Holyfield was headbutting Tyson throughout the entire fight and the ref refused to stop it. People only remember the bites, Holyfield was not backing Tyson up because he was stronger or a better fighter, he was backing him up because Tyson didn't want his jaw broken. Tyson has been beaten in the ring, but it wasn't to Holyfield, one of the dirtiest fighters of the era.

Not on purpose tho, Tyson so aggressive, always coming in head first in all his fights. It's just that holyfield was tougher than he thought. When you coming charging in head first, what you expect. Sometimes you go headbutt, but holyfield use head brain instead of being intimidated.

He would literally clinch and roll the top of his head across his opponents face, it feels similar to rolling a bowling ball across your face. Holyfield is trash, always has been and always will be... Google it if you don't believe me.

It's hard to know if Holyfield's headbutts were intentional. If you watch most of his fights he often leads with his head. He's taller than Tyson so when they clinched and Holyfield stood up his head hit Tyson in the face. Holyfield said he was headbutted many times during the fight as well. Also realize Holyfiel was nering the end of his career as well. He wasn't in his prime either.

Tyson lost a lot after jail and also in his return he didnt had quality of fights to warm up, he fought like 2 fights that lasted less than 3 rounds and then Holyfield.

2nd fight the referee was a disgrace, he needed to take points out of holyfield and they needed to examine the cut, the 2nd fight was a disgrace against tyson, for me tyson won the 2nd fight

All the excuses for Tyson by everyone is pathetic. Tyson was always one of the dirtiest fighter in boxing. Tyson consistently hit people on the break,hit them when they were down, hit them with elbows,low blows etc. Holyfield was the superior fighter. I love Tyson too but facts are facts. Whenever things weren't going his way,Mike found a way out.
