Rightfully so, too. His "family" was all a bunch of backstabbing ingrates. The son's funhole ran his life and was ready to lock Walt away in a hospice so she could rifle through the rest of his property for anything that might fetch a nose-full of value.

My daughter and her fiance ran into Clint Eastwood in a little store in Carmel, California. Mathew asked him if he was Clint Eastwood and Clint looked at his wife and asked her if he was Clint Eastwood that day. She nodded yes .He had a grin on his face and shook their hands. I absolutely love this movie. It kicks me in the gut every time. I’ve always thought of Walt and Eastwoods character Gunny Highway from Heartbreak Ridge. If you’ve never seen it, it is my other favorite Eastwood film. It’s a great film, I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it.

That was a great movie, he was racist terms, but when it really came down to it, he had a good heart, and he had a close bond that kid toad lol. As much as I love this movie, it feels like we’re lacking a lot of context (because we’re seeing everything from Walt’s perspective). Like, was Walt’s family spoiled and disrespectful because that’s how they were, or because in the past Walt wasn’t a good father to them? Also why does the grandmother despise Walt so much? We miss a lot of her dialogue because it’s not subtitled, and there’s clearly a history there. It seems like those things would have given the movie and Walt’s character more depth.
