1. They're 17 2. Hermione modified her parents memories. Gave them new names and had them move to Australia as a childless couple to protect them. She knew when she didn't show up at Hogwarts that Death Eaters would go after her muggle parents for information because she's known to be one of Harry's best friends. 3. Ron took precautions to protect his family with his father's help as well in the book. Sirius left everything to Harry..including Grimmauld Place and Kreacher. Dobby is free. The Ministry is saying that any muggleborn witch/wizard stole their magic from a "real" witch/wizard. They don't consider anyone without at least one pureblood for a parent to be "real" witches/wizards. Ron has more insecurities and feelings of inferiority for the horcrux to play on and amplify than the other two do. Actually for all of her preparations Hermione, who grew up a muggle, forgot to pack any non-perishable food in her bottomless bag. The Hallows were given to the 3 brothers *way* before Dumbledore, Voldemort or even Nicholas Flamel who was 666 were born. Speculation is that the 3 brothers were ancestors of Voldemort, Harry and Dumbledore. The brother in the grave in Godrick's Hollow is Ignotus Peverell and possibly Harry's ancestor who passed down the cloak of invisibility. Harry is he only one in the books who was born in Godric's Hollow.

Bill delivering the news of Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody's death is worse when you know that their actors, Brendan (Mad-Eye) and Domhnall (Bill) Gleason, are father and son in real life.

It's wild to think that, when he's visiting their grave, Harry is only a few years younger than his parents were when they died.

Yeah it's a shame, really. About the actors, I mean. The cast is absolutely fantastic but I've always wished for Harry's parents to be portrayed younger in the films. Hell, even some teachers like Snape.. he should be in his late 30s, canonically. Well, for what it's worth they did an amazing job either way.

The reason Kreacher was acting differently towards Harry than he did to Hermione is because Sirius not only left Grimauld Place (the former headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix) to Harry in a will but Harry also inherited Kreacher as well. As a result Kreacher is magically bound to obey Harry. Harry never freed Kreacher because Dumbledore asked Harry not to due to Kreacher knowing way to much about The Order of the Phoenix secret group. When Harry found out about Regelus Black being R.A.B Kreacher told Harry about how Regelus use to be a Deatheater during the first war. But one day Regelus found out that Voldemort was using his favorite house elf to experiment on when he was creating the evil magical defenses in the cave where the Slytherin locket was originally located. When Kreacher told Harry about how he was tortured by Voldemort and how Regelus sacrifice himself to save Kreacher, Harry felt sorry for Kreacher to the point that he gifted Kreacher the fake Slytherin locket that use to belong to Regelus. From that moment on Kreacher changed his attitude not only towards Harry but he began to be kind to Hermione and Ron as well. 📿🪄

The Death Eaters thought Harry will be with one of the most dangerous and experienced member of the Order like Moody or Shacklebolt, they thought that Hagrid has a decoy one, but then Harry used the Expelliarmus spell in a life or death situation to disarm the enemy. They immediately knew it is Harry, because he also used the same spell at the graveyard against Voldemort. It's something like his signature spell, because he doesn't want to kill people (Not even by making them fall down from a broom) and Snape was flying there with them Death Eaters, he is the one who cut off George Weasley's ear by the spell Sectumsempra.

I think you're one of the first reactors I have seen who have recognized and commented on Moody's eye in Umbridge's door, good catch! And yes, there was a spell on the toilet that kept shoes dry while standing there. In the books, they actually had to take a course on Apparition and the teacher talked about the Three D's - Destination, Determination and Deliberation. Without that, there is the possibility of getting Splinched which is when you leave something of yourself behind. So because Hermione had to shrug off Yaxley as he came along with them and redirect them somewhere else as she had intended to go to Grimmauld Place, but with Yaxley holding on the place wasn't safe anymore. Grimmauld place was under the protection of the Fidelius Charm and bringing someone into it's boundaries would have made Yaxley a Secret Keeper as well and he would be able to bring other Death Eaters to the place. It's kind of sad that the movies don't really show Kreacher's redemption arc. Also in the books, Hermione knows how to destroy Horcruxes as she had 'Accio'd' the Horcrux books from the open window of Dumbledore's office into the Gryffindor girl's dorm rooms. It speaks of having to use very strong methods of destruction like basilisk venom and Fiend Fyre being two such substances, but Hermione didn't trust them to control Fiend Fyre because it is notoriously very hard to control. As someone else said below about their food situation, in the books, it says that one of the magical rules kind of like Newton's Law of Physics or whatever, magic cannot conjure food out of thin air. It can make more of it if you have some and they did a lot of scrounging for food on their travels. It was one of the things that made it hard for Ron because he was used to having meals from his mom or the Hogwarts house elves, so that, combined with being Splinched, and his low self-esteem thinking that he wasn't good enough for Hermione and the jealousy made the necklace affect him more. I am not much of a fan of the dancing scene they put it. That part was not in the book, I feel like they could have added other scenes from the book that would have explained some things better because also a lot of people get confused with that scene thinking it was some romantic happening with Hermione and Harry. If you also remember book 2, when Harry tells Dobby 'Promise me something, never try to save my life again,' it's a kind of foreshadowing his death in this one. Also love how you had to get your head together after this one and can't wait to see your brain explode in the next one lol! After these you should really check out the Fantastic Beasts one too!!

