I view MLP S1 like Adventure Time S1: Closer to what's expected of a kids show, but then becoming something more tailored towards everyone in later seasons.

Legit Pinkie Pie became an inspiration for me in how she likes to make friends, and make people feel included and loved. I've grown so much I used to be like fluttershy when I was a kid and slowly throughout my life I've gained more confidence by slowly putting myself out there and getting comfortable in new and social situations.

My favourite pony has changed throughout the years, but currently it's Apple Jack. I find her a little bit annoying in the first season, but after that I feel like she's the sort of character I'd want as a friend.

I can promise you, no matter how it feels now, it does get easier when it comes to social awkwardness and learning to be more open. Sometimes it takes longer than others, and that's okay! Something that always helped me, was remembering that *everyone is thinking about themselves* just like you are. It's a level playing field out there, and everyone lacks confidence most of the time, but eventually you find that confidence within yourself! Don't worry!

I started watching the show about halfway through season one, and seeing someone else's first reaction to it is a great way to vicariously re-experience it for the first time. Also Fluttershy was my favourite from the start and she only gets better as the show goes along.

There’s a theory that Celestia, being a representation of the Sun, our closest Star, is the one who made the prophecy about Nightmare Moon and orchestrated her escape. As a brony who's been in the fandom ever since I was a kid, it's really cool to watch someone who's never seen the show give their thoughts on it. It might seem childish at first but I highly recommend sticking with it, the lore goes surprisingly deep, the music absolutely slaps, and there are some great messages in it. I decided to watch the show after some encouragement from my bf, and I ended up watching the entire series in two months. It was SO much better than I expected. As the show went on, my favorite pony bounced around. It started out as Applejack, then went to Rainbow Dash, bounded over to Starlight Glimmer, and finally landed on Sunset Shimmer. (She's from the side series Equestria Girls, so you won't see her in any episode of FIM. She is, however, canon to FIM, as seen in the series finale.) I wish I had watched this while it aired. This show is truly a prime example of "don't judge a book by its cover."

For me it's a tye between Apple jack and Flutter shy as my favorite characters. For Apple jack because she's very family oriented as well as a hard worker, for Flutter shy it's because I relate to her so hard in being very awkward around new people as well as being an introvert.

I remember my sister watching this show for the first time and I would ask why she liked it, since she was older than me. She just shrug her shoulders and said she enjoyed it, despite it being for kids. So I started watching it out of curiosity and couldn't stop watching it. I finished season 1 through 2 since they were the only ones who were out at the time and then started watching season 3 in English (I'm Italian). This show was one of my favourites.

My favourite? Fluttershy. Because Fluttershy. Also, a lot of episodes get more mature as the seasons progress. The first 3 seasons are by far the least mature. That doesn't mean that the later seasons don't have a good number of episodes primarily targetted at children but the show takes a while to figure out what works best. That being said, there is a lot of division in which seasons people consider the best (my favourites are season 5, 6 and 7).

I watched mlp from age 7 to uhhh now. And those first few years were really tough for me irl. I had no friends. Not really. So this show was truly a fantasy for me. Something that I knew was real but was too far away to attain. Didn't help that I was bullied. When I turned 11, I made my first real friends and I learned that some of the things in this show of magical, pastel horses were real. Things like group hugs, non-awkward or hostile bonds outside of family, ect. As cheesy as it is, this show taught me what friendship was. I don't think I would've seeked out friendship without this show. It's wonderful that you're watching this. :D

