel Jewel of the Nile. It was a big hit for hen it came out.