Ok so just thought I'd mention that the eye on umbridges door is alastor Moody's eye in the books Harry actually on his way out of her office takes it with him and while they're at their first camp site burys the eye to effectively give moody a burial since his body was recovered by the death eaters

'the wand chooses the wizard' . The resurrection stone only brings loved one's images back from the dead: they do not have solid bodies. The stone was mounted in the ring belonging to Voldemort's mother so Voldemort is related to the 2nd Peveril brother whereas Harry is related to the 3rd, hence as you correctly realised; that's why Harry has the cloak. Carnage follows in the next one!

Harry was more broken up more about Dobby because he sees Dobby a lot more in the books. He sees him in the half blood prince, goblet of fire, and I think the 5th but can’t remember. Dobby works at Hogwarts, shows up to give Harry and Christmas present, and was the one who gave Harry the gillyweed.

If i’m remember good from the books, Sirius left the house to Harry in the will, that means that Harry is the new master of Creature. Dobby is a free elf, he doesn’t have a master

Fleur was saved when Harry sent up red sparks. The adults could find her and rescue her. edit: I'm glad you immediately realized when Voldy took Lucius' wand, he took away a great chunk of his magic abilities. He could use another's wand, but probably not get the same result. Edit: the wand book Ron brought with him, after his "solo tour" , just in case, was performing rather feebly for book Harry.

It was this thing when Ron left; he actually wouldn't be able to find them again, because of the proctective spells and enchantments around the tent. And no, they had no food. They were half starving most of the time. And that affected Ron the most. He's used to get plenty if good food, whether it was cooked at Hogwarts or by his mum, who was an excellent cook. Harry was used to live on a limited amount of food, at the Dursley's and Hermione had good control over her temper 😛

Yeah voldemorts only got to inherit the resurrection stone bc it was the stone that was on the horcrux ring that belonged to his mom. Harry inherited the the cloak from his dad. And the elder wand, was stolen from another wizard by the blonde guy(grindlewald, one of dumbledores old friend/frenemies). Voldemort just wanted the elder wand from dumbledore since it is the most powerful wand to exist. It didn’t belong to him.

Obliviate was used in the second movie. Hermione removes memories of herself so that her parents won’t be tortured for information. She sent them away & plans to restore their memories if all goes well. The movies leave out things that cause confusion.

@debbiecantwell7739. It is confusing especially since in the book Hermione modified her parents memories, instead of removing them. I get why they used “Obliviate” because it was a familiar spell since Lockhart used it in the second movie but Obliviate is permanent while modified memories can be restored. It’s also mentioned in the books that Hermione not only modified her parents memories to protect them from the Death Eaters but to protect them from grieving if she didn’t survive. How heartbreaking is that - your own parents wouldn’t even remember you if you died.