You're reacting to one of my favorite shows! :) That's what I was waiting for ;) 00:45 Nice, you noticed that this is a variation of the MLP's main theme ;) Oh, and this is the Equestrian Myth that the "Lullaby For A Princess" song/animation was expanding on. 01:41 Yeah, except "Infinity War" is from 2018, while this episode is from 2010 ;) But yeah, this symbolism is ancient. The Elements of Harmony has been described in the last book of Euclid's "Elements" as the five Platonic solids, a cartoonish depiction of which you can see here ;) There's a lot of ancient symbolism hidden in MLP, as well as references to ancient mythologies and folklore. The Sun and Moon are ancient too - they're the opposing forces of Nature, the Yin and Yang that together, when balanced, create perfect Harmony. 02:14 Hahah yeah, the intro is probably the silliest part of that show, and even hardcore fans usually skip it ;) But at least they added a little bit of modern sounding to it with that rock piece. BTW there's an Italian version of the intro which is much better ;) 03:13 Hahah I knew that you will enjoy the musical aspect of this show the most ;D 04:05 Yeah, they did a very good job with the walk/trot/run cycles, which gives them some "rhythmical charm" and swinginess. I once analyzed them and discovered that there's also mathematical harmony in them: during one trot cycle, the head of a pony moves by the distance of its circumference (that is, 2π), while the timings make a golden ratio (Φ=1.618033…). Just a little something to remember I find amazing: Raibow/ AppleJack, Pinkie/Fluttershy, each couple is actually dubbed by a same voice actress and despite knowing that fact They are so different it's hard to tell.

Technically, it's not dubbing (not for the original English version, anyway). That is how many animated shows are produced, but in the case of MLP: FiM, the voices were recorded first, then the animation was made to fit the voice work. I'm not completely sure, but I believe they are still producing the new generation of MLP in this way.

.... Granny smith apples are among the best. Red delicious are the worst. They're overly sweet mush apples. Granny smiths are wonderfully tart, and are ideal for making any apple baked goods. They're also nice and crisp. You can actually chew them, rather than squish them. I respect that you can have your own opinion, though, even if it's objectively wrong. 😛

Just wanted to say: When making friends for the first time it depends on the occasion. When the atmosphere contains work or school, or just an activity to share, it can sometimes be easier. This is because right off the bat you can communicate with others about the project, and not have to overly rely on your own knowledge. If it's just some gathering, it can be quite hard to keep a conversation going unless both parties have the motivation to pass the first "Hello" and "What's your name?"

Oh, I will @ you for sure and tell you that Granny Smith Apples... Are indeed Very Strong And Sour! ;D ... but because they are strong in taste they are an ideal choice in cooking and baking. The apple flavor spreads to the rest of the dish while still keeping some for itself. But everyone's got their unique tastes. If the pie is still too strong, then we'll step it down to... hm... Gala? Pink Lady? What's next on the scale? Also, many fanfictions have explored the alternatives if the night would last forever, as well as expanded on the sister rivalry. Remember Lullaby for a Princess? Keep that in mind should you reach Season 4. ;)

Even though you were late to the party, you were still the life of it! Just be aware, the ride never ends. The fandom has shrunk over the last decade, but it's still alive and well. Also the music department is always at least competent, I think you'll enjoy the music!

mlp FIM is such a good show! A lot of people write it off as a kids show, but I think it can be for any age ^-^

Fluttershy is my favorite and you'll see why as the show progresses. I really like her design and personality and just everything about her. Right behind her is probably Apple Jack

My favorite is Fluttershy, I've never related to a character as hard as I have with Fluttershy. Yet, anyways. there are many different shows with different types of characters in the world. Note: I haven't finished the show, I'm still in the beginning of Season 5. KZbin comments, please don't spoil me, or at the very least, put a spoiler warning on your comment if you do so.

Hello! I just happened to spot your reaction video thumbnail to this show, which happens to be one of my favorites and I also enjoyed your reaction to episode 1! I discovered this shows existence because a college classmate brought it up in his presentation. After indirectly watching a random S2 episode back in 2013, I dove into MLP FIM from the beginning. Knowing that this show was produced by Lauren Faust, who also worked on other cartoon shows like the Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, and so forth, I was really intrigued. From then on, I soon became a fan of this show! I really hope you’ll find this generation of MLP to be a real treat and for you to continue on with it. As your latest subscriber, I look forward to it!😁 P.S: Fluttershy is my favorite!

So happy you started watching MLP, this show has done so much for me. And of course, it’s going to start out really cheesy (and kind of always will be but it’s a kid show what can ya do) It got me through a rough time, and even by a game being created from it- I met a very important person in my life that I don’t know if I could live without.
