I knew immediately that these were the universal backlot sets. Then they pulled up to the Bates Motel and I got so homesick. When my mom worked at universal (post production), I would go visit her at work and we would go for walks all in the backlot. Down in War of the Worlds, Bates Motel, Whoville, Alfred Hitchcock and Lucille Ball’s old bungalows, the Jurassic Park sets…. Sometimes having to run out of the way of the tram lol

While it's a bit hazy, I'm almost certain that the horror film Leon's watching at 16:28 is "The Great Alligator River" (1979), which is a fun reference to Theda, Pearl's pet gator. They also reference the gator when Maxine stamps out her cigarette on a Hollywood Walk of Fame star that had an actress's name on it, Theda Bara. That in itself is a double entendre because Theda Bara was a silent film actress and is considered one of cinema's earliest sex symbols, starring in a number of exotic horror films, earning her the nickname "The Vamp." 😁

I saw a behind the scenes clip where Ti West had the head of Theda the alligator in the prop room where Maxine is getting her head cast done. He had it removed as he thought it was too obvious a reference.

7:25 during the night stalker murders so many people wanted to take self defense classes that they were open all hours to accommodate everyone. That shot was probably alluding to that.

When I saw this in theatre’s I thought it was probably her father because of how religious he is so I assumed he was killing “sinners” like it was his job, and that he was the leader of a cult. I didn’t 100% lock in who the killer was but after seeing that he was talking at the beginning of the movie, and me thinking about when they showed him in X I immediately thought about how it would make sense if her father was the killer. Even though I thought it I just let the movie play out cause I didn’t know who else it could be. When Maxine walked in on the killer(her father) sitting in a chair I thought it might be her agent at first. I really like how they executed it. When it was revealed to be her father I said “I knew it!!” 😂.

I just kept thinking girl what in the ryan murphy production is this… that twist… i felt like i was watching a soap opera 😭 i did not see this movie going in the direction that it did, but it was still interesting and the casting and visuals were fabulous regardless 🤗 (pearl still reigns supreme though imo)

I just watched this last night so I could finally watch your reaction. Maxxxine was solid. I think the movies are in the order of my favorite to least favorite. I LOVEEEDDD the 80s aesthetic as a fellow 80s baby (talk about good times). Mia was fabulous, as always. I don't know why I was surprised at how amazing Kevin Bacon was in this. I don't I've seen him in a creep roll like this (well, since Hollow Man, but I try to never speak of that movie). And kudos and guessing like everything plot-wise. lol. You also cracked me up yelling at the protesters. Keep doing your thing, Chance!!

Yeah, several scenes are referencing _Body Double_ (1984), I cannot recommend it enough as a reaction. Though it's worth pointing out that _Body Double_ is more loosely inspired by horror films than a full horror film itself. But once you see it, you'll see why it's relevant to this movie and how horror is relevant to it. It feels very inspired by Dario Argento and _Slumber Party Massacre_ especially. Though it's about acting and actors.

Loved this movie so much! Thought it was a great end to the trilogy. It was cast really well, everyone was able to shine a bit, even in the smaller roles. I feel like Giancarlo agreed to the movie so long as he got to have the hair! While I wasn't worried for her safety during it, I still really loved the chase scene in the lot. It was such a cool way to utilize the setting. The club scene was great too, kinda reminded me of the one in Black Swan. Excited to be able to have them all and do a proper triple feature! Lastly, when you told her to step on his nuts, I just thought to myself funny you should say that! 😅
