I don't know jack shit about Dr. Who and very little about Star Trek yet outside of Star Wars they are the most popular series in sci-fi. There are people in the world who don't know who Michael Jordan is despite him still being the most famous athlete in the world. And I'm not being hyperbolic, he is still the most famous athlete in the world. While it does seem like common knowledge in reality Aqua man and his lore is the least used in pop culture. The most people tend to know about him is that he can speak to sea life. Also knowing some information doesn't mean you know how its applied to the material. Its like how I know who Spock is but I have no idea what he does in the series. I know he has pointy ears and does that finger thing. A Star Trek fan would be "baffled" at how I didn't know such common knowledge about one of the most well known characters in the series.. So yeah, while i find it funny, I totally understand how it can happen. Now if they claimed to be legit fans than that would be different.

Superman is weak to magic. Or, to be more specific, he has no protection against it. Earth’s yellow sun grants him near invincibility to anything in the natural world so no man made weapon can harm him, but he remains vulnerable to the supernatural. This isn’t the same as a weakness, to be clear. Kryptonite actually weakens and damages him, whereas magic is more like the only thing that can actually give him a challenge in a fight. And also to clarify, Kryptonians are just regular people when under their native red sun, it’s only yellow ones that give them superpowers, which is why red sunlights are often used to keep rogue kryptonians subdued in D.C. media.

Exactly, people think he is weak to magic but its more of a vulnerability to magic. He lacks a means of resistance against It. Although in his later years he does pick up some tricks to help him against lower grade magic including mind control.

@@stancinatti8198 Edit: Ok, lets see if this works. Think of Superman as a barrier protecting a city. A weakness ie Kryptonite can force the barrier to break down so that everything can now damage the city. Where as Magic simply passes through the barrier making whatever the barrier is protecting vulnerable to direct damage but only from that source. (there are some caveats to this but lets keep it simple.) So I could damage him with magic but he would still be unaffected by bullets. Where as Kryptonite would weaken his body making it so bullets and everything else can harm him. Hopefully that clears things up.

Super Friends was the show that ruined Aquaman for GENERATIONS. He is badass as hell! He is essentially the King of the Earth since the oceans cover most of it. If he truly wanted to he could destroy the surface but he is too good due to being raised there. Green Lantern is my favorite DC super hero! You need to watch Hal Jordan's origin story, it's one of the cooler ones there is. No trauma from a family dead, no accident to give him powers. Just chosen because he represented the best of us humans. BTW, Magic can hurt Superman, it's one of the only things other than Kryptonite that can do so. It's why Magic is so powerful in the DC universe.

Aquaman is always half Atlantian. This is usually how his origin story goes. Louis Lane is Superman's most canon and most common SO but Diana does have a relationship with him or Batman (whose main squeeze is either Catwoman or Talia depending on the arc/universe) in some arcs/adaptations. Justice League and its continuation, Justice League Unlimited, is one example of WW x BM. (I was going to correct myself on Lois's name, but decided not to.)

I really liked in the comics after Orm was imprisoned he saved a female prison guard during a riot and breakout when a bunch of villains were about to kill her and do unsavory things to her as she pleaded that she had a son. Orm saved her and she helped him escape and she lived with him and they ended up falling in love and he honesty became a great husband and step-father to her son. Guy was going to PTA meetings and living life like a normal guy. Then he got roped into going back to Atlantis with Mera and he made the choice to try and take the throne again, failed, then asked to leave and continue living on the surface with his wife and step-son… but Mera had enough of his antics and the threat he posed and had him imprisoned. He ultimately got out and went back to his family but he had gone full ‘I must become king, I must serve Atlantis, even above my own happiness’ and left his wife when she wouldn’t go along. He then told her one day he’d come back to take his step-son with him as he was now his heir. I don’t recall if any other developments happened with that plot, but it was really nice seeing Orm not really evil, he was an honorable enemy who did all the evil out of love for his people and genuinely believed he had a duty to be their king. And the fact he changed his view on surface dwellers by marrying one and helping raising one and just living with them and being a normal person like them. Was honestly sad how it ended up with him leaving his family.

DCAMU is to distinguish it from the original DCAU, which was the universe of Batman the Animated Series, Superman Man the Animated Series, and Justice League/Justice League Unlimited. That era is kind of considered the peak of DC in general, but it is insanely long. And there IS a specific watch order. (Or at least one has to make sure to watch Superman TAS before the Justice League shows.)

2:29 If you guys want to check out some more Green Lantern content Id highly recommend the animated movies *Green Lantern: First Flight (2009) and Green Lantern: Emerald Knights (2011)* , both of them are great GL movies that are set outside of the DCAMU movies. I also highly recommend the *Green Lantern: Animated Series* which sadly lasted one season, but believe me when I say it is such a fantastic season and truly explores the intergalactic side of DC with so much fascinating worldbuilding and complex characters and good animation that amazes me why it was even cancelled You guys should totally check out the Aquaman movies whenever you can because though they take place in the controversial DCEU live-action universe that ended, those movies are still a ton of fun and honestly, some of the better films in that franchise, as Jason Momoa is pretty good as Aquaman and showed how cool and badass of a character Aquaman is while having some great visuals and insane effects and action scenes.

This film demonstrates a point I've often made that Mera would be a better member of the Justice League than Aquaman given her much wider range of abilities while Arthur mostly focuses on boosting himself physically given his lack of formal training. Superman’s other weakness is not just Kryptonite. He’s also a vulnerable against magic and those who possesses such abilities. Such as Shazam being an example. However, it’s not as potent as Kryptonite is and he can still fight people like that off. Also, contrary to popular belief, Atlantans who are of royal blood, like Aquaman, his mother and his half-brother Orm, they can survive in both land and sea without protection. Those that are not of royal or high born blood needs protective gear if they’re on land. Edit: usually non high borns can’t survive without protective gear but I kind of forgot that these soldiers apparently can survive without issues lol.

