Garp's "You're on your own now" line, I believe, is refering to the fact that, by persuing Luffy personally, he'd been shielding him from the rest of the marines/government. They had no reason to pay attention because one of their top men was already on it. Now thats no longer the case.

If we consider that this first season only covers around fifty episodes of the anime, one might believe that with more than 1000 episodes, there could be 1000÷50=20 seasons. But the further we advance in the anime, the more the material to advance the plot diminishes. So, among the 20 minutes of each episode, at the beginning we had at least 15 minutes dedicated to the development of the story, whereas now it's more like 5 minutes per episode, between recapitulations, fillers, unnecessary scenes. So a dozen live action seasons might be enough. Unless the enthusiasm of the public or Netflix fades. That too is possible.😊

​@@youtpfpm6097excluding the filler episodes and removing some stories that aren't that important (like what they've did this season), I'd say they have at least 10 seasons if we're following the one piece saga. The first season could've ended in logue town, if only netflix give them the 10 episodes they were asking instead of 8, that would've end the east blue saga. Just search for one piece saga and it'll show the arcs included in a saga.

@@TheDragon2000s While Oda is not to be trusted when he took a one month break after Wano he said he re-outlined the saga to be shorter and that he planned to be done in 3 years in I think August 2022. I expect it to take longer but I think it will be less than 5 more years. Even if the final saga ends up being the longest in the series. Like assuming the final saga is 200 chapters long which is 50 chapters longer than the current longest saga it would still only be another 3-4 years.

Now that you've seen the LA version and are watching the Anime, you'll see the differences between the two shows. In the Anime, Luffy is more goofy, Sanji is way more over-the-top lovestruck, Usop is more cowardly, but wanting to prove himself, Nami is way more enamored and "money-hungry", and Zoro, well about the same.

On rewatch you can notice that Garp didn't only test Luffy (I'm not even sure if this wasn't a last minute idea after this talk with Zeff) but likely also all of the new marine recruits nearly the entire season. If you wanted to pass you had to disobey his unjust order. If you "know" this you can even see a little disappointment in his face when only two do it.

Why does everyone want Coby to join Luffy, why doesn't anyone understand that being a Marine is his dream, and you want him to abandon his dream? Also, if Garp wasn't the one on his tail, Luffy would have actually fought Marines and risked the chance to get captured, but since Garp said that he'll personally pursue Luffy, no other Marine chased after him, Garp wouldn't arrest Luffy even if he did catch him, as shown in this episode.

It is wild how much this all worked and even as 8 episodes, cuz iirc it initially was going to be 12 episode but midway Netflix people were like "eh 10...no actually 8". They already filmed a bit of the cut episodes stuff so some of That might end up in season 2. Also fun fact: the ending bit with the kid scenes dubbed over by their respective characters was something an editor slipped in as a neat idea and they kept it in.

The only problematic point in One Piece is when Luffy defends the possibility of the weakest to also have dreams, like Nami against Arlong. But Arlong is weaker than Luffy since the latter beats him. However, Arlong also has dreams. Dreams that are prevented by Luffy. So, ultimately, Luffy shatters Arlong's dreams like Arlong shatters Nami's. Bad Luffy 🤣 Just kidding...but...question of good and evil ultimately.

Sadly they'll never make it through the whole story. It would actually be impossible. By the time they did all of the straw hat crew's actor's would be senior citizens lol. That's not an exaggeration either and the story's only supposed to take place over about a three year period. If you want to experience One Piece in its entirety you'll have to watch the anime or even better read the manga. I do recommend the manga over the anime. You get through it a lot more quickly and the pacing is way better. It's free online, too.

how Nami has knowledge about the map. first of all, fishman is a fish, they live in underwater i think, maybe like aquaman kingdom. and when they came up to surface to see human world, then they didn't know anything. and nami love reading book about map since her child. and that book maybe written by explorer like pirates. but we know that world of One Piece is so extreme, u can see the sea monster, and the 4 seas are separated by red line continent, and grand line. so if u want to explore u must ready to die anytime in the sea. because sea in grand line are extremely insane, the compass direction always change, the wheater change so fast so its hard to get map knowledge by yourself. and also just like Messi in football, Nami has talent for geographic and wheater, especially in the sea. maybe someday in the future Oda sensei will reveal nami's birthplace, its still untold story until now.
