On rewatch you'll notice Lilly asks why the assistant guy is acting funny, she's not seeing the worms, so likely she can't be hypnotized
@TheeKittyPie6 ай бұрын
That would make sense especially if she was possessed by a demon that gets off on tricks, can’t be tricked themselves

I thought it was because Lily was sitting behind the cameras so she couldnt see the hypnotising device. Or she was just looking away like she sometimes does so she saw what was actually happening instead.

2:59 The Grove, otherwise known as Bohemian Grove, is real and still exists to this day. Owned by the Bohemian Club (founded in 1872), it's a place where rich and powerful men (and men only) go for two weeks, watch plays and comedy shows, do odd Druid rituals and drink it up. You know, Burning Man, but in the woods and much lamer. The thing is, they also have Lakeside Chats, which they call "public interest talks". What that really means is "We're gonna talk about stuff with each other that we'd never share with the public". Some people focus on the rituals and think it's a devil-worshiping cabal. I'm more concerned about politicians, businessmen and the uber-rich getting together for a couple weeks to discuss how they're gonna wield their power. There's plenty devilry there without involving the devil.
@Gojirawars036 ай бұрын
As a Christian, as far as I’m concerned, the two types of devilry you’re describing pretty much go hand-in-hand.

I think this was based on a real life Halloween special on BBC Ghostwatch (1992) and caused so much pain and tragedy to its audience, especially to the children. a boy even ended himself after watching it. the cast and crew kept reiterating that the whole thing was fake but because of the damage done, they had to pull it from TV

Yes it was a huge scandal over here in the UK and it traumatized a lot of people... Particularly children. He sold himself to be number one for just 1 episode since he is no doubt going to jail for life. Ya gotta read that small print when selling your soul. This was a fantastic movie and the actors were all amazing, especially David and the actress that played Lilly. I swear this movie fucked me up after watching it two times in a row. Normally most possession movies are cliche, and I’m a horror movie fan. But “Late Night with the Devil” really took the genre and turned it on its head by giving it a layered, complex film with amazing storytelling. It throws so made twists and turns at you and gives you loads of clues that lead up to that climatic ending. It ranks right up there with “The Exorcist” and “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”.