As I figure it... In times past, few could read; in fact, those who couldn't read aw reading as itself a kind of magic. In the British Isles and France, the priest class were the Druids, whose disciplines included poetry, song, and oral history. One oral history is the "Tale of the Three Brothers". One think you have to understand about oral history is that it is not 'static'; the story becomes modified and embellished over time with the telling. Oral history relies on the storyteller's memory and imagination, and sometimes the tale is modified to make it easier to remember or embellished to make a more interesting story. Characters are added, events stretched, and motives introduced that were not present in the original event. To sift out the truth in oral history, the story must be scrutinized. Over a thousand years ago, before the founding of Hogwarts, there were indeed three brothers, of obvious magical mastery. They were the Peverells: Antioch, Cadmus, and Ignotus. 'Death' was never a discrete character; 'Death' never offered the brothers gifts; this is an embellishment. Antioch crafted the Elder Wand, the most powerful wand of all time. But e was prideful with it, brandishing it to one and all and abusing it. It never goes well for anyone being so public with an object of great power; they make themselves a target of those with ambition or desirous of power. So it was with Antioch, whose throat was slit as he slept by the one who stole the Wand from him. Cadmus invested power into the 'Resurrection' Stone, though the Stone is poorly-named. You would think it was a life-giving artifact, but it is not. The way the Stone functions is by summoning a spirit and holding it captive until released. The spirit undergoes slowly-increasing pain as it's held here in the material world. There is no 'resurrection'; it's an imprisonment. As Dumbledore has said, there is no magic that can return anyone to life. If there was, it would have been done by now, and it never has. The Stone has passed through many hands, including once belonging to Salazar Slytherin himself. Eventually, it passed through Tom Riddle Jr's mother's hands, by which time it had been set in a ring, which Tom Jr inherited. Ignotus created a Cloak of Invisibility of incredible sustainability. Other wizards have made invisibility cloaks, but every other one requires the magic to be 'recharged'. All other cloaks lose their ability, but not the one Ignotus made. It is believed Ignotus began the tradition of passing the Cloak down to the firstborn son (daughter, if there was no male heir). Jammes Potter got it from his mother, Harry from James. That would make Harry a descendant of Ignotus Peverell, who is buried within yards of James and Lily in the Village of Godric's Hollow, where Harry was born. And that statement about how owning all three of the Deathly Hallows "makes one master of death"? Codswallop. It's another dramatic but meaningless embellishment. There's no evidence of it.

