A lot of people misunderstand Walt. He comes from a generation that values actions over words. He was never racist. He uses racist language because he considers his actions more important than his words.

The funniest thing about his disdain for people is that he has the most disdain for his own family. 😂 I love that, at the end of the movie, he gave his car to Tao. Even gave the house away, but not to family. Good movie! Good video, too .. Sub’d!
@rcslyman8929

Rightfully so, too. His "family" was all a bunch of backstabbing ingrates. The son's funhole ran his life and was ready to lock Walt away in a hospice so she could rifle through the rest of his property for anything that might fetch a nose-full of value.

Is that something people can actually do in real life, give their house to non-family members or even charity? I thought it had to go to the surviving spouse/children by law. Also, Walt even says it in the movie that he has more in common with them than his own family.

My daughter and her fiance ran into Clint Eastwood in a little store in Carmel, California. Mathew asked him if he was Clint Eastwood and Clint looked at his wife and asked her if he was Clint Eastwood that day. She nodded yes .He had a grin on his face and shook their hands. I guess she nodded yes because she knew that they weren't going to pester them.

The Older you get, the more pain you're in. Imagine how fun and care free it was to be a kid compared to now with Taxes, Jobs, Taxes, Bills, Taxes, Politics and taxes. Now Imagine the difference between you now... and with 50 years of added arthritis. Basically why old people are grumpy.

Hear hear. The older I get, the more I come to better understand all the grumpy old farts I sneered at as a younger person. You can't possibly know anyone's whole story and why they are the person they've become. I've definitely come to understand the bitterness that older people often display. I've become, "one of them". As much as I love this movie, it feels like we’re lacking a lot of context (because we’re seeing everything from Walt’s perspective). Like, was Walt’s family spoiled and disrespectful because that’s how they were, or because in the past Walt wasn’t a good father to them? Also why does the grandmother despise Walt so much? We miss a lot of her dialogue because it’s not subtitled, and there’s clearly a history there. It seems like those things would have given the movie and Walt’s character more depth.