His home planet blow up (hence the meteorite fragments called kryptonite) Also even the writers thought the character is op so they figured he needs a nother weakness! There’s two green lantern animated movies and a green lantern show you should watch. You should watch the green lantern show before season four of Young Justice (Hint hint). In regards to Aquaman, he’s super powerful. Aquaman is supposed to be on par with Wonder Woman when he’s on land, and he becomes much stronger in water. He can summon storms, shoot lightning, jump like the Hulk, use magic, etc. His telepathic ability to control to animals doesn’t just work on aquatic creatures. It’s basically the ability to manipulate the mind of any creature that is a descendant of aquatic creatures (including humans). He apparently has the ability to make people have a stroke or a seizure. He had way more powers in the comics when he got his water god powers. He’s OP.

Something Important you guys need to know about Superman's race, the Kryptonians. Their solar system has a Red Sun. For some reason, the red sun causes them to be almost like regular humans. But if a Krytonian is exposed to a yellow sun, like in our solar system, they gain the powers that Superman has here. Red Sun suppresses their powers.

Aquaman is the butt of jokes because he isn't like as strong as superman or wonder woman but he definitely has some crazy amazing scenes in comics. Like when an enemy has him on the ropes is mocking him "There is not whales or sharks here to save you!" and aquaman just goes "what about plankton?" and the dude he was fighting instantly has seizure from plankton going into his head.

I think Aquamans mom was injured and washed up and Aquamans dad found her and saved her life, they later fell in love and had a kid but she had a duty to Atlantis and had to marry the king. The trident was able to hurt Superman because it uses Atlantian magic, and Superman has a vulnerability to magic.

For those who dont know the voice of orm is a great man by the name of sam witwer aka the luckiest star wars nerd to ever live and one of the reasons the clone wars had some great moments. Also he had his own game star wars the force unleashed which is by far in my opinion the best single player star wars game ever and has a great story about how the rebelion was formed and where they got there symbol. Personally i like the games version of how the rebellion got its start better than the disney one.

Basically, superman's people are just like humans in their own planet due to the conditions under which they developed. Clark was only able to develop super powers because the conditions on earth were much better for his kryptonian physiology (Krypton had a red sun and a higher gravity whilst earth's sun is yellow and it's gravitational pull is weaker in comparison). Now, as much as kryptonian are resistant to "natural" stuff under the right conditions, they can be just as easily put down by the super natural as any other chum. This is why Orm was able to mop the floor with supes when he had the trident

They kinda butchered Crisis, made me sad. Like, I think it’s the best dc movie they’ve done in a while but… it’s just combining things from the 3 Crisis storylines into one story which really doesn’t work. Mostly mad that we won’t get any actual Crisis stories now. Infinite and Final are my two favorite DC storylines by a mile. It was basically Crisis on Infinite Earths but with story beats and moments from the other Crisis stories which was weird. Like the ending with Miracle Machine was straight out of Final Crisis. Idk This means we aren’t ever gonna get Superboy-Prime, true form Darkseid, actual Anti-Monitor, Mandrakk (strongest DC villain), Thought Robot, etc.

A note on Cyborg's abilities in this continuity: he's actually upgraded from his previous selves, as he is merged with New God tech, which is lightyears ahead of he used to have in the previous universe. I'm guessing the writers of the New52 decided to do that, so as to help him keep up with the other Leaguers.

Batman and Hal have a rivalry. They constantly screw with each other early on. They’re opposites. Batman is a loner who uses shadows and fear and has rigid rules. Hal is someone who overcomes fear and uses light and doesn’t know what the world ‘rule’ means.

Late, but there are two movies for Green Lantern. First Flight and Emerald Knights. The first focuses on Hal, the second on the Corps. Notably not sharing any continuity with any movies, even each other, despite sharing the art style. But this also lets the Corps. flex without other heroes or grander villains who need a Worf to beat up. So the Green Lanterns truly get to shine.

fine enough weapons (atom-width blades and the like) can cut through Superman's bioelectric aura and harm him. So can magic weapons (like the trident), as his defenses don't protect him from magic, so he is as vulnerable to it as any human. He also gets his power from exposure to the sun, so being so deep, he's draining his reserves and his powers are waning a bit.

A regular knife does nothing to Superman's invulnerability but if it's a kryptonite knife or an enchanted one then Superman will get cut up. One of his "main" bad guys is a Lord of Hell named Satanus because demons are usually super strong and have magic which puts them on Superman's level.

a lesser known thing about superman is that when it come to magic he's got the same defence as the average person(usually its drowned out by "bUt sUpErMan StroNk" mentality) some magic he's better at protecting against but that's because it using magic to make a normal effect (fireballs and similar) but against the more esoteric magic (mind control, scrying, telepathy) he's just as susceptible as a normal person

The DCAU (DC Animated Universe) was a shared DC universe created back in the 90s. Encompassing Batman the animated series, Superman the Animated series, Batman Beyond, justice league the animated series and Justice League unlimited. As those were all TV shows, they make the distinction by calling this the DCAMU (DC Animated movie universe)

I bet other people are probably explaining this but in some iterations the Trident that Aquaman welds is Poseidon's So essentially Aquaman has the power of god and anime by his side (Though sometimes the Trident can be super op or nerfed depending on the storyline)