Personally, I don't think Snape looks 'sinister'; I think he looks grim. And he has every right to look grim, hanging out with an unstable murderous psychopath. Snape is meeting Voldemort and his 'council' at Malfoy Manor. At the table (where Draco grew up having his family meals) is Voldemort, the soon-to-be Minister of Magic Pius, Bellatrix, Lucius, Narcissa, and Draco. The Malfoy family are little more than captives in their own home, Voldemort having essentially taken possession of their ancestral property. The scream you hear, that Voldemort tells Wormtail to keep quiet, is Ollivander being imprisoned and tortured in the Malfoy cellar. Voldemort is obsessed with completing the killing of Harry by wand magic; Ollivander was kidnapped for his knowledge of wandlore, to help Voldemort find a wand and a way to finish the job started when Harry was a baby. One suggestion was to use another's wand since the phoenix feathers in Voldemort's and Harry's wands won't let it happen. Voldemort 'asks' (demands) Lucius's wand, which is done in an emasculating way. But Lucius is so terrified, he complies, something Draco takes in fully. Lucius's time in Azkaban has broken him; the remainder of the franchise Lucius never regains his former nerve. Narcissa is breathless and poker-faced, trying to recede into the background and watching for the chance, should it present itself, to get her son out of this chaos. Draco, meanwhile, continues in his awakening as to what is foundationally wrong with his father's former way of bullying for advantage. And then he has to sit at his childhood table and watch as one of his teachers is murdered within reach of him and fed to a giant snake. ________________________________________________________________ The night of the wedding reception is Harry's 17th birthday, the 31st of July; the Trace is already lifted from him. Ron turned 17 in March and Hermione turned 17 in September; they are all safely out of sight from the Ministry and Voldemort's followers who have infiltrated the Ministry. Note: Just as Voldemort had happen during the First Wizarding War around Harry's birth, Voldemort has had a Taboo created around his name. Using the spell that creates the Trace as a base, anyone who speaks the name 'Voldemort' is immediately located and Death Eaters show up to kidnap, torture, or kill those present. THIS is why people have been afraid to say his name; it calls vicious Death Eaters. Voldemort's followers don't call him 'Voldemort'; they call him 'The Dark Lord". As the Trio sit in the coffeeshop waiting for their cappuccinos to be served, Harry pronounces the name 'Voldemort'. Two Death Eaters then enter the coffeeshop and the fight breaks out. Only Hermione is likely to have tasted cappuccino in the muggle world; I think Ron and Harry just follow her lead, so's not to stand out. ________________________________________________________________ House elves are slaves; they're 'property'. They convey with the rest of the property to whoever inherits. Sirius bequeath his property to Harry; Kreacher is Harry's property now. And House elves live a long life, much longer than wizards/witches. Dobby was about 50 when he and Harry met, so Dobby was nearly a child. Kreacher is around 660; this is why house elves convey with dead wizards' estates. It's why house elves speak of serving the 'family', not the individual. Nore: Hermione as an adult initiates legal/political action to improve rights for magical creatures, concentrating on house elves. ________________________________________________________________ Mundungus Fletcher was NOT taken by the Death Eaters; Mundungus disapparated (transported) when the Death Eaters attacked Mad-Eye, leaving Mad-Eye to die in the attack. Mundungus is a common thief; he tried to tell them he this wasn't his fight. Dumbledore helped Mundungus out of some trouble and Mundungus felt he owed Dumbledore for that. And Dumbledore was glad to have someone who could bring him intell from the streets. But when Dumbledore died, Mundungus no longer felt any loyalty to The Order of the Phoenix. Once Sirius died and the Order ceased to meet at Sirius's townhouse, Mundungus broke in and stole a few things. Not all at once, but at his leisure. Mundungus took the locket horcrux and he took a mirror, among other things, as Kreacher says. The mirror he sold to Aberforth. Harry carries a shard from that mirror. The mirror and the shard shares images and allows communication over distances; the Order used it during the First Wizarding War, allowing a person 'in the field' to communicate with the Order back at Sirius's townhouse. Now the mirror hangs in Aberforth's pub, in a back room. Mundungus was caught in Knockturn Alley by Umbridge as he was trying to sell the locket ('flog my wares' is slang for 'selling my items'). Umbridge liked the locket and took it off him. By the way, Umbridge is NOT a Death Eater, she's just another psychopath. Death Eaters cannot produce a Patronus, and Umbridge is seen in a later scene with her cat Patronus sitting next to her, keeping the Dementors pinned to the ceiling above the Interrogation Room. When Harry knocks Umbridge out, the Patronus cat disappears and the Dementors are freed to come after Harry and crew. ________________________________________________________________ "Muggles. In their 'rightful place'." "What'd we ever do to y'all?" There is a very good reason why the Wizarding World keeps itself hidden, and why the Ministry of Magic was set up to keep muggles unaware of wizards, witches, and magic. There is a reason Hogwarts was set up at the backend of beyond and why concealment spells keep things hidden. When muggles see magic and magic users, they either freak out and assume wizards and witches will use their power on mere muggles, or they try to force magic users to give unscrupulous muggles an advantage over other muggles. Families and even whole villages have been murdered, individuals have been imprisoned, tortured, or burned. It hasn't gone well for the Wizarding World when muggles learn magic is real. It's not an inconvenience, it's survival of a whole community. And the aggression comes from muggles. ________________________________________________________________ Yes; that's Moody's eye in Umbridge's office door. Harvested from his dead body. ________________________________________________________________ I love how, when the head Snatcher is facing Hermione in the woods with her protective barrier between them, the camera circles a full 360° around them, TWICE crossing through the barrier and showing a distortion each time, but also shows how the Snatcher can't see Hermione just inches away. But he can smell her perfume. ________________________________________________________________ Lucius is hard on the bad side of Voldemort; he wants to get back on his good side before Voldemort gets around to killing him. He suspects the 'ugly kid' is Harry, but doesn't dare bother Voldemort until they're certain it's really Harry. So they call over Draco to confirm the identification. But Draco doesn't want to; he tries to buy time to figure out what to do. Then Bellatrix catches sight of the Sword of Gryffindor being held by one of the Snatchers. The reason the Sword was missing was because Bellatrix had stolen it and had it placed in her vault at Gringotts. She has other stuff in there that she doesn't want anyone to see or know about, so she's mad to find out when the Trio had gotten in her vault and refuses to believe they didn't. This is all happening in Malfoy Manor, which has become Voldemort's base of operations in what is now the Second Wizarding War. Ollivander is still imprisoned in the Malfoy cellar, where Luna is now also being kept. Harry, Ron, and Griphook the goblin are put down there, Harry pulls out that piece of mirror, and Dobby is sent to rescue them. In the ensuing fight upstairs, Draco ends up with his own and Bellatrix's wands; Harry runs over and wrestles those two wands from Draco, disarming him, and Dobby disapparates them out of there to safety.
